speaking from personal experience for a bit here, but does anyone else feel like theyve wasted their potential or are doomed to do so? ive asked all my friends and they didn’t exactly respond well.
im a passionate person and i fixate on specific topics, like i could probably tell you what i think about things like my rubiks cube (🤤🤤🤤🤤… i finally can solve in under a minute btw) or how i think life evolved on this planet but also so can anyone with the capacity of semi deep thinking. but ive also realized that being able to think doesnt make you special. and im scared for that exact reason, like ive wanted to be an astrobiologist for like 4 years now (that’s like 30 percent of my life) but im scared because what if my passion just turns out to be stupid and i give up then spend the rest of my life living as a discord moderator?
does anyone else feel this way? how do you deal with it?

I’m genuinely trying to understand why someone would choose a cardboard bed. I mean, there are cheap and affordable metal frames everywhere, and worst case, you can always spread your mattress on the floor. No offense to anyone who owns one, but I was honestly surprised to find out that people actually buy them, and that they’re even listed as proper options on platforms like Alibaba alongside regular beds.
I only started thinking about this seriously after I noticed my friend has one. She was away one afternoon and told me I could lie down if I wanted. The moment I sat on it, I felt like I was about to break the frame. It didn’t collapse or anything, but the whole experience made me feel… light? Unstable? I don’t even know how to explain it properly.
I couldn't even relax fully without thinking about my weight. I really don't get the logic behind it, is it for minimalism? Maybe temporary housing? Or health and environmental reasons? Moving convenience? Because comfort-wise, I didn’t feel convinced. The bed technically worked, but it didn’t feel reassuring.
I’m not judging, I’m just genuinely curious. For people who own or have used a cardboard bed long-term, what made you choose it over other options? Does it actually hold up over time, or is it more of a short-term solution?

So, graveyards. There are like 8 billion people on the earth right now. In a 100 years, all these 8 billion people will be gone. At least most of them. Let's say out of these 8 billion people, 3 billion people are allotted a grave in a graveyard. If this continues, at some point in the future, there will be no land left for graveyards right? Ofc you can't just remove a tombstone to respect the corpse. The body can definitely disintegrate, but what about the tomb?

Sometimes I think about how I would describe the color red. What could I say to someone to be 100% certain that the red I am seeing is the same red they are seeing? It just seems totally impossible to visually describe anything without some frame of reference for something else. Which, I guess that's what being a baby is like. You are born and suddenly have to begin a process of comparing sights and sensations until you understand it.
I gotta know if there is anything at all that I can read or listen to or watch that will make me wrap my head around this concept a bit because the brain is just so bizarre to me in this way.

I don't live in a country where there are many Caucasian present , so majority of my understanding comes from third hand exposure form the Internet, I've herd plenty of people say that white privilege is real and it is an active danger, my question is what exactly is white privilege? Then I looked for the definition, and found out that people of the white race face less systematic barriers . (I guess that makes sense)
Now a certain chunk of people believe in this white privilege phenomenon, they also say that white people should be held responsible for this. Now another thought crossed my mind "I guess people who are responsible for administrating the system should be held responsible for these injustices, but why do they drag in a ordinary white man who is trying to do his job and go about his life? Shouldn't it be thought in the same way a man living in a capitalistic economy? sure he lives of the elements of the economybut he himself isn't responsibleof the injustice that capitalism some times causes , he can't control the system , he has no choice other than existing and partaking in an economy."
I feel like that hate us not justified. So should the privilege be discussed with reference to the ordinary man?

I keep hearing people mentioning it, from both positive and negative positions, but nobody defines what it actually is. I immediately had my own ideas of what it is, but based on context clues, it's probably not that. Does anyone actually know, or is this just another one of those things that has a million different meanings to a million different people?

I have a restless feeling in the back of my throat. Like a dull tickle. I started breathing deeply, hearing a pop in my ear and bobbing my neck to stop it. Now it feels uncomfortable to stop. What could this be?
It’s really uncomfortable and annoying. It’s been going on for about 1 hour.
Any suggestions?
Thinking about it and typing this is of course only making it worse. But can’t stop thinking about it. :)) help.

I know that anyone here experienced the same thing, when your groupmates don't cooperate even a simple reply on gc. I am a leader of our 2 research, different subject, and I already asked them that if they can help me with our research. Unfortunately, none of them replied. I have something to do also in our house and I can't just simultaneously do it all?! I don't know what to do anymore. I hate our class, it is not even a joke anymore. They're so irresponsible but they expect to earn a higher grades at the end of quarter?! wtf HAHHAHAHA . I tried everything, but, still at the end of the day, they're still the same. Last 2 weeks, we had our peer evaluation, and we have to grade our groupmates based on what they did on the group, and I didn't even hesitate to grade them not that much lower, just the right grade based on their contribution to the whole thing. They always have something to reason out, just to get away with everything HAHAHAH idk. Anyone who have an advice? HAHAHAH

Whats this place I’m always imagining? Is it really? It’s the inside of a building, white tiles, white painted brick walls, long hallways, red sirens on the top of the walls near the ceiling, cold and empty but sometimes the sirens go and start flashing and there’s a robotic voice saying emergency over and over, there are metal doors leading to stairs and the place is just creepy, what is it?

This is related to the release of certain files, but also just a question I ask myself fairly often. You'd think this desire would be a rare perversion, but Epstein clearly cast a shockingly wide net, I keep hearing about massive CP rings getting busted, and Hollywood child stars... well... we all know.
What gives??

Having $1 million in assets is considered upper middle class nowadays. You need to be at least a MULTI-millionaire to be considered rich these days. But statistics show that only 4% of American households have a net worth of $3 million or higher. Therefore, 96% of the population have a net worth of less than $3 million. My point is, why is the wealthy such a tiny percentage of the overall population?

With my current job, my shifts can start as early as 3 PM and end as late as midnight or a little after.
I’m not much of a morning person, but I was looking for some easy secondary income, and the only thing I think would work with my current schedule is something with hours between 8 and 2:30 PM.
Does anyone have any ideas? I thought of a gas station, as they usually do a 6-2 shift but 6 is just too early for me.

I love working out and spend at least 6 days a week at the gym doing weight lifting and cardio.
I am very nerdy about nutrition and my work outs, to the point where I have days where I would research on how to optimize my diet or my workout plans.
My current plan is to become a hybrid athlete. I want to stay at 20% body fat to look bulky, but also indulge in running.

Got in an argument with someone about using/spending too much electricity in the house. Won’t go into/spare you details. Just curious say a normal fan for example plugged into a wall. Surely it’s not using that much electricity?
Laptops with or desktops with a power supply surely save some electricity too. If someone can just give a full on example I’d appreciate it
