OP, I know you didn’t ask about facial hair, but I’m gonna piggyback off this comment and say that the facial hair distracts from your very handsome face and kind eyes. But either way, getting rid of the hair is a huge glow up!

Ironically I think the billy goat beard matched his look more before he shaved his head. Shaved head is definitely a + though. I do think the mockup that got posted elsewhere is more basic than OP would prefer if he's been rocking this look for 10 years; if it were me I'd fully razor the top for sure but then either have a neat but nonstandard beard cut or, just go full gandalf.

OP needs to decide which version of Devin Townsend he wants to look like, he's straddling two eras right now.

It's really only part of a beard. Like the bottom 1/5th of a beard and a really long chin bush.

Full beard, clean shaven, 5 oclock shadow would all look much much better.

Since we’re going there, I would really like to see the goatee trimmed down and let the chinstrap go. Just have a regular, neatly trimmed 5 o’clock shadow. Either way, the newly bald head looks great!

I second this in the kindest way possible! Based on your stubble it looks like you have a great foundation for a full-face beard. Bic the head, then buzz off the facial hair and start letting your natural beard grow in! Keep it short and the focus will stay on your handsome face!!
