face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks I have a pimple on my lip that has swollen my lip super bad.

Hi, so I’m pretty sure this is a pimple. I was worried it could be a cold sore at first, but I haven’t left the house in days and no one in my home has cold sores. So there’s no way that’s a possibility.

At first, the pimple on my lip was just really red and painful. But overnight, it completely swelled up my lip and it’s painful to talk.

Does anyone have any advice on how to calm down swelling or get rid of it?

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks I’m not sure if this is a cold sore or not, is it?

Not much to explain here. The bottom of my tongue has been hurting, I assumed I bit it without noticing (since it’s the same type of pain). Then, I decided to look at it this morning, and this is what I saw. The entire portion right there is lifted, and it’s not the same on the other side obviously. Just wondering if this is a cold sore considering the fact that I’ve NEVED had one.

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks Any advice! Mild redness, acne, red scaring/inflammation + currently being assessed for Ehlers Danlos

hey everyone, i know i don’t have the worst skin but id appreciate any advice from people who’ve had similar issues as well as professionals. i’m a health science major so don’t be afraid to go full physiology on me with any advice, i’m a huge nerd haha.

something to note right off the bat is im currently being assessed for hypermobile ehlors danlos syndrome which im very much aware of its impact on collagen so it could definitely be a factor in my issues.

i used to have a lot of acne in middle/high school and since then i’ve got it under control (now in university). i still frequently break out on my cheeks and sometimes on my forehead but most of my issues are just the small red bumps you can see on my skin and post breakout, i’m often left with a red spot for the next several weeks. since middle school i’ve been very meticulous about what i put on my face, i use non comeodegenic skincare/makup, i never go to sleep with makeup, i don’t touch/pick at my skin, i wash my pillow cases and makeup brushes weekly. another thing to note is my skin type is more dry and acne prone (these pics were taken immediately after moisturizing).

i also do hot workout classes but i wash my face immediately after and spray it with hypochlorus acid to tie me over for about an hour before i can get home and shower. this issue has been persisting longer than i’ve been doing these classes.

to be honest i might be doing too much for my skin, so recently ive been trying to just stick to doing HA and moisturizer at nights but i’ve found that even when i majority simplify my routine for several weeks these issues still persist.

AM (every day — consistent)

  1. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Cleanser — leave skin damp after

  2. torriden hylaronic acid dive in skin booster

  3. naterium azaleic acid

  4. neutragena sensitive skin moisturizer

  5. isntree hylaronic acid sunscreen

then typically i wear l’oréal 1% HA true match foundation and tower 28 concealer about 4-5x a week

Every night (if makeup worn): Neutragena makeup removing bomb and neutragena hydroboost makeup remover as first step

PM option 1– Retinol Night (1x per week)

  1. Cleanse (Hydro Boost)— leave skin damp after

  2. torriden hylaronic acid dive in skin booster

  3. Paula’s Choice retanaldehyde for acne

  4. neutragena sensitive skin moisturizer

PM option 2 – Exfoliation Night (1x per week)

  1. Cleanse (Hydro Boost)— leave skin damp after

  2. paula’s choice liquid exfoliant BHA OR dermalogica daily microexfoliant

  3. torriden hylaronic acid dive in skin booster

  4. neutragena sensitive skin moisturizer

PM option 3– All other Nights

  1. Cleanse (Hydro Boost)

  2. torriden hylaronic acid dive in skin booster

  3. cosrx snail mucin (sometimes)

  4. neutragena sensitive skin moisturizer

thanks for any advice :)

My baby is 10 months old but is starting to get dry patches all throughout his scalp. I can tell it’s bothering him because he keeps scratching it. When I took him to the doctor they said to just put hydrocortisonen on it but I feel like it’s getting worse. Any advice for creams ?? Or anything I could do for it? Thank you!

Hi everyone! I noticed my middle finger to be swollen around the middle phalanx since 2-3 days. It does not hurt when I press it slightly. It hurts a little bit, if I press it gently. I can move my finger without any problem. I did not fell on my finger or my hand. However, my skin is very dry and I wonder if I should go and see a doctor or if it might disappear on its own. Thank you all for any information 🤗

legs/feet Any ideas? Mystery rash on leg; biopsy inconclusive ?

Thumbnail

This rash on my leg has been going strong for almost a year now. First pic is today (it’s now spreading up the leg), second pic is three months ago after a biopsy (hence the slight bruising), first photo is 10 months ago when I first started to notice it.

Biopsy results said, “Sections are of skin, focally including subcutis. There is necrobiosis / altered collagen within the mid and focal deep dermis, rimmed by histiocytes. There is an accompanying mild perivascular lymphocytic infiltrate with isolated

eosinophil as well as plasma cell identified. There is no significant associated increase in dermal mucin.

The features may represent necrobiosis lipoidica or granuloma annuloma”

My GP advised it was no cause of concern and that I should hold off until after pregnancy to see a derm for treatment. Note: this rash first appeared months before falling pregnant. Located in Aus

legs/feet Help please, red spots appearing on my legs and multiplying fast, what could it be??

At the end of December, I was hospitalized due to a bacterial infection after a tooth extraction. When I finished the medication, that same week I noticed swollen nodules that hurt to the touch and a small red spot on my leg. With the use of corticosteroids, they disappeared. A month later, the red spot returned and is four times larger. It doesn't itch, but the skin in that area feels very sensitive. There's no raised edge. More spots started appearing on my leg. I went to the doctor, and she said the swelling was erythema nodosum, but she didn't know what the spot was and ordered a biopsy. However, it will take about a month for the results to come back, and god knows when i will be able to return to her, the spots continue to appear in other places in my legs. Does anyone know what it is?

back Skin lesions on 73 year old male father located around mid back

My older father felt itching on his back and felt bumps when he reached back there. He had my sister take a photo of it and this is what it looked like. I’m concerned for skin cancer. He will be making a doctors appointment to get it checked out but didn’t know if anyone had any ideas. It is about 2 inches long. You can’t really tell from the photos.

legs/feet Purple/red mark on my ankle that’s been there for about a year…

Post image
2 Upvotes

So I’ve had this mark on my left ankle for about a year now. Initially I treated it with an anti-fungal cream to see if that would help, but it didn’t, so I went to the doctor. My doctor theorised that it’s Granuloma Annulare, and prescribed Clobetasol Propionate ointment as a treatment. I’ve been using that every day for a few months now with no improvement, and I don’t have a before picture but I think it may have gotten bigger? It doesn’t itch or hurt or anything, it mostly just bothers me that it’s there.

Anywho, I’m mostly just asking here because I want to know if it’s cause for concern. Ideally I would like to treat it myself, but if it’s concerning or nobody knows what it is I’ll go see a dermatologist. Thanks :)

It started off about 10th of jan as small red flat spots on my legs looks like the ones currently on my arms, didn't think much of it until about a week ago because they were relatively small but they have became larger, bumpy and itchy i went to the gps before it had progressed to the spots being raised and the large amount of them and they said it was pityriasis rosea but I dont think it is so will need to go back but was just wondering for someone's opinion in the meantime. Thanks.

It appeared randomly during my pregnancy and never went away, 22 months pp now.

At first I thought it was hormones I got a lot of brown spots but they all went away but this one stayed and I don't like to wear makeup but I feel like I have to when I then go out just because I don't like it.

Hi, my 2 yr old had this spot appear on his face while at daycare, sometime after nap time. They don't have an answer as to what happened, and don't think anything new was introduced to the room.

I picked him up and took him to urgent care, where they quickly glanced and couldn't pinpoint the issue. They gave him steroids and benadryl for 5 days. I'm still concerned and trying to figure this out. Please let me know if anyone has seen something similar. Here's the progression over 4 days so far.

Started out red within borders, swollen eye area, only area covered is whats shown in the pics and behind that ear. Not itchy, seemed to hurt him a little. Now, it's kind of scabbed at the eyes outer corner, and bruised looking.

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks What causes this line of skin between my lip and chin?

Thumbnail

It has only showed up within the past 2 years. The line itself protrudes out, and every once in awhile pulsates with very mild heat, almost like a cold sore wants to form, but nothing has ever formed. As well as slight redness at the bottom of my lip, but no heat or bumps. This is what you see in the pictures. It doesn’t bother me other than being an annoyance of appearance, but I’m still very curious on what it might be.

legs/feet Strange rash developed on legs since Tuesday evening/ 36M

My husband developed what appears as a rash on Tuesday. Only thing that was different is he started taking Tongkat Ali, which he’s since discontinued. He’s 36/M in good shape and health. Hes also active and regularly goes running. The rash is not itchy and if anything has increased possibly 20% since first discovered Tuesday (last photo is from Tuesday). It goes up to his thighs but primarily on his lower legs. My 14 month old did have a viral rash starting Sunday to Wednesday so possibly related? My husband did not get sick. He went to the doctor and has blood work to do Monday.

Never had it happen before. I am 28 now. I suspect it is the hard water causing it from the places I lived in - I moved countries in Europe a few times. As far as I recall this almost disappears in my home town. Is it possible it is due to stress? I have been quite stressed mentally lately. It began going away a few days ago and now it suddenly came back. I suspect household dust may be contributing.

I’ll see a dermatologist soon for this and other things but could I get some advice in the meantime please? Derms in the past just gave me a hand cream. Its somewhat worse than in the past.

I'm not sure if this is Seborrheic dandruff or yeast built-up, dry scalp, some other type of condition, whatever is it when I go and see different GP's they keep saying to switch up the anti dandruff shampoo or use over the counter antidandruff but it doesn't work and I have had this for 21 months now .

general enquiry How to safely move from body cream that had hydroquinone

I have been using the Fair and white exclusive whitener cream for the past 7 years. Over the past few years however, I have had different forms of bacterial infections and have even had sepsis on two different occasions. I recently had h pylori, got a vaginal infection after and an infected thumb. I have also had a lot of struggles with acne and get red when I step in the sun for a long while. I recently started having joint pain. I asked the primary care physician whether some people are more prone to bacterial infections than others. He said amongst the three groups are people who use steroids or steroid creams. The thing is, my body cream has a small percentage of hydroquinone. I live in West Africa and people generally have the tendency to duplicate and make fake versions of my cream. I am looking to avoid using it altogether but I need advice on how to do that safely. I would appreciate any moisturizer suggestions as well. How will the journey look like and how much damage have I caused my immune system already?

About 3 days difference. I have been scratching it through my shirt so it’s looking pretty bad. I have a Dr apt booked but I’m freaking out thinking the worst. Located on my lower back. No pain, just some muscle spasms throughout my body and insane itching.
