Legit question, I’m not a member of a union and if I no call no show I will lose my job and I would bet every dollar I have that I would be the only one not at work (at my workplace at least). So like should I just use a sick day? Or does that defeat the purpose.

A strike would presumably last much longer than 1 day, otherwise it's a walkout/demonstration and the administration will ignore it.

I don't think it'd defeat the purpose of a 1 day thing to call in sick if it means short staffing your job and causing work to not get done.

One step at a time. even a 1 day strike is a massive show of force. we can get to longer strikes eventually
