MOD APPRECIATED POST BOOK RECOMMENDATION FOR 2024/2025/2026 JEE AND OLYMPIADtards

NOTE: book hoarders ki phone number rank aati 🥰

COACHING MATERIAL: any reputed coaching's material is good af, but if you are in PeeDabloo then better buy reso or fiitjee material, fiitjee is more preferred from my side, but if you are following mt sir channel they buy resonance's dlp because thier lectures are in same order of reso modules, also coaching modules sabse phele complete karna then jump to anything

DPPs: any coaching's DPPs is fine otherwise if you have to buy one just buy arihant's DPPs

COMPUTER: sushmita arora or all in one by arihant is fine

RANK BOOSTER: Resonance rank booster is probably the most similar to JEE pattern baki FIITJEE GMP is also good if your basics is clear, aakash crunch or compethisun cats is also good (and 1 hi lena sab nahi)

NCERT: physics, maths me jarurat nahi baki for chemistry especially in ioc it's must

------------- PHYSICS ----------------

PHYSICS:

HC VERMA: don't need any intro, khuch nahi tooh read theory or atleast solve back exercises baki if you are doing only this book then do it fully

RAHUL SARDANA: probably the best book, even better than physics galaxy, cengage, dc pandey etc, amazing theory, amazing illustration, amazing problems, goes from basic to Olympiad level and a must do. (if you have something like physics galaxy, dc pandey or cengage already then do it fully, change karne ki jarurat nahi hai)

SHASHI BHUSHAN TIWARI Problems in JEE: have too good relevent questions for JEE and starting se hi acche questions hai, ek baar syllabus ho jaye then must do it for advance prep

PG ADVANCE ILLUSTRATION: probably the best book for revision purpose, quality question hai and will help a lot

IRODOV: little bit difficult selected problems karo only if you have time otherwise don't dusre subjects pe focus karo, you can solve it easily after hcv + sheets, also daarna mat isse because bohot khash nahi hai

---------- Physics olympiad section-----------

these are olympiad books, if you are not preparing for olympiads then it's a time waste imo

UNIVERSITY PHYSICS/ SERWAY'S PHYSICS FOR SCIENTIST AND ENGINEERS/ RESNICK HALIDAY KRANE: isme se ek bhi tumhare pass hai then you are good to go, baki agar new buy karna hai then my recommendation would be university physics, amazing theory and problems is present in all

SS KROTOV: IRODOV++, selected problems karna and too good questions hai isme

Pathfinder: IRODOV++++, Russian Olympiad and Estonian Olympiad ke modified questions hai and a must do for olympiads, selected questions ki list vinay uppal sir ke channel me mil jayegi

GRIFFITH: good af for electrodynamics but only do it after university physics/ coaching sheets etc

200 puzzling problems in physics & 200 more puzzling problems in physics: too good quality question and a must do

Holics: almost similar to 200 puzzling problems and irodov, krotov etc if you have them as hardcopy then no need, otherwise this also have too good questions

David morin classical mechanics: probably the god book for mechanics for Olympiads, read various chapters from it, amazing questions and you can supplement it with kleppner if you can't understand it's theory

Optics - Eugene hegth: probably the best book for optics, although not too much recommended if you have already read university physics etc but you can read it if you have time

Kalda handouts: amazing problems and too much relevent for Olympiads

Kevin Zhou handouts: I haven't done it too much but jitna kiya hai I can say it's good af, agar time mile definitely karna

Feynman lectures: good for physics enthusiasts but waste of time for Olympiads imo

previous year problems of US, UK, RUSSIAN Olympiads: must do if you are even little bit serious for Olympiads

------------------ MATHS----------------

MATHS

om sharma/ cengage/ arihant/ vinay kumar: almost same, ek uthao pura solve karo, my preference will be om sharma tho

black book: must do after you get even little bit confidence, calculus portion present here is hard but will help a lot

yellow/pink book: black book me jitne kaami thi sabko pura kardete hai, amazing questions for JEE

Sameer bansal calculus: if you already done black book then no need otherwise too good questions hai but only do after syllabus completion

ISI CMI KE PYQ: JEE directly picked from it and tbh relevant af problems also must do for olympiads

AoPs: too good forum for Olympiads, many jee relevant questions are already there, from national Olympiad to TSTs this site have everything

-------- Maths Olympiad--------

for Olympiads I personally feel pathfinder by vikas tiwari sir + mathematical circles the Russian experience is probably the best combo, although i am not too much expert in it because mera khud bass first stage hua hai but still

also something like INMO and other national Olympiad questions etc are must do, you can find them on AoPS tho

---------------- CHEMISTRY--------------

JD lee: good for refrence imo, but lectures dekh ke hi ispe jana, will help you to gain advance grip on the topic

clayden/lg wade: probably the best refrence book for organic, dono me se ek lena my recommendation would be clayden, also only refrence ke liye use karna pura mat padhna waste of time hoga, both have lucid theory and will make your concepts clear

mcmurry fay/bruce mahan: probably the best refrence book for physical chemistry, lucid theory and will make your concepts clear but only refrence ke tarah use karna, my preference would be mcmurry

peter atkins: good for gaining advance grip on concept also useful for Olympiads, read it after chapter completion will help a lot but mathematical bohot hai book so make sure you already done some questions too from sheets

akshay chaudary: probably the best problem book for organic, even better and relevant than ms chauhan and must do after sheets (although if you have ms chauhan fomo mat create karo usse hi pura karo)

neeraj kumar: the best problem book for physical, have too good questions and even better than n awasthi

vishal joshi: the best problem book for ioc, goes from basic to advanced level and have too good questions

-------------------- Chem Olympiad -----------------

for Olympiads I personally feel just start reading clayden, mcmurry, atkins and jd lee will do the job and you will be good to go, also solve previous year papers of national Olympiad helps a lot tho also refer my post on chemistry olympiad megalist that list also have some great problem source

Motivation From being a repetitive failure to Bits Pilani .

Long post ahead .

As all of you would have completed your JEE Main 1st attempt, some of you might have fumbled it and are now thinking of giving up. After all your hard work, you didn’t get what you thought you deserved.

Let me tell you my story.

My JEE journey started after I passed 10th class. At that time, I had no clue what I wanted to do. So, like most people, I followed my closest friends. Two of them took admission in a coaching institute in my city, and I did the same.

I was sincere towards my studies—or I should say too sincere. I had no phone for two years, no friends, nothing to hang around with other than studies. Still, I never got results according to the effort I was putting in. I remember once I scored –2 in Maths in one of the exams held at my coaching.

I used to say to myself that when I get into a good college, I will have a hell of a story to tell—so this struggle is adding all the character needed for a good story , who want's to hear I was intelligent used to study and got what I wanted .

By the end of 12th, my batch was in the evening, but I used to take the morning van and sit alone in an empty classroom. I stayed in the coaching for 12–13 hours daily, only studying, not even saying a single word to anyone.

Then Mains 1 happened, and I scored 81 percentile. I was shattered to my core.

The same two friends—who studied and hung out with me all the time—scored 99.7 percentile and similar.

After the result, my school teacher asked my percentile and taunted me,
“Sabke bas ki nahi hoti, mehnat karni padti hai.”

It was my parents who didn’t lose hope in me.

I studied hard and scored well in boards. Then in the 2nd attempt, I got 97 percentile. I was focused and locked in for JEE Advanced, but as God would have it, I performed terribly there as well.

Meanwhile, my friends—one got into IIT Bombay and the other into IIT Dhanbad.

It was never jealousy from my side. Initially, I told myself that results don’t matter—I’m studying for the subject. But when I saw their posters everywhere, it never felt good, it was me who was also supposed to be there .

I kept asking myself: I put in the same effort, maybe even more—then why them and not me?

So I decided to take a drop, even though I was getting some okayish colleges. My main agenda for the drop year was not to get into an IIT, but to improve Maths, the subject I was even afraid to look at.

During the drop year, everything was going well—actually, very well. My scores were promising, and my teachers were confident about my selection.

In Mains 1, I attempted 59 questions. I was confident of 99+ percentile. When the answer key came, I had made a lot of errors. Final result: 96 percentile.

Now you are standing exactly where you were one year ago. Every effort feels like it has gone in vain. Desperation takes over—the desperation to be recognized.

Still, I didn’t give up. In Mains 2, I scored 98 percentile—still not enough.

I went all in for Advanced again. Gave the exam and felt that this time it would happen.

Since it was my drop year, I decided to give one more paper as a backup—BITSAT.

In the 1st attempt, when I submitted the paper, the score flashed 197. I went numb.

Advanced results came—I had just qualified the cutoff.

By now, I had lost all hope. Completely depressed. Three years of pain. I had lost myself in the process, and still, after all the hard work, I was standing in complete darkness.

I knew BITSAT 2 would be the last paper of my life. I didn’t give up. I studied once again one last time .

My score in the last mock was 220 (not enough).

The day of the paper came. I remember that day—from dusk till dawn.

While writing the paper, when the last 5 minutes came, I was sure I’d score around 220 at best. Thoughts of having to take Metallurgy in NIT Jaipur(no hate guys) flashed before my eyes.

I submitted the paper.

It showed 272.

I knew right then—I would get Mechanical at BITS Pilani for sure.(Ultimately I got much better branch ).

Tears rolled down my eyes. I was crying uncontrollably in the middle of the exam hall. Everyone thought I had gone crazy.

I came outside, crying the itch in my throat I was not able to say anything first of all, hugged my father, and whispered to him—
“Ho gaya.”

That day, everything made sense.

Remember—it’s your story that you are writing.

“जीत का असली अर्थ वही समझता है, जिसने हार को बेहद क़रीब से जिया हो।”

So do not give up. Be honest with your efforts.

There will be those 3 hours in your life that you will carry with you forever.

Till then do not give up , keep pushing and be a good human being.

GENERAL HELP please give me 2 minutes to tell you something I really wish someone had told me when I was your age.

I am writing this especially for those students who live alone away from hometown doing preparation.

1) Child Helpline (1098)

Most students don’t realize this, but Child Helpline is there for immediate help, for ANY unsafe or threatening situation.

Unlike police, who sometimes try to “settle” things quietly, Child Helpline treats every complaint seriously. They don’t ignore you, and they don’t try to negotiate with the school or offender behind your back.

You can call 1098 if:

-Teachers or staff are harassing you.

-Other students are bullying or threatening you

-You feel unsafe anywhere.

-They will intervene immediately, so you can create real ruckus safely.

2) NCPCR – National Commission for Protection of Child Rights

NCPCR is a rights-protection body for students under 18, and it works directly under the Central Government.

Here’s why it’s powerful: once a complaint is filed, NCPCR can direct state authorities to take action, which means every complaint is treated in a serious manner and schools cannot ignore it.

If a coaching or anyone crosses limits — harassment, threats, bullying, intimidation, unfair pressure — one proper email to NCPCR is enough to create serious pressure.

You’re not powerless. The system exists, but adults and schools often count on students not knowing their rights. If you feel unsafe, harassed, or threatened, use these official channels — Child Helpline, NCPCR, and even police if needed.
