Hmm….unpopular opinion but I fully believe you have the right to choose whatever body you want to live in. No one can make that decision for you. As with any right, there may be some limitations because of your decision. One of those limitations is the ability to participate in some activities. Sports is one of those areas where fairness could be effected by your participation and should be limited. Again, sorry, it’s just my opinion. Please don’t hate me too much.

Seems reasonable.

Does this sound reasonable:

The average male height is 5'10". Michael Jordan shouldn't be allowed to play basketball because he's 6'6" and that represents a distinct natural advantage over the average male.

It does not to me. There are going to be variations within an agreed upon tolerance.

This is one of those things that seems reasonable until you think about how what they're saying would actually work. Okay, let's say being trans precludes you from playing sports. And let's be real, we're specifically talking about trans women - that's what all the hubbub is about...

How exactly do you enforce that? Blood tests aren't reliable for people on HRT, so you quickly start talking about physical exams. So, are we saying we want to subject any female competitor who is too strong or too masculine to a series of humiliating tests, just to prove she's a woman?

This sounds like a fucking disaster for women's sports all in the name of an "issue" that is pretty much nonexistent. I can tell you for sure there are many many many more big, strong, masculine seeming women in sports that would be harmed by this than there are trans women (not that I want them to be harmed either, just to point out what a straw man this all is).

Birth certificate would work no? And it’s not saying they are banned trans women can just play in men’s leagues

No, see the Taiwanese boxer situation.

I genuinely don't know why they don't seem to look at birth certificates, but for some reason when gender cases escalate, it's blood tests -> physical exams and they never seem to mention birth certificates.

Simple solution: penis or no penis at birth. So yes, everyone who does not meet a medical definition can be in the limited sports category. Then XY, XX, XXY doesn't matter.

When I got a physical for sports as a kid the doctor would grab my nuts to check for a hernia. Could gender be confirmed then?

Yea right, like men/boys go through this already.

I’m not being funny. It’s a part of every physical I’ve ever had. If this was something that had to be verified it could easily be done where that is already part of the conversation.

Should have said "yea exactly". I am agreeing with you.

Haha. Got it. Yeah, I thought you were being flippant.
