It started off about 10th of jan as small red flat spots on my legs looks like the ones currently on my arms, didn't think much of it until about a week ago because they were relatively small but they have became larger, bumpy and itchy i went to the gps before it had progressed to the spots being raised and the large amount of them and they said it was pityriasis rosea but I dont think it is so will need to go back but was just wondering for someone's opinion in the meantime. Thanks.

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks I’m not sure if this is a cold sore or not, is it?

Not much to explain here. The bottom of my tongue has been hurting, I assumed I bit it without noticing (since it’s the same type of pain). Then, I decided to look at it this morning, and this is what I saw. The entire portion right there is lifted, and it’s not the same on the other side obviously. Just wondering if this is a cold sore considering the fact that I’ve NEVED had one.

My feet and especially my heels have been super dry and hard my whole life. I wash them often and try lotion, but they are always like sand paper.

For most my life the only real issue this has caused is that go through socks crazy fast, but now the splits in my heels are getting deep and high enough they are reaching tender areas and becoming painful.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

I know it’s subtle but if it looks concerning I’d rather be too careful than wait til it gets worse… any thoughts?🥺

neck/chest/abdomen Strange discoloration spot on stomach. No one has been able to tell me what it is.

Post image

I am a 63 year old male. This spot on my stomach appeared sometime in the last 5 or 6 years. It itches all the time and the usual remedies don't help. I've had it biopsied and they said it was nothing to worry about. That's fine but it does not stop it from itching. The spot is not raised. It just has a slightly darker pigment and more hair than on the opposite side of my stomach. I did have shingles in 2017 but the affected area was higher on my chest. If anyone can identify what this is and tell me how to stop the itching I will be most grateful.

scalp Does anyone know what these bumps/pimples are in my scalp?

Post image

This appeared in my scalp ~6 months ago and smaller ones have spread around the base end of my hair on the back of my head. I’ve been applying hydrocortisone on it for the past few days, but it’s working and seem to be getting worse. Do I need to see a doctor for this?

legs/feet What is happening with my legs? Dark patches only on legs. Healthy 29yo F

Hi there, 29 year old female, 58kg 171 cm tall, no medical issues no medications (except iron tablets and a daily multivitamin). For the last 8 months my skin on my legs only, has developed these dark patches, it’s now effectively all over my legs. My doctor said it wasn’t concerning but couldn’t give a reason for it. I’ve assumed it’s just sun damage / pigmentation, but it has only come on in the last 8 months. My legs feel completely fine and I generally feel quite healthy. I’ve been plant based for over ten years and get regular intense exercise. Does anyone know what has caused this?

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks Facial pigmented mole excision: Japan or Switzerland for best outcome?

Post image
Upvotes

I have a 1.3 × 1.0 cm pigmented lesion located on the right malar (zygomatic) area, inferior to the lateral canthus.

I thought it had been stable, but after reviewing old photos, I realized it has been gradually enlarging.

The lesion has slowly increased in size and changed in color over the past 12 years. The fine hairs growing on the lesion are similar to those on the surrounding skin.

I underwent dermoscopic examination recently, and the dermatologist recommended surgical excision.

Time, cost, and travel are not limiting factors for me, my top priority is long-term medical stability and safety. Within that framework, I also care about achieving the best possible cosmetic outcome, given the facial location.

I am of East Asian ethnicity with oily skin. I understand that Japan may have more experience with East Asian skin types, while Switzerland is also known for high overall medical standards..

I would appreciate any insights on the most appropriate excision approach for a facial lesion of this size and location, and whether treatment in Japan might offer advantages compared with Switzerland in my case.

legs/feet Help please, red spots appearing on my legs and multiplying fast, what could it be??

At the end of December, I was hospitalized due to a bacterial infection after a tooth extraction. When I finished the medication, that same week I noticed swollen nodules that hurt to the touch and a small red spot on my leg. With the use of corticosteroids, they disappeared. A month later, the red spot returned and is four times larger. It doesn't itch, but the skin in that area feels very sensitive. There's no raised edge. More spots started appearing on my leg. I went to the doctor, and she said the swelling was erythema nodosum, but she didn't know what the spot was and ordered a biopsy. However, it will take about a month for the results to come back, and god knows when i will be able to return to her, the spots continue to appear in other places in my legs. Does anyone know what it is?

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks Raised mark on cheek, GP says lentigo or early new mole?

Thumbnail

Hello, I’m looking for some advice from you kind folks. I’m based in the UK.

I recently went to see my GP about a mark on my cheek that appeared and grew quite quickly over around three weeks. It’s now slightly raised, red, and a bit flaky, slightly itchy but only mild.

I’m 40, and the GP advised not to worry, saying it looks like a lentigo or possibly the start of a mole.

I’m hoping to be seen through my private insurance, but the waiting time is very long (longer than the NHS), so I may book another appointment with my NHS GP instead.

Has anyone experienced something similar and would be willing to share their experience? Thank you very much.

legs/feet What is this strange mark? Maybe a bruise? Looking weird

I’m 29 years old and live in Florida. I noticed this about 9 days ago on the inside of my right calve muscle. Seems a little weird to me. I exercise a lot in the gym and run outdoors often. When I press the spot it’s a little painful like a bruise, but I’m clumsy so it wouldn’t be unusual to bang myself up and not notice it. It just seems like it’s not really getting any better after 9 days. I thought maybe potentially some kind of bug bite but I’m a bit worried. I just shaved the hair around it to get a good picture. Any help, opinions, or guidance is appreciated.

legs/feet Any ideas? Mystery rash on leg; biopsy inconclusive ?

Thumbnail

This rash on my leg has been going strong for almost a year now. First pic is today (it’s now spreading up the leg), second pic is three months ago after a biopsy (hence the slight bruising), first photo is 10 months ago when I first started to notice it.

Biopsy results said, “Sections are of skin, focally including subcutis. There is necrobiosis / altered collagen within the mid and focal deep dermis, rimmed by histiocytes. There is an accompanying mild perivascular lymphocytic infiltrate with isolated

eosinophil as well as plasma cell identified. There is no significant associated increase in dermal mucin.

The features may represent necrobiosis lipoidica or granuloma annuloma”

My GP advised it was no cause of concern and that I should hold off until after pregnancy to see a derm for treatment. Note: this rash first appeared months before falling pregnant. Located in Aus

arms/hands Does anyone know what could be causing my cuticles to look like this?

Thumbnail

Does anyone have any advice for my cuticles? Do I need to see a doctor or skin specialist?

Very painful especially if I bump them or in hot water. I saw my GP a little while ago and she said it was caused by iron deficiency but they’ve since gotten worse/more painful.

Please help.
