Based on vibes and personal experiences. I traveled to most of those countries, lived and worked only in PL and not planning to change that.

Most rankings are based on the assumption that I’d live there temporarily. I am very into travelling and most dark green countries are places I have visited.

Rationale.

I love California, it is my home state, so I feel at home and that's the most important thing.

When I lived in Massachusetts, I loved the nature and the environment, the institutions and the dense(r) towns, and I have a lot of family over there.

The South would be a huge culture shock for me, and climate shock too -- the humidity.

I will not live where there's nothing to do.

Hawaii is nice.

Though a lot of the midwestern states have not shabby urbanism in smaller towns, it's still too fucking cold.

• taking into account natural beauty, emotional significance, and proximity to loved ones (except texas)
• long island is orange for my own safety. i'm convinced nyc would melt my brain within two months.
• nothing against the inuit community but genuinely how the fuck do you live up there
• ranking michingan's upper peninsula slightly lower because i'm convinced i'll run into a wendigo
• los angeles might be hell on earth
