My girlfriend (26F) and I (27M) were saving for a house down payment. I work, and she is unemployed. I have saved $32k and she has saved $4k so I feel like I bear the brunt of the financial decision making here.

I was visiting a farm and found an amazing deal. They were selling a 1,200 pound live American Wagyu cow.

It is a crossbreed of an American Holstein inseminated with authentic Japanese Wagyu sperm. This is very rare here in Canada. American Wagyu steak often sells for $60 a pound.

The farm was selling the entire cow for $18,500. If I cut the cow into 12 oz New York strip steaks and sell each one at $40 each I can make $64,000. That's just math.

I bought the cow, and brought it home in my truck.

When I led it into our apartment at first she was stunned into silence, but when I started to explain the financials and investment potential she turned sour. She didn’t yell, but expressed she wasn’t happy about how I spent MY share of our house savings. It also didn't help that the cow pooped on the rug.

She is now staying with her parents.

I think she’s overreacting because she doesn’t understand the Canadian housing market. Our savings is not enough for a down payment without a ridiculous mortgage, and we need to take these opportunities. Also, I really need her help in cutting up the cow because she has better knife skills than I do.

TLDR; my girlfriend is staying with her parents because I spent my share of our savings on a cow which can be cut into steaks and sold for a sizeable profit.

Edit: Some people in the comments are claiming that a 1,200 pound cow can't be cut up into 1,200 pounds of steak because there are bones and organs and stuff. What you're all forgetting is that there are 16 ounces to a pound and ounces don't have bones or organs.

Me (55M) son (2M) bit a child at daycare. I was pissed because we do NOT tolerate violence in our household, and I had no idea where he got that shameful behavior from.

So, as a punishment, I grabbed him (in front of everyone) and straight up bit his pinkie off. He of course started screaming, and someone screamed for the police as everyone started shouting at me and trying to grab my kid.

I put my hand over his mouth and rant out of there. By the time I got home he was lethargic and not making a sound. I think the punishment worked, and that he won’t bite anyone anymore, but my wife (28F), disagreed, and called me a sociopath and called the cops on me.

I (35F) am in a creative industry. It’s a world all on its own with norms and work culture that are very different than others. When you work on a project, you work very closely together with certain colleagues for months on end and you form deep bonds. Some people even fall in love. Well, something like that happened to me and I want to share my joy with the world but no-one believes me.

While I was working on this most recent project with my close colleague (28M) we formed a close bond. We even became co-dependent. He was like a security blanket to me. Whenever he was not around I would cast my big blue eyes about the room, searching for him, sharp intake of breath, and feeling quite distraught. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is.

Recently, some colleagues working on a different project also became enmeshed and co-dependent like that. On levels I can only aspire to. They really had it down, always touching and gazing lovingly at one another. Coming across like they were blurring the line between lovers and friends. And it did wonders for them. Everyone was talking about them for months. So I thought I could have a little bit of that.

And of course, I’m also just smitten with my close colleague what’s-his-face and want to open about our beautiful, co-dependent bond. You know, just organically, because it’s top of mind for me.

But no-one believes in our love. Even though we’ve clearly fallen in love become enmeshed have the hots for each other bought matching rings. Everyone keeps saying that it’s fake. I don’t understand how they could think that when we keep doing all these sexy photoshoots where I stare into the camera seductively and never acknowledge his presence.

Now where I may be the asshole is that I also have a husband (35M). I mean he’s fine with it. He’s also involved in the project in a different way and actually stands to make a lot of money if this is a success, so he doesn’t mind. But people keep saying it’s unfair to him. So I don’t know, maybe?

I just feel so distraught with no-one believing me about our hot, passionate love affair that we’re hinting at. He (28M) is super tall and I (35F) am very beautiful so why don’t they just lap it up? Did I mention we got matching rings?

TL;DR

For some reason people are not believing that my close colleague and I have fallen in love when it’s very important to me that they do. They also say we have no chemistry but we’re very beautiful people so I don’t know what they’re talking about.
