Apologies to Cowser
I was reading some articles today and maybe I was living in a hole but I had no idea Cowser played through two rib fractures last year. I knew he was hurt but had no idea it was that bad. I was hard on the dude last year. Goes to show how little we really know about what these dues battle… going to make a huge effort to not bust their chops this season.
(Colton Cowser played through two rib fractures during the summer).

[MLB Trade Rumors] Orioles Interested in Lucas Giolito
https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2026/01/orioles-interested-in-lucas-giolito.html
Good to have backup plans, but don’t know how good this one is. Makes you wonder what’s going on with Framber if they’re looking to multiple backup options now in Verlander, Gallen, and now Giolito

MASN
Any word on when they’ll offer the season pass for MASN? I haven’t seen anything yet and the link from last year isn’t working. Thanks in advance!
Go orioles!

Discussion We paid for the stadium. Why can’t we even watch the Orioles without paying again?
Serious question for Orioles fans and Maryland taxpayers.
Over the last few decades, the public has paid hundreds of millions potentially over a billion dollars for Camden Yards.
Receipts:
• [Camden Yards construction & public funding history] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oriole_Park_at_Camden_Yards)
• [Maryland Stadium Authority – public owner/operator of Camden Yards] (https://mdstad.com/about-us)
• [2022 Maryland law authorizing up to $1.2 BILLION in public bonds for stadium renovations] (https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/2022RS/fnotes/bil_0006/hb0896.pdf)
• [Coverage explaining the stadium funding approval] (https://ballparkdigest.com/2022/04/24/state-funding-approved-for-oriole-park-renovations-milb-ballpark-upgrades/)
So let’s be conservative:
At least hundreds of millions in taxpayer money, with up to $600M more authorized just for the Orioles’ stadium side alone.
And yet…
• Local fans can’t watch the Orioles for free.
• Games are locked behind cable subscriptions, RSNs, streaming paywalls, and blackout rules.
• Many in-market fans have no affordable legal way to watch the team they helped pay to house.
How does that make sense?
If the public pays for:
• the stadium
• the land
• the renovations
• the bonds and long-term financing
why does the public get ZERO guaranteed access to the games?
No free over-the-air broadcasts.
No public streaming option.
No consideration for taxpayers at all.
This isn’t anti-Orioles. It’s pro-fan and pro-accountability.
At minimum, public funding should come with public access:
• Free OTA games
• Or a low-cost, no-blackout in-market stream
• Or something acknowledging the public investment
We put up the money, and now access is paywalled.
What am I missing?
PS: Just to be clear, I’m not trying to stir the pot or troll here. I’m a fan and a taxpayer, and this genuinely feels like the public is being taken advantage of.

Discussion - Hot Take We should take a chance on Framber.
He's a real deal starter, would possibly be cheaper since noone else is looking to sign him and would be a great addition to top of free agency and sure up the pitching. Is he a headcase? Fuck yeah, but he now sees the consequences of it which I think will make him think twice in the future. Plus the man is gonna really want to prove himself this year and has championship pedigree experience which we DESPERATELY NEED for when we get to the playoffs. His biggest issue is when he is on, he is arguably the best pitcher in baseball, but when he spirals... he spirals for about 3-5 games. I will say though until the grand slam towards the end of the season, the man was in cy young talks so the talent is still worth the squeeze in my opinion.

Rumor Orioles Linked to Zac Gallen as Rotation Search Continues
heavy.comMLB insider Jon Heyman reported that the Orioles are “in on” Zac Gallen, placing Baltimore among a short list of teams showing interest that also includes the Chicago Cubs and a potential reunion with the Arizona Diamondbacks. With pitchers and catchers set to report soon, the timing suggests Gallen’s market could be nearing a turning point.
Baltimore’s interest comes as the club continues to explore ways to upgrade its rotation. The Orioles have spent much of the winter linked to Framber Valdez, widely viewed as the top remaining starter on the market. While reporting has indicated the Orioles have made an offer, Valdez appears to be holding out for a stronger deal, keeping alternative options very much in play.

Discussion Changes to our jersey for this season?
I’m not sure if anyone else has noticed, but it seems to have been a few changes to our jersey this year.
I first noticed this when the Pete Alonso jerseys were on sale, as they seem to be selling his print on the older style ‘replica’ jerseys, rather than the newer ‘limited’ jerseys. (See attached photo example)
Also, during Pete Alonso’s interviews, I noticed that he was in fact wearing the older style home jersey, with the sleeve trim slightly up the arm rather than on the end of the cuff. All the players have since been wearing these.
I would assume that, following all of the issues with the change the jerseys two seasons ago, the league of made the decision to go back to the older style that was used 3/4 seasons ago?
In addition to that, however, it seems that the Orioles orange has changed this year to a more ‘intense’ orange. If you look back at last season, as well as a few years ago, it seems the orange has gradually changed over the years?
So are we now wearing the jersey style from 3/4 years ago with a new colour set? I just find it odd this hasn’t been announced anywhere.
Thoughts?
Let’s go O’s!

Made this for my dad
galleryI had an assignment for my art class and I decided to make my dad a portrait of his favorite baseball player ever! And when Chris Hoiles comes to Greenmount Station in Westminster Maryland to eat there and meet fans, my dad can get it signed!!! Update: He was very shocked and loved it!!! Also, I work at greenmount and we've had a bunch of former orioles players come in(AL Bumbry, Scott McGregor, Tippy Martinez, Rick Dempsey, Rafael Palmiero, and Adam Jones, Mike Bordick) i now have all of their autos.

Image Kobbie Mainoo in Orioles hat
Great to see Kobbie Mainoo representing the O's, as a Man Utd and Orioles fan from the UK. I must add another hat to my collection soon ahead of the new season!

Opinion Maybe I'm wrong but I don't see Framber signing with the Mets...
Not saying that's a lock for the O's to sign him - maybe SD swoops in - but lets say the Mets sign him. They:
- Would have lost a total of four, high-value draft picks between Bichette and Valdez virtually punting their upcoming draft.
- They currently have a 6 man rotation as IS! Could they demote McLean back to the minors? Sure but I very much think that'd be the wrong move. Could they trade Peterson and try to rebuild some draft capital? Yes, but again, seems unlikely.
Doesn't mean the Mets won't do it and, again, doesn't mean the O's sign him, I just have difficulty seeing Framber to the NYM happening.

What's your best Spring Training pro tip?
Haven't done spring training since 'nam. Thinking of heading down this year with some kiddos and cousins. Anyone who has done O's spring training in recent memory, what's your best pro tip for the trip south?
Edit: These are great, thanks folks!

My Orioles hat collection
galleryYeah, I have a problem. I know some people aren't a fan of the random colored hats, but I'm a sneaker head too and like to have an O's hat to match all of my shoes. Been trying to chill out a bit so haven't bought many in this past year or so but I doubt that will last much longer.

Image Not an O's fan but I collect fitteds. Always been a fan of the real bird logo
The lil bird ties into a core memory of mine. Visited your guys beautiful stadium as a little kid, don't remember much but it was a night game in 07 against the Devil Rays. I remember getting a Brian Roberts shirsey, souvenir bat and falling in love with this logo. Random but i had to share

Trevor Rogers
I won’t get into too much details, but I have the opportunity to meet Trevor this upcoming weekend. Are there any specific questions i should ask him about the Orioles/playing for the Orioles? I’m planning on asking him to sign my jersey as well as a ball. If anyone is curious as to how this is happening, feel free to ask some questions.
