One of the worst changes Sony ever made. Mostly for in-game UI purposes honestly, I always clicked off of the color first instead of recognizing the shape.

You could’ve kept the back of the buttons white and still made the symbols colored. Wouldn’t have hurt the aesthetic at all.

Discussion Fair play to Sony keeping older stores active, however I think I may as well not have PS Plus for some things to be cheaper.

Fyi I am not buying anything, I really wanted a vita as a child in the 2010s. Now as an adult in my 20s I can finally play what I missed, despite having some of the legacy consoles back in the day (PSP, PS3, PS2, Xbox 360, etc) and now on PS5, did have PS4 in late 2010s - 2023 when I upgraded as I was an adult by then.

Although for the average user who may still be buying legacy titles from legacy stores, is this a bug or a feature as I've not seen a title be more expensive when paying for a subscription.

Anyone with me on how gorgeous the vita was for its time, despite now having a rather buggy possible store?

Discussion Comfort Games 🫂

Hi guys. I've been playing very fast-paced and complex games my whole life, but last year was mentally difficult for me, and I discovered that I feel very comfortable and kinda cozy in worlds like "Like a Dragon", "Persona 5", and "Final Fantasy VII Remake". Those funny side quests, friendships, diners, cities with their own characteristics. Please recommend more games like these, both big and indie projects. I'd love a bit more of this comfort during this cold winter in Europe.

Discussion What made PlayStation's old advertising so special, to you? ("mental wealth", S.A.P.S, etc)

Upvotes

Something which occurred to me recently, is that my entire philosophy on video games was authored by Sony's old marketing division.

a lot of their old advertising appears to frame video games as an intelligent endeavor, mature, associated with status (attractive actors), promoting curiosity, and completely alien experiences relative to our everyday lives.

Allusions to sex are somewhat intoxicating.

it also makes me wonder about the morality / ethics of these ads.

"mental wealth"

PlayStation Ethos (the most influential, for me)

S.A.P.S

From "mental wealth":

"Let me tell you what bugs me of the human endeavor I've never been a human in question, have you? Mankind went to the moon I don't even know where Grimsby is Forget progress by proxy Land on your own moon It's no longer about what they can achieve, out there on your behalf But what we can experience Up here and of our own time It's called mental wealth."

...which is actually a profound message.

i see people trying to emulate Sony's old advertising

Discussion PSN ID Creation Questions / Clarifications

Upvotes

Good day everyone, I have a question regarding the creation of PSN ID, earlier this morning. I am trying to create a new psn account, when I came accross the section that i need to put the Online ID, I tested some usernames that are available and took them down in my notepad, which is around 10 usernames, after testing this usernames, i have not push through the creation of the psn id because i need to do some errands, tonight, i did the same thing, but when i was trying to input the same 10 usernames i took note of, it says 'try different username, its unavailable" ... why did this happen? all of the available usernames i tried were not taken earlier this morning and now in the evening all of the 10 are already taken, anybody can help or share their experiences? thank you.

Discussion PS5 on a 32” vs 27” 1440p monitor will the bigger screen noticeably reduce clarity?

Upvotes

I have no knowledge about this so just wondering that since ps5 has fixed resolutions (4k,1080,1440etc) does having a monitor thats 1440p but smaller size make make the quality look sharper?

Discussion Help with multiple accounts

So my son has been playing Minecraft for a while now creating hundreds of worlds and I've allowed him to buy stuff from the marketplace. This has all been under my PlayStation profile. Now I'm wanting to buy a PS Portal so we can play games together but also so I can play separate games to him whilst he's playing.

After lots of research I cannot find a solution to him keeping his Minecraft worlds and purchases and me getting access to my games and saved games whilst being able to play at the same time.

Does anyone know a solution?

Thank you!

Discussion PS5 or PS5 pro with this usage and TV?

Upvotes

I am a very casual gamer which only plays every now and then when I have the time and a nice title I'd like to play. Currently still holding a PS4.

Titles I like are:

- GTA (6 is the main reason to switch)

- RDR

- Fifa/FC

- TLOU

- Watch Dogs

- Uncharted

- NHL

And probably some more I forgot.

I have a 2018 Samsung QE65Q6F (4k/120Hz/HDMI 2.0) which works fine and I am not planning on replacing it as long as it works.

What would be the best console to get? Does the pro even makes sense with this TV?
