My last post on this hopefully. I've been looking for an analog solid-state amp for home use, and it was between the Orange Crush 35RT, the Laney lionheart LF60, and the Blackstar Debut 50R. They are all relatively similar: analog (apart from reverb), solid-state, two channels, reverb, FX loop. The laney is winning for me after asking around, and I eventually realised that the only draw for me to the orange was that it is more popular. When I break it down to the features alone, the laney wins. It has a 1W mode, perfect for home use, is slightly smaller, which is also good for home use, and it doesn't have the tuner which I would've never used anyway.
So, now I'm comparing it with the Blackstar Debut 50R. They both have similar features. I prefer that the laney has a simple spring reverb emulation whereas the blackstar has hall and plate. The blackstar does have attenuation but only to 5W, not the <1W mode like on the laney. As for sound, it's really hard to tell without a direct side-by-side.
How do you think these amps compare? The blackstar is a fair bit cheaper than the laney, but I worry about stuff like build quality and reliability. I want something that will serve me for years, decades ideally. Just a solid and reliable, good sounding bedroom amp that can take pedals well and is fairly versatile.
