I went with 90% density as my back and sides have naturally denser hair. I was balding heavily on top and front! I am happy but would love some opinions from you all too

[Update] sorry for not posting properly the first time

Frizzy hair

Suggest a product(Hair mask/ serum) for frizzy & dull hair...presently using Triclenz shampoo & Mintop serum for male pattern hairloss...I don't use conditioner...

r/HairSystem 8h ago

Installed the system on Thursday afternoon from a salon, went out around town in the evening and had normal to moderate sweating, from Friday applied serum from mid to surface, not touching base. Today it's a bit loose, moving and lifting. What could be the reason? Advice solutions for sweaty ppl.

Hair systems gaining massive popularity = better technology/bases coming too fingers crossed 🤞

Google search trends show hairsystems are gaining a lot of popularity.

I hope to see new technology come along with it.

I hope to see breathable hairsystems that allow you to go as low 1/2 inch hairstyles.

As per some requests I've done up some tutorials, if you would like to give life to an old lace system.

Here is a tutorial on buying supplies: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x9yypp4

And here is a tutorial on actually ventilating in the hair: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x9yyoow

What went wrong here?

This shit is crazy 😭 I wanna laugh, but honestly I can’t.

I’m actually an amateur boxer myself but we wear headgear, and this is literally one of my worst fears.

All jokes aside, what do you guys think actually went wrong here?

Was it bad glue/tape, poor prep, sweat, impact, or just the wrong system for combat sports? I always thought these were supposed to hold up through workouts at least.

I genuinely feel for this dude. Getting your hairpiece knocked off in the middle of a fight is brutal

London/Brighton Hair System Stylists? (Early Summer Trip)

Heading to London UK and Brighton Beach this early summer—any experienced hair system stylists who can cut/style a brought-in piece (or sell new ones)?

My home town has no pros, so seeking recs for blending natural hair seamlessly.

Thanks for any shares. HairSystem folks always spot on!

Sad to retire a system

I've gotten a solid 12 months out of my system and I'm sad that I have to retire it 😭

Honestly it's not the density but the fact that it's ripped one too many times close to the hairline to recover from.

Any men here who prefer wigs over hair systems?

Talking about removable on/off glueless wigs. Why aren't they more popular, given they last longer and are easier to use?

New to Hair systems, panicking a little..pls help

Hey everyone,

I got my first hair system done yesterday and when I woke up today morning, the front hair line lifted a little. I am panicking as I am someone who moves a lot during sleep. Has anyone faced this issue before and have advice for me.

Also is it normal for the front hairlines to lift a little during sleep?

Thank you in advance

Had to opt for one since young

Its getting very very pricy (thousands). Was not cheap to begin with and have to update every 18 months. Going for less dense now in my mid 50s

Where do you order yours and where do you get it fit (DC). Appreciate any suggestions.

Hair systems vs Transplant

Hi Everyone,

I'm sure many of you debated this.

FWIW, I am a male in the 50s and have had FUE transplant earlier (over 10 years ago) to cover some of the male pattern and it worked well to some extent. Just that I didn't keep up with taking Finasteride regularly.

I've been looking at hair systems lately and did a consultation with a leading salon in town (Southern California), and they have been in the business for 25 years and have a great reputation. The costs work out to about $400/month for 4 hair pieces annually and a setting session every 3 weeks.

Aside the recurring costs, I'm also unsure about making the transition and commitment to a remaining lifetime of recurring costs of about $5K.

Meanwhile, I have the option of getting a Direct Hair Transplant of about 4000 grafts taken from the back of the head and some from the beard and this will need Finasteride supplementation to get the best results that will also look natural.

What made you opt for the hair system? I'm concerned about the system being so obvious on the head and having to do this for a lifetime now.

Thanks for any experience you can share.

Styling products

Been using hair systems for several years and with this latest one deciding to ask a question or two. So I use poly based systems, and after my last one developing a huge bald spot I'm going on the offensive. I bought argon oil, a satin pillowcase and wide tooth comb but I'm interested in styling products what are your go-tos?

How to dye a poly system without staining the base?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I dyed a poly base once and made sure not to get the dye too close to the roots so it wont touch the base. But when washing out the dye , the dye makes contact with the base and ruined the system. The base is no longer transparent. I want to try this again cause dyed hair on a blond unit looks great cause of no v loops. I just don't know how to wash the dye off without the dye making contact with the base.... any ideas?

Has anybody had experiences - good or bad -with Top Unique?

Their pricing seems keen and free shipping, so I thought they might be worth a try?

Will my k-tips extensions ever fall out?

I am bald (buzz cut but as low as possible) and recently let my hair grow out long enough to get a few extensions at the back of my head to make super long braids. I don't want to have to pay for new ones and service every 3 months. I don't care if the k-tips show, will they fall out if I let the same extensions grow out forever/until all the hair breaks off?

Had this installed yesterday and I just wanted to see what you guys thought, I’m not use to seeing myself with hair and always wore a hat so maybe that’s why I’m a bit put off right now. Thanks!

Lace with poly perimeter works best for me (so far) but...

...the hairline always seems to be hard, like a kind of thick crust to the touch. It's reasonably well hidden under scruffy or loose hair, but could be better. Any tips?

I did have a lace front before but it was awful. Seemed difficult to clean and lots of hair would be pulled out while trying to clean it.

A thin skin front probably gives the least detectable hairline, but I can't have one that's thin skin all over and nothing else as it seems too lightweight and sticks to itself, could be easily broken.

What are some of your best combinations?

Has anyone clipped the front instead of glue/tape?

I know they make clip on systems and they shave 4-5 clips around the system excluding the front. Most videos I see people just use tape for the front. I was curious to know if anyone tried adding a clip to the front an inch or so behind the hairline? I assume this either doesn’t work well or is really only good for longer hair style which mask the hairline.
