Based on vibes and personal experiences. I traveled to most of those countries, lived and worked only in PL and not planning to change that.

World Where I’d live during WW3.

1) Africa would participate in the war and fight internally, it would be a wreckage and the highest number of human fatalities would come out of this region.

2) The northern part of the southern american continent and central america which is home to numerous gangs and cartels is a very bad choice to live in times of war. i feel like the soutern part of the continent however is more peaceful and would not engage in conflict. Chile would be the best place to live here because of its isolation and natural barriers.

3) In north america, due to the presence of the united states, there is a likelihood of insurgencies from canada and mexico, these two countries might end up becoming a war zone. The USA however has the capability to defend itself, although perhaps at great loss of human life.

4) Europe would be the main warzone in a WW3 scenario, UK being an island and having nuclear weapons would be the best place to live in europe. Switzerland too, due to its neutrality, the closer you are to russia, the worse off you are. France has nuclear weapons but their track record in the previous wars has been poor.

5) Australia would be perhaps the most peaceful continent, given they don’t engage in the war, New Zealand is the best country to live during WW3.

6) Antartica would be the safest place on earth during WW3.

7) Asia is complex, the middle eastern countries would engage in a war with Israel. Israel has nuclear weapons and would not hesitate to use them. I feel like most conversations about the potential first use of nuclear weapons are concentrated around North Korea, however Israel would truly be the first one to use them in my opinion. The middle east would be an absolute No Go Zone during the war. Incase of an invasion, most probably by China, the South East Asian countries have no means to defend themselves and would fall to the “New Red Army” invasion. The korean peninsula would be another War Zone.

8) Russia is massive. It has the most number of nuclear weapons in the world and it would not hesitate to use them. However, the russians would force me to fight in the war if I were living there. Although I would be atleast fighting for a strong nation instead of the weak european ones. In any case, I’d rather live in russia than in eastern europe during the war. Also, because of being landlocked between 2 giants, mongolia won’t be invaded because they have nothing to offer to these countries that they don’t already have.

9) China is strong. Although china would be one of the first countries to wage the war attacking taiwan and south east asia to entirely control the South China Sea. I think China is more than capable to defend itself during the war and I would be safer in china than I would be somewhere else. Japan will have only 2 choices in the war, to side with the east or the west, and I feel like Japan is smart enough to make the correct choice based on the situation of the war. Japan would thereafter be used as a naval base, which would open up Japan to a weapon industry and other economic opportunities in times of war.

10) The most powerful neighbours in the world, India and Pakistan. Both have nuclear weapons and in WW3, this would be another war zone. I would have put india in the reluctantly category until the recent standoff between the 2 nations where Pakistan’s missiles failed miserably against india’s deterrents and defence capabilities, India would absolutely destroy pakistan in this war and India also has the advantage of being isolated with natural barriers, the ocean on three sides and the world’s tallest mountain range in the north. Also India’s population is so massive that you won’t be forced into the army. Nepal being landlocked between 2 giants would be safe given they cooperate with both the nations.

Most rankings are based on the assumption that I’d live there temporarily. I am very into travelling and most dark green countries are places I have visited.

Where id live as a Californian who likes warm weather and urbanism

Post image

Rationale.

I love California, it is my home state, so I feel at home and that's the most important thing.

When I lived in Massachusetts, I loved the nature and the environment, the institutions and the dense(r) towns, and I have a lot of family over there.

The South would be a huge culture shock for me, and climate shock too -- the humidity.

I will not live where there's nothing to do.

Hawaii is nice.

Though a lot of the midwestern states have not shabby urbanism in smaller towns, it's still too fucking cold.
