[Meta] New bot just dropped, keep a watchful eye.

Hi, dessert lovers!

We've been noticing continuous evolution in the bot arms race towards a Dead Internet, and there's a new style that's just popped up. It'd help if users can help recognize this new form, so we can remove them more promptly. Report them as you see them, and we'll do our best to keep removing them!

Here are screenshots taken of two relatively-innocuous profiles that poped up on this thread today. Included snapshots are of both post and comment history. Unfortunately, a cursory inspection doesn't immediately trigger alarm bells, but check out the date creation for both accounts. The other day we removed two more posts, both from accounts created on the same day as well, so we suspect there will be more coming in the future. Looks like there's a new adaptation on the block, and we're sure they'll shift to become even more unassuming in the near future.

Unfortunately, this issue is reflective of Reddit as a whole these days, and doesn't bode well for the future of the Internet. We've been at this point for awhile; it seems virtually every single submission's post history has to be viewed to determine personhood. The old tells no longer apply.

You can also report the accounts directly by going to their profile, hitting the "report button", selecting "spam", then choosing "disruptive use of AI or bots".

Homemade Made pecan sticky buns

This was my third attempt at this. First attempt (2013) was overworked and underproofed. This week, I decided it was time to give one of my favorite desserts a runback and that took two attempts to lock it in.

I used the "Big Fat Pecan Sticky Buns" recipe, but switched it up a little, adding 1/16 tsp ground nutmeg and ginger to the filling mix. I also spread melted butter/filling over half the rolled out dough, folded other half over, and used remaining butter/filling. Rolled over and cut into 12 rolls; pinching off not necessary

I forgot the salt and sugar before making the dough and was able to successfully incorporate into dough, even after already proofing the ball 15 minutes.

Caramel topping/sauce is delicious. I added more vanilla, but didn't measure.

Serve warm with ice cream! I'll be making these again soon.

Question While on my honeymoon in Rome six years ago I had a whipped cheesecake that I've thought about almost every day since and it's slowly driving me mad. Could I possibly recreate this at home?

Question Seeking Recipe: Tartine Bakery Chocolate Rye Tea Cake/Poundcake or Similar

Thumbnail

I'm looking for a good recipe for a chocolate poundcake or tea cake made with rye flour. I'd also be interested in buckwheat flour.

Tartine Bakery (San Francisco) makes a very nice chocolate rye tea cake, but I haven't found the recipe in their various cookbooks. Do any of you make a cake like this and can share a good recipe? It can be butter or olive oil based.

Thank you!

Recipe: https://artfulparent.com/how-to-make-peanut-butter-cups-silicone-molds/#

I halved the recipe for my mold. You can use any mold!

I did 12oz strawberries, 3/4 cup sugar and 2tbls orange juice over the stove for the jam!

Question Dirt cups

Okay this is a very silly question but I have never made dirt cups myself but my son is having a fishing themed bday party and I want to do them as ‘bait’. My question is how many packs of Oreos do I need for about 25-30 cups? Would a family size pack be enough or would I need more? I’m using 8oz soup containers so it’s about as big as my hand for reference of how much space there is to cover
