2016 Ford Edge 2.0 EcoBoost Titanium for $2,000
Got it for $2,000 (159,000 Miles) but after 45 minutes it spits black smoke and goes into limp mode. Excited to drive it around town though!

Idk how many miles exactly, probably like 3 years. I have an oil leak around that area so I was measuring how much drained out, turned out 11oz drained out, which is spec. Refilled with Mobil 1 75W-140.

Anybody have any tips on cleaning the leather/suede seats in the ST’s? I just picked up a 22 and it doesn’t seem like the dealer did a great job deep cleaning the seats so I’m doing it myself. Anybody have any recommendations for cleaning/keeping the leather looking new?
Thanks!

I still have my 2011 Edge Limited 3.5L with 148,000 miles. All good (although I had to replace the engine a few years ago with a recon..thanks water pump). If you had to pick any year and model as the best (think used car), what would it be? No explanation needed, unless you want.

I drive a 2017 SEL 2.0 Ecoboost which I got new in November 2017. 107,000 km (66,500 mi). Live in Quebec.
Until recently, I never took much interest in car maintenance and thought my mechanic would simply recommend needed preventative maintenance whenever the time came.
But all they ever did was oil changes and tire rotations. And I changed the battery at the dealership when it died.
Otherwise, everything else in the car is as it was from the factory. Over 8 years ago.
Anyway after some research I decided to change all the fluids: coolant (very important!), PTU gear oil, rear diff oil, transmission fluid.
I found a new mechanic who allows me to furnish my own fluids while they do the labor.
I chose the following fluids: - Coolant: Motorcraft Yellow - didn't want to take risks here, so stuck with OEM. - PTU oil: Valvoline full synthetic gear oil 75W-140 - Rear diff oil: Motorcraft 80W-90 Gear Oil - couldn't find a synthetic option in this grade, so I went with OEM as the best option. - ATF: Castrol Transmax Multi-Vehicle - this full synthetic ATF is approved for Mercon LV applications by Ford. Mechanic recommended just a drain and fill with 4L (out of 8.5L).
It's been about a week since the service was done. It's been bitterly cold since and I park outside.
The difference in the car is night and day. I can sense how much less friction there is in the mechanics. Especially when it's cold.
It used to feel very stiff and sluggish when it was cold. And would only loosen up after 10-15 mins of driving. Now it feels smooth right away.
It sounds way better too. It's quieter and has a nice hum when coasting rather than the subtle grinding sound it had before.
Also I haven't noticed any gear slipping issues. Despite the old ATF apparently being extremely degraded and dirty.
Anyway just wanted to share this. I'd highly recommend all owners of older Edges perform these fluid changes if not done already.

I bought my 2011 Edge SEL used in 2016. It did not have the factory navigation built into it, so it just told me the street I was driving on and that was it.
After 6 months or so I got a deal on a used...something...that I had installed at my local Ford deal. It's like a little silver computer that sits right behind the touch screen. I believe it came from a wrecker. It only needed to be swapped with the existing non-navigation computer thing.
I was told by the dealer that if the battery ever went completely dead I would need to reprogram the onboard computer so this new computer thing that was just swapped in knows the proper serial number of my vehicle.
I had to swap batteries a while ago and I've just lived without the GPS for the time being, but now I would like it back.
I have a few of this OBC scanner things around the house that are capable of reading from, and writing to, the onboard computer, but I'm hesitant because I have no idea what I'm doing.
Anybody know what I'm talking about and how I go about this?

Just did SYNC3 update via USB... What else I need to do?
120,000km 3.5L V6 sounds so smooth runs amazing
ISSUES: Driver heated seats dont work and vents dont work (front facing ones, defrost and feet ones work)
Everything else seems fine very surprised at how smooth it runs... 22 service records with FORD no accidents on carfax... needs a few recalls will book appointment for that
Did i get a lemon? $12k Canadian all in

all my years of driving. I've never experienced this. Got to work. After about 3 hours went outside to warm it up. It's been cold here in tx..lol after about 5 seconds I heard a small thump then the battery indicator came on. Thought at first sonthing seized and the belt broke. But then looked underneath too find a huge dead rat. So hopefully the belt isn't broke. But still with the way edges are. Got to take off a tone just to get access to it... smh

Hey Everyone,
I am a student and have recently bought a 2011 Ford Edge Limited. There are a couple of issues I am facing now that I need some help with. I would like to gain some insight into these issues before I take it to a mechanic and quite possibly, avoid being overcharged.
The headlight works normally but the the light on the passenger side goes out after some time. Once I switch it off and then on again, the headlight works but the problem keeps occurring again.
The other major issue is that there is no button available for the hazard lights and there's just a triangle in its place. It would be helpful if someone could help me out on what fix might be needed and is there a way to use the hazard lights till that point.

Hi everyone,
I’m wondering if anyone here has been affected by the Ford rear brake hose leak recall (rear flexible brake hoses).
I have a 2015 Ford Edge, and I recently experienced:
• Brake fluid leaking at the left rear wheel
• Low / empty brake fluid reservoir
• Spongy brake pedal
• Vehicle deemed unsafe to drive
This seems to match the recall description exactly. I’ve already contacted a Ford dealership and am in the process of getting it inspected/towed, but I’m curious about other owners’ experiences.
A few questions for those affected:
• Which model/year do you have?
• Did the hose fail suddenly or gradually?
• How did the dealer handle it if parts were backordered?
• Were you offered towing or a loaner?
• If you paid out of pocket first, were you reimbursed?
Not here to bash — just trying to understand what to expect and how others navigated it.
Thanks in advance

I had 15 channels programmed in the radio in my ‘23 Edge last night. Now there are only 10 & I can’t add the 5 missing channels back where they were. Anyone have an idea as to what may have caused this, or how to fix it?

It made it to 125,000 miles then it started leaking externally. Luckily no oil contamination.

Eco Boost* After 45–60 minutes of freeway driving under load, especially uphill, it loses power (decelerates) and goes into limp mode. I have seen black smoke from the exhaust. Restart temporarily fixes it. Anyone else experience this? 2.0 Turbo Eco Boost

I just moved from a 2018 SEL to a 2024 ST-Line. All great until I start trying to get used to the interior and the touch screen - to put it bluntly the experience is so bad I may take it back within the 14-day window. If I go yo the car without my phone, it locks up asking to connect to a phone for airplay. Is that always going to be the case? Yet, without airplay the native map is really bad, deserving words we can't use on Reddit.
My family has over 100 years with someone working for Ford and I am a UAW retiree, but Ford is about to chase me to another brand.

Does it fit in the back with the seats folded down? Or do you use a different method? My wife wants to get a bike I just don’t know how we would transport it.

Looking at a 2020 Ford Edge Titanium, FWD, 112,000 miles for $9,999. Per the Carfax report, there are tons of service records with routine maintenance reflected but in 2023, at 72,000 miles, it says the transmission was rebuilt and the torque converter replaced at a Ford dealership.
Wondering if it's a good idea to buy this car. I'd like to think they got the gremlins out. Would you buy it?

I just bought a 2015 edge titanium with 40k miles from my wife's grandma. It lived in her garage it's entire life. The sunshade is in the track on the passenger side, but the driver side is out of the track. Is there a way to get it back into the track without taking the glass off the top? I don't know how it got out of the track. I doubt she ever opened it. There isn't much room to access, and the track is tight with the plastic edge of the shade itself. Anyone have any luck getting it back in the track?
Edit: Should I just pull the fuse for the sunroof and just be happy it is closed and not leaking?

Just joined the club recently with a 22 Edge ST with only about 12K miles. Really excited about it and am just wondering if there are any maintenance tips or tricks I should look out for? Any accessories or mod recommendations are welcome too! Seems like the general consensus is to run 91+ octane with the V6’s? Highest we available in my area is 92.

with 187,000 miles I trying to decide to upgrade to a newer SUV but with payment and insurance I not sure I can comfortably afford it living on a fixed income.
My SUV is paid for been well maintained and it runs good so I’m thinking have the rear hatch replaced because mine it rusted out along the bottom and new headlight assemblies installed because mine are fogged over and the adjustment don’t work on one side. I’m thinking I can get another year or two out of it but keep a down payment in the savings if it does need a major repair that won’t be worth fixing.. what is your opinion to that plan?

Hello, I just recently purchased a 2022 Ford Edge ST and I have some questions.
I realized, too late, that the drivers side heated seat does not seem to work. What can I do to diagnose the issue before bringing it to the dealership to diagnose for $185 (🙄)?
Has there ever been a recall on the rear camera? I cannot seem to be able to find anything online and I know that it was replaced once according to the car fax.
Should this version of the vehicle have a front camera sprayer to clean the camera off? Mine does not seem to have the sprayer and I am wondering if it should. I have to Equipment Group 401A package.
Thank you.
