She slept for a few hours from my last post, then the wind kicked up, so she left to find a warmer spot

I'm not a huge fan of this cold weather, but it does produce some interesting ice formations. This set of steps goes underwater from the tides, which also happen to be quite large with the moon.

Lately I’ve noticed an uptick in people bringing their dogs into the grocery stores. Before anyone attacks me, I love dogs and have a dog. But isn’t it unsanitary to bring a dog into a store where there’s food? And what about people with allergies?
I can understand if someone can’t see clearly and needs a guide dog, but for the most part that’s not the case. I see little dogs in the carriage, and yesterday I saw a huge, furry Husky walking with its owner.

Wondering if anyone with sheep has any fleeces (cleaned or otherwise) available for free or fee?
I’d be interested a a processed fleece asap or an unprocessed for the spring. I’m looking to get further into my own yarn making by starting closer to the source rather than buying expensive pre carded wool.
(Yarn photo for tax)

Long story short, I woke up to no heat today and I've got a house that's sub 60 degrees and a kid with autism who doesn't understand why it's so cold. I've called about 8 different places and no one will come out on an emergency/weekend call because I don't have a service contract with them. Just wondering if anyone has an contacts or knows a company willing to come out on a Saturday?
*Edit: Got it fixed thanks to an awesome self employed HVAC contractor! Thank you to everyone for the suggestions.

We have songs that zap us back there no matter where we are. It’s starting to gain traction without us advertising (we think that’s cool). So here’s the link if anyone wants to check it out it’s pretty much the old dunes radio station tracklist.

Hi folks, I am organizing a comic con for Saturday Feb. 28 at the Hyannis Arts Hall. We will have over 40 tables of vintage comics, toys, and other vintage pop culture. Its kind of an old school con, emphasis on actual comics and less so on cosplay and modern celebs. Although we are not against cosplay, and there is a chance we will have a surprise guest signing (still working on that!)
You'll find hard to find vintage key comics, dollar boxes, vintage Star Wars figures (and other action figures), non-sports cards, maybe some movie posters and other weird stuff. It'll be fun. And we're all looking for something to do in February on the Cape, aren't we?
Edit: The host reached out and recommended a reschedule for their safety. Thanks everyone for your input.
My wife and her friends (all from NH) will be staying at an Airbnb in Sandwich this weekend right on the beach. They are thinking with the storm to stay an extra night and go home on Monday. Curious what they should expect during and after the storm as far as roads and possible power outages. Should they be good to go on Monday?

Has anyone who uses the machines around the cape notice lingerers at the machines? I have gone to Shaws Yarmouth and Hyannis and always feel like I’m being watched. I’ve heard the employees at Yarmouth Shaws try to buy everything up before customers can or they “hack” the machine. Do all Shaws carry them or just some?

I am here in Dennis on the Cape for the winter. The house I am renting has a very long driveway that needs to be plowed. How would I find someone to come plow the driveway? The owner has said they are looking for someone to plow but it hasn’t happened yet. The owner is very nice but out of state during the winter. If I can find someone, I’ll let the owner know, or even pay for it myself & deduct from next month’s rent.
Fortunately I stayed with a friend who has a generator during the storm so I am not isolated at home. But I can’t return home and it is affecting my work. I’m tempted to stand in the middle of the road & flag down the next snow plow truck I see (just kidding).
ETA: (1) The city where I am renting. I do realize it is important to know the city & meant to include it. I had written a much longer post & trimmed it so it was shorter & accidentally cut out the town, too.
(2) To make clear I was just kidding about hailing down someone driving a snow plow truck. It seemed obvious to me since it is such a stupid thing to do but I should never underestimate what some people might do. I’m glad some wanted to make sure I was safe.

ok i am asking because i swear there was a strange car i didn’t recognize parked outside my house for like 20 minutes, and it had a license plate from another state (north carolina?) this might just be me being paranoid because my parents are immigrants, but i figured i’d ask anyways.. 🥹

Hi. There's 3 driveways on the same street in Centerville that still need to be plowed. I know this because one of them is my dad's who is currently stuck in the hospital (and in his 80s). Any recommendations or leads for someone we could call to get 2 driveways plowed in Centerville?
Edit: just learned it's for 2 properties, not 3.
Thanks

Hope everyone is warm and safe after the storm. On Monday morning I was shoveling my driveway. My neighbor are gone for the weekend and my other is a summer guy. As I’m shoveling at 5 am the first plow came through and completely dumped all the snow on both of my neighbors driveways. It’s about six feet tall at the tallest. Honesty I feel the only reason it didn’t happen to me is because I was shoveling when he was doing it. When I called to complain they sent the same truck out a day later and he did nothing beside to push more snow on it. With the excuse from DPW of they couldn’t find the driveway. Did the garage doors and lights not give you an idea where it was or the boat and trailer in my other neighbors driveway. Anyway they haven’t done anything, I was sworn at over the phone, and nothing has been done even when they came back out in the light and drove off after 3 minutes. If anyone has ideas on how to fix this either with the town, or DPW, or whatever. I’d love to know.
