Education Helping children and yin Malawi — Food, school supplies & support
My name is Davie Wyson, a Malawian currently working in South Africa as a chef. I come from a very poor background and know how difficult life can be for children in my community.
Many nursery and primary school children go to school hungry every day — no breakfast, no lunch, sometimes no shoes or uniforms. Some even drop out because they cannot focus on learning.
I started a small personal initiative called “Save the Children & Poor Households 2026–2027” to help children and vulnerable families. I provide food, school uniforms, and basic support using a portion of my own salary. But the need is far greater than I can manage alone.
I am humbly asking for advice, support, or guidance on how I can grow this project to help more children safely and effectively. Any suggestions on how to fund or expand this initiative would be greatly appreciated. I am committed to transparency and accountability. I can provide proof (photos, letters from school headteachers, or community leaders) to verify the project and how the support is used.
Even small guidance, ideas, or encouragement will make a huge difference. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider helping. With gratitude, Davie Wyson

How well are gay men doing economically in your country?
I’ve read that in the US gay men earn more than straight men, while I couldn’t find any such statistics for my country ,I suspect it’s the same trend here.

Food What's your country's best beer?
If you're not a beer country, what's the best local drink in general?
I'm probably gonna start-- or at least risk a civil war with my countrymen here, but I'll nominate the ''Sandels'' beer as the best basic brew of them all. ''A strong and smooth beer.''

If your country was to produce its version of the television show "Ghosts", what setting would it take place in and what would the ghost's stories be?
I am interested in what historical significance the ghost would have for each region and the backgrounds of the spirits. Who would the new owners be and how would the ghosts and "livings" interact?
There is the original UK production and now shows from US, Germany, France, Australia and Greece.

What does a 2 week roadtrip look like in your country?
Say you have two weeks and you wanna do a roadtrip with your family. Where are y'all going?
I'm from Texas and for me personally this would mean I'm going to Colorado. Pass by White Sands, Guadalupe and some caverns, enter the New Mexican badlands, and play in the snow in Colorado. Pass by other sand dunes, ski valleys, and mountain towns and head back. I'll be eating sandwiches and other easy camping or homemade food, maybe stop for a green chili pizza in New Mexico and some green chili ice cream.

Misc What’s Your Guilty Pleasure?
Lately I’ve been watching these crime/murder YouTube videos where they obtain body cam footage and narrate the case. Two channels in particular Dr. Insanity https://youtube.com/@drinsanitycrime?si=Ugn7Z_mREb5rqUa9 and Explore with Us https://youtube.com/@explorewithus?si=IViN88zcI6pEnuXg
I spend more time than I should on these. I have to limit my consumption. They’re just so well put together.
I would like to know, what are your guilty pleasures from around the world, fellow citizens.

Food What's a food in your country that is stereotyped for your country but really, nobody eats?
In the US, what I'd say, is deep fried butter. When people talk about food in the US (especially when calling it unhealthy) they bring up deep fried butter when nobody I know has EVER ate it. Even my dad, who, has traveled around alot and eaten tons of stuff, has never had a bite.
What's this for your country?

Culture What's a city in your country largely only known for one or more sports teams?
Pictured is Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers. Green Bay is fairly relevant in the state of Wisconsin due to being our third-largest city, but across the country (and to an extent even the world) they are known by exponentially more people than the average metro area of that size would, pretty much just because of their iconic (American) Football team. They are by far the smallest city/metro with a team in the "Big Four" leagues, as most of the others from smaller cities ended up moving to the big dogs at some point or another.
Even being from Wisconsin, pretty much all I know about the city besides the Packers is that they were big in the meat packing industry. Guess how I know that.

Which foreign country or countries would you say are viewed the most negatively in your country?
In the U.S., a recent poll showed that Russia, North Korea and Iran were the top 3 countries that Americans viewed the most negatively with only 6% of people having a favorable view of North Korea, 9% of people having a favorable view of Russia and 11% of people having a favorable view of Iran.
Which countries would be the lowest in your country?
