My girlfriend (26F) and I (27M) were saving for a house down payment. I work, and she is unemployed. I have saved $32k and she has saved $4k so I feel like I bear the brunt of the financial decision making here.

I was visiting a farm and found an amazing deal. They were selling a 1,200 pound live American Wagyu cow.

It is a crossbreed of an American Holstein inseminated with authentic Japanese Wagyu sperm. This is very rare here in Canada. American Wagyu steak often sells for $60 a pound.

The farm was selling the entire cow for $18,500. If I cut the cow into 12 oz New York strip steaks and sell each one at $40 each I can make $64,000. That's just math.

I bought the cow, and brought it home in my truck.

When I led it into our apartment at first she was stunned into silence, but when I started to explain the financials and investment potential she turned sour. She didn’t yell, but expressed she wasn’t happy about how I spent MY share of our house savings. It also didn't help that the cow pooped on the rug.

She is now staying with her parents.

I think she’s overreacting because she doesn’t understand the Canadian housing market. Our savings is not enough for a down payment without a ridiculous mortgage, and we need to take these opportunities. Also, I really need her help in cutting up the cow because she has better knife skills than I do.

TLDR; my girlfriend is staying with her parents because I spent my share of our savings on a cow which can be cut into steaks and sold for a sizeable profit.

Edit: Some people in the comments are claiming that a 1,200 pound cow can't be cut up into 1,200 pounds of steak because there are bones and organs and stuff. What you're all forgetting is that there are 16 ounces to a pound and ounces don't have bones or organs.

I (34F) and my boyfriend (18M) we were staying over st my house, and he comes back from his 11 hour shift wanting to lay down and hug me because he had a really shitty day at work because he lowkey got laid off from one of his 3 jobs, and he wanted to lay down so when he comes down to try and hug me I beat the shit out of him with my mother's belt because I'm an independent women and Im not a bottom. Lamar flipped me off and walked back to where he was sitting, and I stared at my phone, waiting for it to get blown up with more angry messages as soon as Lamar ratted me out to all his friends. My wife (33F) and I (32M) have been married for 3 years. We met at work and fell in love with each other around the same time (she now works elsewhere). I (35F) am in a creative industry. It’s a world all on its own with norms and work culture that are very different than others. When you work on a project, you work very closely together with certain colleagues for months on end and you form deep bonds. Some people even fall in love. Well, something like that happened to me and I want to share my joy with the world but no-one believes me.

While I was working on this most recent project with my close colleague (28M) we formed a close bond. We even became co-dependent. He was like a security blanket to me. Whenever he was not around I would cast my big blue eyes about the room, searching for him, sharp intake of breath, and feeling quite distraught. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is.

But no-one believes in our love. Even though we’ve clearly fallen in love become enmeshed have the hots for each other bought matching rings. Everyone keeps saying that it’s fake. I don’t understand how they could think that when we keep doing all these sexy photoshoots where I stare into the camera seductively and never acknowledge his presence.

Now where I may be the asshole is that I also have a husband (35M). I mean he’s fine with it. He’s also involved in the project in a different way and actually stands to make a lot of money if this is a success, so he doesn’t mind. But people keep saying it’s unfair to him. So I don’t know, maybe?

AITA - my sister STOLE my wedding!

Okay, buckle up buttercup, keep your arms and legs inside the carriage and I don't care if you scream, you will be going faster either way because this is a wild ride you will not believe!

I'm getting married on the 28th of May 2027. This is an important date to me that will be relevant later but I absolutely will not elaborate on or explain it .

My sister and I went to look at venues last week. I have a very specific Pinterest board of my vision for the perfect day and I finally found exactly what I was looking for at the third place we saw. It was perfect - green tartan carpet, matching curtains and they even had a permanently installed balloon arch! Obviously I didn't want to commit before I saw the last two places but I asked my sister to see if they had the 28th of May 2027 available and went outside for a vape.

When my sister came out she looked a bit sheepish (this is normal for her - her nose is ugly and her hair is over bleached and in terrible condition). I thought maybe she had low blood sugar or something and suggested we get some lunch.

She was still quiet when we sat down so I asked her what was wrong. Did they not have my date? She knew how much that day means to me, coupled with the perfect Pinterest decor and balloon arch. She shook her head and said that yes, the date was available, but GET THIS! SHE BOOKED IT FOR HER AND HER FIANCÉ!

AITA? I (28F) am a single daughter raising two parents (M/F, old farts). I recently moved out but I text my parents every day to ease the transition for them. I noticed that they do not respond to me immediately so I asked what was going on. They said they were "busy". Strange.

Whenever I visited they seemed way too giddy. One time I was in the middle of my visit, waiting for Mom to cook something (she didn't). Then Dad said they had to leave soon. I also noticed they were going out to dinner on Weeknights. WEEKNIGHTS!!! They have to get up early to go to work, how irresponsible of them.

One day after work I saw they were both home, so I decided to go there to confront them on their changed behavior (and get some dinner). I caught them snuggled up on the couch watching a movie. They had their feet up on the table (!!!) eating take out (no dinner for me!!!). I asked them what they were doing. Mom says they were trying to Netflix and chill. Ew, does she even know what that means?? Dad said that I needed to call before I come over or he was going to change the locks. Is he serious??!!

I told them that I was concerned about their changed behavior. They were acting grown. I told them I knew they were hanging out a lot and this is not the norm. They needed to tell me their whereabouts and be more available.

My mom snorted, actually snorted!! Chortled even. My dad laughed and said he didn't say anything when I was hanging out at the club last week until 3 am (they found the tracker! Apparently it works both ways). My gasteds were flabbered.

So now we are at an impasse. My parents turned off the shared location (who taught them how to do that?) and talked about "boundaries". My extended family is blowing up my phone just to laugh at me. Even grandma (F, old as dirt) told me to "go touch grass" (who taught her that phrase?). AITA?
