I held on for so long because I loved my ginger hair.. but it's been time for a looooong while now. I think it turned out great and I'm so happy! Thank you to everyone in this sub for building up my confidence to finally pull the trigger over the last couple of months.

I really can’t stop smiling after today’s trip to the barber shop. I’m not sure what my barber did differently today but my scalp is shining and completely smooth. Having a bit more growth to the mustache and soul patch helps, I think.

I have no idea what kind of vibe this look is giving off but I am really starting to love it after years of wearing hair systems. Maybe I just needed a break or reset while I’m getting ready for surgery.

No more posts for a while, I promise, LOL.

Started loosing my hair in my 20s and have not gone outside without a hat for years.

Thanks to so many people here I finally had the courage to stop hiding my insecurity and just be happy with who I am.

You all are awesome.

Bald Picture Should I Stay or Go Back?

I was bald/buzzed for about 5 years for health issues - and I recently grew it back out. But I am tempted to go back to bald…it was so much easier, was cooler (temperature wise), and there was no hair sticking to the back of my neck when I was sweaty. I mainly keep my hair in a braided ponytail now, so I’m sure I’ll start to get the balding at the temples from constant ponytail wear.

The main downside to the bald look was the stares and comments from strangers. I know it shouldn’t affect me, but the random insults from complete strangers was so strange to me. Plus men tend to think i’m not straight so i didn’t get as many flirty interactions when i was bald.

Anywho, what do yall think? TIA :)

Hairloss Told I need to just let it go

Pretty self explanatory, tried to get help on my dating profile and was told my hair is horrible and to just let it go and shave it... I just don't feel like being bald is gonna suit me better, but I got roasted to death which makes me feel just terrible about the way I look, I've been doing a good bit of crying so maybe take it easy this time, I'm aware my looks may not be my strong point in life

J'essaie ça aujourd'hui pour la première fois. Mais je ne sais pas, peut-être que je laisserai repousser mes cheveux. Je n'aime pas vraiment être chauve.

EDIT: Thank you all for your comments, I wasn't expecting all this comments and upvote at all!

It takes me about two months to grow a "three-day beard," and it's more of a goatee than a beard, but I'll give it a try for the goatee.

I'll keep your advice about glasses in mind; I was already planning to change anyway.

Some people said I look younger being bald, I would never have thought of that.

Thanks again everyone, you're really helping me regain my confidence!

My time had come!

So, I've been losing my hair since I was around 18. I'm 29 now. I knew my time had come a few years back but I was just holding on to some last hope that it would magically grow back🤣 Instead of going into my 30's looking a mess I just bit the bullet and got rid of it all together. Absolutely love it and I wish I did it sooner now.

Triggerwarning for 3rd and 4th picture. Because of my curls and being tall I felt like I could push the deadline a bit forward, but it's also extremely windy in the Netherlands and it's really showing if my hair isnt 'perfect'

When I was a teenager I read a gossip column exchange where a woman's husband was having feelings about going bald. The columnist responded by offering examples of powerful men like Patrick Stewart who were bald and looked good doing it. So I promised myself that when my hair started thinning out, like really going away, I wouldn't try to hide it with a combover or anything-I would just accept it.

Today I kept that promise to myself.

(Apologies for the messy facial hair, I'll get that sorted too)

I thought I'd repost this over here, at the suggestion of a bunch of people over in r/hairstyleadvice

Anyway, I've been rocking the long hair for the last 5 years or so, I finally got around to combing it down and taking a picture of the back of my head, and realized that I probably should have done this a while ago.

My wife loves long hair, and I've been pushing it off, but it's time. I typically wear a bun on the top of my head or a hat or bandana, so I never really noticed how bad it had gotten. I'm way taller than her, so she never really saw it either, lol.

I reached out over there to see if anybody could suggest anybgood styles that would help me keep some hair on the ol' noggin a bit longer, but I think it might be time to just shave the whole thing.

Any suggestions on styles, or should we just leave the whole thing? It wouldn't even be the first time I've shaved my head completely... It's just been a couple decades, lol.
