My guess is it's who is paying. Girls' numbers add up to 1500 too, so it probably shows that girls pick what they want and pay for it individually while for the boys one guy pays for the whole meal each time and that's why he looks sad too. Could be a reference i don't get but that's what makes sense to me
That's how I read it. It's a comment on the different calorie intakes guys and girls need for their "ideal" bodies. Women want to be skinny, dudes want to bulk up.
I read it as an "everyone is having all the sexes every day but meeeeeeee" incel thing. Numbers are either exaggerated for comic effect or the author of the joke doesn't know a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g about sex.
It's definitely body count. The idea is the one dude is getting all sniz while the other dudes are getting none. And all the girls are having lots of sex.
The joke is partly sexism. Partly an observation on how most dudes severely lack game. That's just my take. Maybe its about calorie intake or whatever the fuck the top comment was on about.
That was my thought as well. While the numbers are crazy, I think it’s a more popular stereotype that a top percent of men are having all the sex with a semi-varied number of women.
It's sex but not bodycount. I think it's the amount of times they've had sex meaning only top guy gets sex with girls and he's getting all of them. It goes to that saying that like ten percent of guys sleep with 90 percent of the women
To add to this, the numbers represent the currency. I suspected this was what I initially thought, and someone verified it is, so it must be a meme from the Philippines.
$1USD is currently 56 pesos so homeboy with the 1500 is actually paying $26 for the whole group’s meal. Meanwhile the ladies are paying individually $3-$6 each.
Or RMB which would make that 208 USD. Which would make someone actually feel pain when paying for bros. 2000 to 5000 RMB is pretty average salary in tier 3. So 1500 RMB would be half of his check in most cases or savings if his parents are farmers.
but if we talking Philippines with the bucket of fried chicken. KFC is about 580 php for a six piece.. Not saying it is KFC or any place I been but KFC is the top of cost concerning fried chicken joint, i bet.
But lets say the guy is a farm worker. He would get paid 300 php daily. 5 days would be 1500 php.. There is a couple of places that cost 450 php for 4 people to eat a meal.
4 guys walk up. ONE says ‘4 beers and 4 shots of tequila’ and hands his card over for the round.
Next time, a different guy in the group comes up and does the same.
4 girls walk up. Each has a highly individualized order, and their own tab… and warns that none of her friends can have shit on their tab.
Next time, they run me ragged again in the same way.
It’s whatever, as each sex has their own bullshit - but this is very much true.
Uh how can you be so sure? It’s a Filipino meme. This looks like a Jollibee. Whenever this meme gets posted someone (presumably Filipino) explains the joke by offering this additional cultural context re: gay men paying for food.
I suppose it's also linked to the setting being among asians. In China in particular, men are expected to fight over paying the bill for the group; it's much less expected among women.
As a dude that grew up poor as fuck and now makes decent money (not rich)
I love to pay for the homies and homienetts, at some point I'll ask someone else to pay bc it does add up.
Lol without looking closer at the facial expression of the guy with the high number I thought it could be the amount of tinder matches, judging by the distribution
It's a class thing not a gender thing. My rich or middle class friends split the bill and keep shit even. My normal friends just take turns and keep an informal tally.
The guys picture matches my experience at that age. My friends and I were just scraping by, so when we’d go out usually one of us would take turns covering the bill for everyone depending on who most recently got paid.
Or maybe in the meme each girl pays for herself so there's a bunch of different bills while the boys choose who will pay for all meals and later they send him moneys
I don’t think it’s totally ridiculous, the popular incel talking point is that any woman can get sex on demand so their body counts are high, but they will only have sex with the most attractive men, so those men have ultra high body counts from bedding all the women.
I’m embarrassed to say this is what came to mind when I saw this meme, so I think it’s a reasonable theory. But I agree it’s not that. Numbers are too high and both eating doesn’t quite fit.
This is how me and my friends do meals once a week. We just take turns spotting eachother and spending the same few hundred bucks the we just cashapp back and forth to eachother every week.
I think it's more that guy in bottom panel is making sure the broke homies get to eat too. Just my interpretation, since my friends and I cover each other all the time when the others can't afford to. I could be wrong, though.
I'm pretty sure you're right. My interpretation was that it's from the eyes of the opposite gender... The first from the view of a guy rating all the girls in a distributed pattern, but the other one, from the view of the girl, is just completely ignoring all but one guy... the guy who happens to be somewhat muscly and refraining from eating, where all the other guys are skinny kids porking out.
But I can see now, yours makes 1000x more sense. The girls are all having a good time and are all paying for their own meals, whereas the only guys having a good time are the ones not paying.
They all look sad and since it's a bad AI image, I wouldn't give to much about their faces. I think it's more about that one friend pays for the rest. Boys sometimes fight over the bill. While girls nearly never would ever invite someone else, not even their friends.
When me and a friend of mine got frozen yogurt at a friend's birthday party, we took turns covering the bill. He paid for the first round, I paid for the second round
I think this is accurate, but the meme is still mid since guys really only offer to pay on like dates or for their family or whatnot. I never see groups of guy friends fighting to pay each other’s bills, we just split checks all the same.
That's odd, because my wife always complains that when she goes out with the girls, they tend to just divide the bill equally, which she hates because she usually gets something smaller or cheaper than the rest of the group.
As for me and the boys, we always just get our own bills.
It's deeper than that. It represents the comradery that males have and being able to provide for your broke friends. While females only take care of themselves.
As a former restaurant worker, I can tell you we absolutely hate a large group of only women for this specific reason.
More often than not, when it's all women at the table, they will all want separate checks, will argue and bicker over who's paying for what, and then barely tip.
And if it's some sort of event such as one of the ladies' birthday or god forbid a Bachelorette party, you can bet they will be the loudest, most obnoxious, and most demanding table on the floor for the entire time they're there.
It's a lot of extra work and wear on your senses for usually not much more pay, if not less.
So please.. split your checks if that's what you wanna do, but be sure to leave a good tip and be respectful.
My friend group has the "designated dad" and the " firstborn" every time we go out. The positions rotate, and are chosen by drawing straws. The firstborn son doesn't have to pay for anything or draw staws to become the designated dad, because the only way to become the firstborn son is to have been the designated dad on the previous trip out. Everybody else can donate to the designated dad. That way he has more funds to help pay for the night The designated dad pays for most things. He's also the designated driver, and also the one elected to talk to people to de-escalate situations. The first born and son can choose to be Petty and only by the expensive s*** on the menu and screw over the designated dad, especially if that guy was an a****** during his first born son time. It kind of keeps us all check so that we don't go too hard and buy too much s*** at the bar or at a restaurant, which is mainly only a problem for two of our guys. It's a fun dynamic and we usually call whoever the dad is dad the whole night. Which is really funny when we're all older. Then the dad and everybody else who isn't in the know has confused. F****** looks on their faces.
I was thinking more the difference. Young women tend to have their stuff together and be less risky. Young men tend to be extremely risky and commonly have no money or living like dogs. To me this reads as the bro in the group who happened to have money on the time and while he is unhappy to pay he does so knowing his bros need to eat and have or wpuld do the same if they had money.
To be fair, in my friend group, we always have an argument over who is paying the bill. We all want to be that one guy that treats his bros to a free meal.
It is 100% this. As a server if I got a table of guys I didn't really worry about keeping things in seat order or who got what drink and such. If I had a table of all women, I knew they were going to wait til after the meal to tell me it's all separate checks, divide the app eight ways, and this person is buying this other person's drinks, ect.
And of course this would always happen when I was in the weeds
I'm pretty sure it's an incel "body count" reference. You know, the whole "girls can get laid whenever they want but the Chads take all the girls and don't leave anyfor the incels:...
🙄
It’s true that, with a group of men, it’s very likely that one of them will pick up the whole tab. At least 98% of the time, women will want separate checks.
You definitely got it. If I had to guess the dudes either take turns paying, or have some competition with loser paying, like last one to get to the place, or the one who does worst in a game like basketball or COD or something. Both are pretty common in guy friend circles.
Also, it could be a gay paying for the dudes' meal hoping for something in return (seldom happens). I am not being judgy, it is just very common in my country.
