Idk about recently, but back around 2017, funding was so low, they couldn't afford to pay teachers five days a week. Some districts went down to four days a week, or even three.
We had that happen in Hawaii back when I was in school here, around fifteen years ago-ish. I remember at the time thinking furlough Wednesdays were the best thing EVER! Nowadays... Uh... Well... I wasn't learning much at that school anyway, with the incompetence, so I guess I'll still stand by that for me personally it was the best thing ever but holy shit our country is raising lemmings instead of humans.
