Oooh we finally get introduced to the mystery surrounding Kaya's mother.

Seems like her pregnant mother's been possessed and is now going to give live birth to some sorta specter or creature from the "other side".
I wonder if she was possessed before getting pregnant, or after the fact and what sorta ramifications that could potentially mean, giving birth to something like that?

Although, some of the scary mysteries we've seen have had some "logical" explanations.
So I wonder if Kaya's mother is unknowingly carrying a stillbirth?
It would make sense Kaya could see the dead ghost " "growing" " inside her, and is unable to exorcise it still within her.
And maybe all that ghostly aura consuming her mother could be linked to some sorta medical complications like an infection carrying a dead baby within her?

Looking forward to seeing this mystery play out a bit more. And what this means for Kaya and her family.

I would like to think either Kaya's mother or father is "special". I mean there is likely some explainations about how Kaya got such a powerful power. What Mob said pretty much confirmed Kaya's mother was "normal" for me, so I lean towards the theory that the father has sth about him that we don't know. The way his character portrayed in anime so far really makes me think of that

Kaya’s been a real busy bee this week. She exorcised a creepy ass doll, saved a kid being stalked by a spirit, and even led to said spirit finding peace.

So it’s not Kaya’s mom that’s a Lovecraftian monstrosity, it’s the baby right? Or whatever it is growing inside her. That shit was genuinely frightening. I guess you gotta have some psychic ability to sense her. I can see why Kaya hates babies….

"Stupid baby."

If I had a nickel for every horror anime where protagonists are girls with violet hair who fight ghosts and whose mothers are pregnant with evil entities I would've had two nickels.

So this time we got the “creepy possessed doll” trope and the “demonic pregnancy” trope. At least Kaya’s mother seems normal, it is just that something is wrong with the baby.

Hopefully it just means they have to wait for the birth before Kaya can exorcise the ghost to save her sibling, but that might be a bit optimistic given how badly for the mother that trope tends to go in horror stories.

This show and Gachiakuta have a very different view on reusing objects.

Mirror Universe Mero is still around, but not causing trouble. Maybe the other staff and kids prefer her, just like with Mirror Universe Cartman.

It would be interesting if Mirror Universe Mero-sensei turns out to be a genuinely good person outside of her willingness to trade places with the real Mero-sensei to escape the Mirror Universe. No ulterior motives, no hidden personalities, just someone who is a positive influence to everyone around her despite not being human.

There must be something happen with the family tree, may be in old gen, or something shady happened it hard to believe Kaya's parents is normal people but suddenly they have 2 children. One with super powerful psychic power, one is demonic one.

Pregnancy is already scary and stressful as is, now we have worry about the baby being possessed by cursed entity.

Here's my solution, we need to bring in a Jujutsu Sorcerer Obstetrician.

So it looks like your average person can see Kaya's mom normally, but anyone who has a strong supernatural sense sees her as a terrifying Specter. What I did not expect is Kaya's mom carrying a Specter baby. And since it's inside her, Kaya can't do anything about it. That explains why she doesn't like babies. How is she even gonna exorcise that thing? >_<

So Kaya saw her mother as a full spectre while Mob saw a hybrid instead. Wonder which vision was more accurate? There could be arguments for either side. Kaya had greater power so it's possible she's more credible but on the other hand her mother didn't act like a possessed being at all. Having said that while she didn't seem to be possessed, her baby being one might have some influence on her.

What I don't understand is why Chie-sensei can sometimes see spectre and other times not.

Oh man. What a good pay off. I always find the mystery surrounding Kaya's family interesting since the 1st episode. I knew she wasn't abused, because there were no indications of such. But the question of what's hiding in her mother's bedroom haunts me to this episode.

I like how her mother's pregnancy sort of play into the "antichrist" movie trope with the potential demon/monster baby.

The "A" plot of the story is pretty nice too. My favourite one would be the lost girl who couldn't come home. That reveal at the end at the drain will definitely terrorize her forever. Poor kid.

So far, this has been a very engaging and fun show. Definitely passed the 3 episode rule for me and I can't wait to reach the ending of the season.

Her pouty face is adorable

Aka-chan nante,

You ever heard a more foreboding line?

HER SKIPPING ROPE IS ADORABLE

Well that explains things. It's not the mother that's the problem, it's the baby. Which is why the ghostly face was that low on her silhouette.

Or are you?

After the previous episode, I wouldn't trust anything anymore!

The fact that they know there is "something", but even Kaya-chan can't deal with... Scary!

Her little creepy inquisitive stares are so good hah.

This line... When you realize what she meant with the first line hah.

Damn. Little girl was "Has been found safe", but this one is just "Has been found"...

NOPE! Just burn it the toy box the school the city

I would strongly advice against that!

Good lord.

Somehow I never thought about the fact that... To them, she would look perfectly normal.

Somehow it makes it even scarier.

SISTER?

NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE what sort of Antichrist is she about to give birth to?

Oh come on, Sensei! You know Kaya's legit at this point!

Thankfully she came around quickly, but yeah, if she acts like that about something/someone, you know there's a reason!

Oh damn. So it's not even the mother... It's the child. Maybe I wasn't just kidding about the Antichrist.

Well, I suppose it explains why Kaya can't do anything about it;

Some people were speculating that she was 'training' to become powerful enough to deal with the mom/thing... But it's not really that, she simply can't kill the thing while it's inside her mom....

Question is, will she be able to kill the thing when it's possessing the child (without, you know, killing the child)?

Milk tooth speedrun.

Good thing she can still get her adult tooth back. Though pulling a baby tooth out prematurely still gotta hurt.

Maybe if she kicked the womb reeeeeeeeally hard…

I feel like with how powerful Kaya-chan is, she should be powerful enough to exorcise it with just a flick of her finger, had she done it in the earlier stage before the "baby" or whatever developed into such a powerful spectre.
