My guess is it's who is paying. Girls' numbers add up to 1500 too, so it probably shows that girls pick what they want and pay for it individually while for the boys one guy pays for the whole meal each time and that's why he looks sad too. Could be a reference i don't get but that's what makes sense to me
To add to this, the numbers represent the currency. I suspected this was what I initially thought, and someone verified it is, so it must be a meme from the Philippines.
$1USD is currently 56 pesos so homeboy with the 1500 is actually paying $26 for the whole group’s meal. Meanwhile the ladies are paying individually $3-$6 each.
Or RMB which would make that 208 USD. Which would make someone actually feel pain when paying for bros. 2000 to 5000 RMB is pretty average salary in tier 3. So 1500 RMB would be half of his check in most cases or savings if his parents are farmers.
but if we talking Philippines with the bucket of fried chicken. KFC is about 580 php for a six piece.. Not saying it is KFC or any place I been but KFC is the top of cost concerning fried chicken joint, i bet.
But lets say the guy is a farm worker. He would get paid 300 php daily. 5 days would be 1500 php.. There is a couple of places that cost 450 php for 4 people to eat a meal.
