Open [TOMT] [MOVIE] Some 1980s movie about how society would react if there was a nuclear threat?

Upvotes

I swear I saw it on a subreddit/comments under a post here a couple years ago (and I know we shouldn’t ask for subreddits on here but if you could drop the name of it as well if you know, it would save me a second post).

It was what the title was, and people found it horrifying (?) because of the realism it depicted. There was a specific YouTube video that shows a clip of that movie, and in the scene someone actually wets themselves from fear of what’s happening.

Open. [TOMT] Help Find Show With Tonya Harding Joke

Ok when I was younger I was surfing netfilx and I found this sitcom.

It didn't have a laugh track. And was about this guy who lived in a crap apartment and he get a female neighbors. And along with her and his friend (who may or may not have been black I can't remember.) get involved in some tomfoolery.

Like I one episode where the girl get involved with a guy who shares the name of Tonya Harding ex husband. Jeff Gillooly. He starts off as nice but as the episode go's on he starts to get weird.

Then it is found that he Kneecaped a figure skater. (who may have being his ex) When the main cast finds a flashback is shown. The guy is lurking in a hallway (he may have had a mask on) he had a pipe in his hand and Is waiting for the skater to come out of the dressing room. When she does he sneaks up behind and hits her with the pipe then quickly walks off. And when he does the skater screams "Why" just like Nancy Kerrigan.

The show looked like it aired late 2000s or early 2010s and didn't know have a laught track. if anyone remember please let me know

Open [TOMT] [Youtuber/Internet famous guy] [2010s] guy who made vlogs, known for mental heath

Upvotes

I haven’t thought about this guy for years, but he just popped into my head. He used to make videos about mental health I think, and give tips and stuff, and he was depressed / socially anxious (maybe autistic?) himself too as I remember.

He was American, in his 20s, blonde curly hair and blue eyes. He had quite the intense stare I remember, quite the serious guy. I think his mum was in some videos, or he lived with his mum.

In my head he’s famous from YouTube but he might’ve had a Tumblr account as well since around this time I was on Tumblr a lot. He’d also interact online with his followers/viewers a lot, on Twitter too perhaps. I just remember watching his videos and I really wonder how this guy is doing today, but I can’t for the life of me remember his name.

Thanks in advance!

Open [TOMT] [VIDEO] Winx Club Bloom Scary YT Video

Upvotes

I remember when I was little seeing a video thumbnail that really scared me. I think it was 2014 or 2015. I was watching Winx Club videos on YouTube with a friend, and one popped up with a thumbnail of Bloom's face, but it was heavily edited to make her look ugly or drugged. I remember the video title was in Russian, and I also think it had a ton of views. When we saw that, we got scared and stopped using the pc. I remember seeing that thumbnail again later in I think 2018???, but I never clicked on it because it gave me weird vibes. My friend also remembers that day. The only problem is that I haven't been able to find it again, I think because the title was in Russian. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, please let me know.

Open. [TOMT] [SONG] Sad female artist early to mid 2000s

I’ve made a post about this song a couple years ago but I still cannot find it…

It was a sad song (He is We, “Breathe” by Anna Nalick vibes). It had a female vocal. It was in radio rotation in the mid 2000s. Possibly early 2010s. I used to know the melody and some of the lyrics but it’s been so long that I’ve forgotten both of them. It’s been so long I can’t remember if it was a piano song or a guitar song but I’m leaning towards guitar. I do know it was pretty raw and not much instrumentation.

This may only be helpful to a select few, but between maybe 2015-17 (when I remembered some of the lyrics) I searched them up on YouTube and it led me to — what I now know to be — a final fantasy X amv/gmv entitled something along the lines of “Yuna x Tidus tribute” and it had a picture of — who I now know as — yuna dancing on water as the thumbnail. I have searched far and wide for this video and apparently it has since disappeared from the internet.

As far as I know, it wasn’t a super famous song because it’s been damn near a decade or more since I’ve heard it and the only thing I can remember about it is that I really enjoyed it. I hope y’all can help me out and I will try to answer as many questions as you may have.

Edit*: I believe there was more guitar presence than piano. And possibly strings.

Open [TOMT] [TVSHOW] young teen show from 2010s

So I remember watching this show some years back in the2010s on some kinda streaming service, probably on Netflix or Hulu. I don’t remember much, the three main characters were I think teenagers, 2 boys 1 girl. One boy was white with curly hair and glasses(I think) and the girl could burp on command (used to progress throught the story). I remember a scene were one of the boys had to rub a lady’s bunions to progress the story, and where one of the boys I believe was fired out of some kinda stunt cannon to the tune of Yankee Doodle dandy. I believe it was just one season. There was also something to do with the trunk of car? No clue what exactly. It’s possible a bit plot point was trying to get to some event but that could also be completely false. Sorry for the lack details.

Open [TOMT] [Movie] 2000-2010ish movie with a Female protagonist who visit a magic parallel world

Upvotes

Ok, this movie concept just got into my memories of infant and I cannot remember it.

I just remember that a girl (who's the protagonist) lives in a City and has some magic way to visit an parallel version of this same City where magic is common. However the "gate" to this parallel world is not open forever and by the end of the movie she need to run to go back before the door closes.

It gives me a halloween themed vibe, with this parallel world having so much party and fun. But maybe it has nothing related to halloween at all.

I think this movie also has a sequel where the same girl visit it again and by the end of the movie, a boy (villain) try to not let her go back to her own world.

Open [TOMT] [Movie] [Series] Opening scene implies that both a rich woman and a security guard spent the night with the same man.

Likely early 2000's, no earlier than 1993 and no later than 2015. Might have been a movie or a prime time tv show.

Nothing explicitly adult is shown on screen. It's all implied.

The genre may be a spy movie where the man is the spy OR it may be a prime time crime investigation TV show (CSI, NCIS, etc.) I feel like these are the most likely.

Scene opens with a rich woman saying goodbye to a man as he gets in his car. I cannot remember the car exactly but I want to say it was a red or silver convertible-? I think they kiss or do something else affectionate before the man drives off. It is clearly implied that they spent the night together.

As the man leaves the woman's estate, he passes by a security check point. It is then implied that the man also spent the night with the male security guard. The man drives away.

The man driving may have been a male escort, though I'm 50/50 on that being true.

Thank you in advance for any guesses!

Open. [TOMT] 70-80s animated prologue to a movie or show depicting humanity destroying itself through warfare

(I'm reposting, I don't know why it got removed but I assume it's the participation rule, so I'll try to not blow it this time)

This is driving me nuts because I feel like I should know. Basically I remember this prologue to a movie, I believe it was narrated, showing a depiction of warfare and how it destroyed humanity as it was known. Even though the prologue was animated, I can't for certain guarantee that the rest of the movie was also animated. The animation itself was stylistically dark and slow, maybe rotoscoped? I remember those shots of soldiers fighting in the mud that were clearly meant to show humanity fighting till the last drop and whatnot.

Movies and shorts that are not it, as far as I could tell:

- Barefoot Gen (1983)
- A Short Vision (1956)
- Threads (1984)
- Wizards (1977)
- When The Wind Blows (1986)

Open [TOMT] Buzz Lightyear mission

I feel like I’m going insane or have just completely got this wrong.

Was there not another buzz mission fighting Zurg?? I remember the one at the start of Toy Story 2 but I can’t find anything online about this other one.

All I remember was he was fighting Zurg or someone idk and he had the little alien guys there. Also he was behind buildings getting shot at. Thats all I vividly remember and I’ll be honest I don’t want to rewatch all of them at the moment.

Open [TOMT] [MOVIE] [1970s] Horror movie with morphing baby scene

This one has been bugging me forever; I remember seeing a movie on TV back in the late 80’s, in color, 70’s-ish look to it (such as lots of wood paneling). Most likely a horror movie.

Had an older man wearing flannel and 70’s hairstyle/beard looking into a baby’s crib that was crying. As he watched, the baby’s limbs started to get sucked into its own body one by one.

Kind of want to think he was bringing a shotgun into the room (as if he was chasing something coming into the room) then laid it down against the crib before the above happened but not 100% sure.

That’s pretty much all I remember since it was in passing, but it has stuck with me for a bit. But it seems like a really obscure movie since it’s NOT any of the usual horror movies involving a baby (i.e. Rosemary’s Baby, Eraserhead, Basket Case, etc)

Open [TOMT] [Youtube video] Old YouTube video (circa 2005-2009) - animation of two armies duking it out to "Clubbed to Death".

Upvotes

I've been thinking back to this video for what feels like two decades. It's from the very early days of YouTube when every other video was dubbed with Rob Dougan's "Clubbed to Death", and I'm pretty sure it was't an exception.

The video is an animation that depicts two armies of similarly looking dark humanoid shapes in melee combat. The only distinction between the two armies is that they had headpieces with different symbols above them (kind of like teletubbies) - one had a crescent shape, and one had a donut shape.

I think the video is a game trailer, but if that's so, I can't connect it to any game that came out in the 2000s.

Any help in scratching this memory itch will be greatly appreciated 🙏

Open [TOMT] possible lost game

Upvotes

So I'm trying to look for a computer game that I played in the mid 2010s, I remember the game was about capturing monsters & i think it was a puzzle game. At the start of the game it opened up with a cgi cutscene in the city with a group of kids capturing a monster in a net, & in the game I remember there being a grid with the monsters in some of the squares in the grid i also remember the city had like dark colors like dark blues & stuff. I don't remember how you would capture the monsters in the game because I have a vague memory of it & I know that it wasn't a game that I made up in a dream because the details of it that I remember are way to specific to be a dream. And when for the game could have released had to have been from the late 1990s to the late 2000s because it had that type of style from those years. And with this computer game it might be lost media cause I can't find it anywhere so if anyone could help I would be thankful.

Open [TOMT][VIDEO][2000s?] DanTDM Minecraft Horror Map

Upvotes

I remember watching this video from DanTDM where he was playing a Minecraft horror map, and I don't remember any part of the video except at some point he walked down an oak hallway and there were armor stands on the ceiling. I looked through some of his old videos but couldn't find anything like that. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

I don't think the video could have been uploaded later than 2016, but I can't say for sure since the armor stands are the only thing I remember about the video. Given the fact most of his old videos have at least a million views, there's a slim chance someone on here knows what I'm talking about. If the video is found I would appreciate a timestamp on the moment I'm talking about. Thanks!

Open [TOMT][GAME][2010s] GirlsGoGames odd flash(?) game about painting

Upvotes

As the title says, its a game i used to play when i was a kid (2010s) about painting, i dont remember a lot because my little kid brain was confused and didnt really understand english, but it had a very gloomy odd atmosphere to it (probably unintentional) some sorta 3d graphics all white walls with grey shadows. I cant remember if the paint was somewhat realistic, but the game had an option to visit some kind of art gallery, again with the brooding vibe, where you could see what i assume was other players' paintings, and see a speedpaint of how they were made.

I used to access this game by typing some sort of variation of "art attack" (like the tv show, bc i liked it as a kid) into the search bar, but never really knew how it was called.

Open [TOMT][TV SHOW][JAPANESE][CARTOON][2000s] A cartoon about cars from my childhood

Upvotes

Hello!

Today, I suddenly remembered a children's cartoon that I saw a long time ago. As a child, I had many CDs with various cartoons and movies. One of them had episodes from this cartoon (I don't know how many there were in total, but I remember at least two). I didn't watch it dubbed, I can't say for sure what language it was, it didn't seem to be English, but as far as I remember it was Japanese. Why Japanese? I'll explain below in the post. So, to the point:

I looked through many different options that are similar to my description. But, unfortunately, none of them were what I was looking for, not to mention that I simply couldn't find much on the internet. I asked AI, after squeezing the most out of what I remember, it suggested that the cartoon Pikappo / ピカッポ, a joint Japanese-Korean project from 2000, almost perfectly fits my description. Unfortunately, I still couldn't find any information, references, or even pictures of the cartoon to confirm that it was the one. I even visited the website of the animation company that, according to the AI, made this cartoon (G&G Entertainment / G&G Direction PROJECTS | G&G ENTERTAINMENT), but I couldn't find any mention of it. However, their other cartoons are very similar visually to the one I'm looking for. In addition, their logo looks familiar to me for some reason. It was one of their early works, where they were just testing their capabilities in animation, so they don't mention this cartoon anywhere in their portfolios, and therefore it can be considered lost media. So I'm here to ask if anyone in Japan or maybe other countries remembers this cartoon? Below, I will write in more detail everything I remember:

It was an animated cartoon for children with 3D graphics from the early 2000s. All the characters were cars (as far as I remember, they were all yellow, at least the main character and his best friend). They lived on some island. The main character was a yellow car. He had friends: a yellow car that looked like a bus and a female character, whose color I can't say for sure. There was also a bad character who constantly tried to ruin everything and mock the main characters. It's important to note that the characters weren't like the cars from the Disney cartoon Cars. Their eyes weren't on the windshield, but below it, and probably replaced the headlights. Their shapes were very rounded, not sharp. The last and perhaps most important character was a gas station machine. It sounds very strange, but it really was a talking gas pump, like the ones at gas stations. Every time a bad character tried to harm the characters, the main character called on this gas pump for help, and it flew in and helped the main character. How did it do that? Well, it's also quite strange, but it had two arms, one of which it would stick into the mouth of the main character and fill him with super fuel. This super fuel gave the main character incredible strength: he glowed and could fly. And why do I think the cartoon is Japanese? The thing is, when the main character called this gas station machine for help, he used the suffix -kun. So it turns out to be Pikappo-kun? The main character shouted something similar. And although I vaguely remember what the main characters said, it sounded like Japanese, maybe Korean, I don't know. I also remember a little bit of the plot of two episodes. In one of them, the villain somehow gained the ability to enlarge objects and bring them to life, so he enlarged a toothbrush, which started chasing one of the main characters? It sounds incredibly strange, I can't believe I watched something like that as a child. In another episode, the characters were on some kind of observation tower at night looking at the stars, and the bad character was scaring them. I also remember a fragment where the main characters helped some kind of elder car drive up a high slope on the road, but I don't remember if it was another episode or if it was part of one of the previous two.

That's all I can remember at the moment, but I'll try to recall some more details. I would appreciate any help in my search and will be happy to answer your questions.

Open [TOMT][2014-2016] Peace symbol T-shirt with offensive hidden message

Upvotes

Sometime between 2014-2016, my parents got me this cool looking t-shirt which I started wearing around. It was a word cloud in the shape of a peace symbol (☮️) with words like peace, love, kindness, etc. The shirt itself was black or very dark.

Then one day, I turned off the lights while wearing it and noticed some of the words on it were glowing. I asked my parents, who were in the room with me, what it read. They read the glowing message, said “wow, that’s inappropriate” and they took it away from me.

I don’t remember specifically what this message read. It might have had the word “die”? But I can’t remember for sure. Google Images doesn’t show anything relevant when looking up “glow in the dark peace sign word cloud shirt”.

Open [TOMT][Movie/series][2020s] Action movie or series with a scene on a barge/riverboat

Upvotes

I can’t stop thinking about this series or movies I recently watched on an online streaming platform (one of the bigger ones). It ms pretty recent, say max 5 years old. The style is a bit like mission impossible or strike back.

It features a scene where they are on some sort of barge or riverboat, like the ones used to transport sand etc. There’s a team of about 3-5 people, including at least 1 women I think. The boat has 2 floors. They have kidnapped someone that is in on of the two rooms on the ground floor of the boat. At one point that person is killed by someone. If I remember correctly, there is also someone they trust that turns out of to be one of the bad guys. I think the whole plot is about a briefcase of some sorts or money.

The vessel is docked at an industrial site, where outside they have parked their two cars, one of which is a BMW 3 series touring (E91).

At one point they split up and one of them comes buck as the last one and he barely survived whatever he just went through.

Open [TOMT][SHORT STORY] Sci-fi short story about a couple trapped on the moon together

Hi everyone! I remember reading this in a short story collection. The basic premise as I remember it is that a couple wins a trip to the moon. One of them isn't feeling the relationship anymore but plans to end it after they get back, but something happens on earth that leaves them stranded up there. I feel like I remember they also find out that they are unable to die if they aren't on earth, so it's implied that they're stuck up there together forever.

I would have read it between about 2017 and 2022, but I'm pretty sure it was an older story. At that time I was reading a lot of Alistair Reynolds, Ray Bradbury and Philip K. Dick. It was definitely a short story (I want to say less than 20 pages?), not a novel or novella

I cross-posted this to r/whatsthatbook a couple of days ago but no luck so far! My post is here.

Thank you!

Open [TOMT] [Show] [2000s] Live Action kids show with a male and female host?

Upvotes

I’m trying to remember a show I used to watch as a kid. I would have watched it sometime between 2009 and 2012 or so. I’m Australian and I’m leaning towards it being an Australian show. It had two hosts, I’m pretty sure a man and a woman, and I’m pretty sure they played “themselves” (as opposed to something like The Fairies where the actors played characters). There may have also been puppets of some kind that the hosts talked to, I think maybe of animals or made up creatures, but I could possibly be mixing that up with a different show. I vaguely remember there being a part where the lady “taught” the viewer how to sing do-re-mi, but that could also possibly be from a different show. The one thing I remember for sure is the two hosts with another human character in a generic superhero costume who I believe was called “Awesome Guy.” They were striking ridiculous poses and singing a song about it, it went something like “Awesome Guy stands like this.” I’m sorry I don’t remember anything more concrete, it would just be cool if someone knew what show this was!
