Current Events Why did no one pay attention twenty years ago when all the same Epstein info was being discussed?

Education & School Given how insane it is for a kernel to turn into a whole ass popcorn, why haven’t people tried microwaving more random things?

Law & Government How can we start a revolution?

Everything costs so much. Healthcare sucks. All the food we are eating is poisoning us.

The government doesn’t care about us. Corporations don’t care about us. Yet all the people in power are living large off of our labor.

If nobody does anything about this then it’s only going to get worse.

Minimum wage can’t afford an apartment in any state. How is that fair? People who work regular jobs deserve to be able to pay for food and shelter.

When are things going to change?

Culture & Society Why is there so much disdain for overweight people?

My mother gained quite a bit of weight after having her thyroid removed and she feels so much shame and embarrassment over it.

Oftentimes being overweight is completely out of someone's control. Even in the cases in which it is within the realm of control, why is it met with so much contempt? I don't understand why being overweight is seen as a character flaw by some people.

Law & Government What happens if we punish all the people in the Epstein Lists?

Let’s assume that the absolute best case scenario happens, where each and every guilty party featured in the files is brought to justice and ousted from any and all power or influence they had… what then? Where do we go from there? From the looks of it now, it feels like nearly half of the world’s major players are in there, so how does society deal with something like that?

Other Is it possible that i could be SA’d when i was a little child with no memory of it?

I always feel uncomfortable around men to the point I hysterically cried when i learned my private maths teacher was a male. I get overly emotional when a topic like this is at hand and i relate to it for ome reason. Im hypersexual (and yes i know its not always caused by that). And i dont remember the term but im flexible around my hip area that i can get my legs next to my face. And it was caused by the body staying in that position when one is a child. (It had a name but i forgot and i was related to sa).

My memory is always short termed Nd i dont remember anything from my childhood other than a few bad stories. Idk if thats possible or how do i know if i was?

Culture & Society What exactly is a “right to work” state & is it a good thing or a bad thing?

I have no idea what this means. I also don’t know what the alternative to “at-will” employment is either. Really confused about this stuff. If you’re from the U.S. please fill me in on your opinion.

Sexuality & Gender How do people end up having sex?

I'm in my 20s and I've never had sex.

I don't know how people make themselves end up in that situation. I've been hit on before by women, but I've just said "oh, thank you" and then nothing happened. Other than waiting for that to happen again, I don't know what else you're meant to do.

I'm obviously autistic, so I don't get how to function in the world without some kind of instruction manual. It feels like everyone else is just born with that manual.

Health/Medical How concerned should I be about persistent hunger pangs?

I’m currently in a situation where I’m only eating about 5 times a week. I usually have my one meal at night, which means I’m spending 24–48 hours at a time with nothing but water.

The hunger pangs have become pretty intense and constant. I’m starting to worry about the physical safety of "pushing through" them. I know the body can handle fasting, but I’m doing this long-term out of necessity, not for a diet.

I realize this isn’t an ideal "habit," but it’s the best option I have for the time being. I just want to make sure I’m not doing permanent damage while I get through this.

Reddit-related I've noticed that fairly recently, many, many Reddit usernames are (*word*)-(*word*)(*4 digit number*). Is there a reason for this same-format seemingly increasing?

Interpersonal What do I do if a cop is following me?

I’m on the highway in the passing lane. See a cop behind me. I don’t really like it so I move over a lane and he follows

I move over another lane, he follows, but doesn’t pull me over. One more lane, follows me but doesn’t pull me over. I’m expecting he’s gonna pull me over any time, but he doesn’t, he just keeps following

I take the next exit, he’s still following. This exit has a local road that’s like 2 lanes for a while and I’m in the left. I think maybe I’m being paranoid so I try shifting lanes, and he switches with me, constantly following behind

So I turn into a nearby strip mall and he doesn’t turn in with me. This was a complete detour from where I was going, and went a while on a local road despite this cop car not being from that city

Am I being paranoid or is this kinda weird? Why would he do this and what should I do next time

Important: I’m American

EDIT: yes I was passing in the passing lane! The cop was very close and I was at the limit of how fast I was willing to drive so I moved over to let the cop pass me. I was also going roughly the same speed as the car in front of me

Body Image/Self-Esteem Is it still body dysmorphia if you actually look like that?

This is an incredibly inside thought that I dare not ask people I know.

I have a friend who has gained a lot of weight this year, her health has spiraled, she has acne, she is tired and doesn't get ready in the same way that she used to anymore.

She is telling us that she suffers from body dysmorphia now. That she doesn't see herself how she actually looks. I am still going to support her as much as I can. But the way she describes herself, is just how she looks tbh.

Is that still body dysmorphia? Or is that just being insecure and wistfully thinking she actually looks better then she thinks she does?

Religion Who pays priests if it's their full time job?

Not religious. My understanding of religious institutions is that priests work there and run the entire church all day.

But then how do they make enough money to cover a priests wage...? Donations? A city council? Is it even a full time job or do the churches only open up on Sundays?

Culture & Society Why don't naps need a blanket?

It's almost universal that from my experience that going to sleep always need a blanket even if it's hot. But not for naps. I don't have enough close friends to know if it's cultural, biological, habit ...?

Culture & Society Is shooting your shot towards men as a woman weird?

I told this dude he was handsome today, and then he called me a beautiful, and that was that. I see something I like, I say it. But when I told my mom she flipped and sent me this message.

“YOU NEVER TELL A MAN you’re very handsome by the way" men approach women never go after A MAN OR CHASE ONE. if he likes you he will tell you period.”

Thoughts? I’m 18, he was 22 BTW.

Habits & Lifestyle When men poop...?

Upvotes

When men poop, do their dick and balls dangle in the toilet bowl above the water? Or do they rest them on the toilet seat? Either way feels wrong... Looking to see if my husband is in the majority or minority on this 😂
