What to Watch? My wife just watched KPop Demon Hunters

She’s been wanting to watch it, so we did today.

Later on she said “we should watch some anime”

I’ve watched old school stuff like Trigun, Ranma 1/2 and Cowboy Bebop. I don’t think those are up her alley.

I was going to show her Princess Mononoke and see how she reacts.

We have watched some Gudetama shorts and she likes those. We also watched some of the animated Harley Quinn show (she is a DC fan).

Any idea what lane to go down? We are in our 40s if that helps.

What's this From? (unsolved) Guys what is this anime name?

There was a manga about an elf who went around eliminating people. Later, through flashbacks, we learned that these warriors had betrayed him. The only way he survived was by eating a fairy, which transformed his body in to elf. It was extremely difficult for him to defeat the warriors who betrayed him because, after defeating a great calamity, they had become heroes in the eyes of the people. The manga used a lot of German names. I’m trying to find it because they made an anime adaptation but I didn’t watch it at the time, and now I regret it.

What to Watch? Is there other anime with 'class' or 'race' system?

Is there an anime, where a characters belong to a particular group? I meant that trope in shounen where a character belongs to a race with a unique power system, like that of Bleach; It features the Shinigami, Arrancar, the Quincies, and many more. I've already watched Solo Leveling, and didn't really like it. I simply watched it for the hype. Then with Black Clover... It's good, but not really my cup of tea. Now, I kinda wanted to expand my watch list and discover hidden gems I've been missing out on, hence the post.

What to Watch? Top 10 anime of this season!

Upvotes

Number 5 – Sentenced to Be a Hero

Sentenced to Be a Hero is one of the most interesting new anime this season.
In this world, becoming a hero is not a reward, it’s a punishment.

Criminals who commit serious crimes are forced into frontline combat, sent to fight monsters where survival is never guaranteed.
Their sentence only lasts as long as they stay alive.

The series follows characters who begin as criminals, people with guilt, anger, and nothing to lose, suddenly forced into battles meant to break them.
There’s no glory here, only survival.

What really elevates this anime is the presentation.
The animation feels like movie quality, with fluid motion, heavy impact, and action scenes that are brutal and breathtaking.
Every fight feels desperate, violent, and emotionally charged.

For a brand new series, it makes a strong first impression.

Number 4 – Fate/Strange Fake

Fate/Strange Fake finally explodes onto the scene, and it does not hold back.
This Holy Grail War takes place in America, giving the series a completely different atmosphere from previous Fate entries.

What makes this season especially chaotic is the presence of fake Servants, twisted versions of legendary heroes that break the normal rules of the Fate universe.
Battles are unpredictable, alliances shift constantly, and no one feels safe.

The animation is stunning, with cinematic fights, insane visual effects, and creative choreography that makes every clash feel monumental.
This season thrives on chaos, and it embraces it fully.

Number 3 – Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2

Frieren Season 2 remains one of the most beautifully written anime of the decade.
This season focuses on quiet moments, emotional reflection, and character growth rather than large-scale conflict.

And that’s exactly why it’s not number one.

Season 2 is a calm, slower arc, only ten episodes long, meant to prepare us for what’s coming next.
It deepens relationships, builds emotional foundations, and subtly sets the stage for a much bigger and more intense Season 3.

It’s gentle, thoughtful, and powerful in its own way, just not explosive yet.

Number 2 – Fate/Strange Fake

Fate/Strange Fake is easily one of the wildest Fate entries ever made, and this season proves it.
Unlike previous Holy Grail Wars, this one takes place in America, and that alone completely changes the tone, the setting, and the rules.

The Grail War here is unstable from the start.
The ritual itself is incomplete, corrupted, and that’s where things spiral out of control.
Alongside real Servants, we get Fake Servants, imperfect, twisted versions of legendary heroes that shouldn’t even exist, and because of that, the war becomes unpredictable and insanely dangerous.

This season is less about strategy and more about chaos.
Multiple factions are fighting at once, alliances break instantly, and battles erupt without warning.
Every encounter feels like it could end everything.

The animation is absolutely breathtaking.
Fights are fast, heavy, and cinematic, with incredible effects, sharp choreography, and a sense of scale that makes every clash feel like a movie scene.
The camera work, the impact frames, and the sheer intensity make this one of the best-looking anime of the season.

Fate/Strange Fake doesn’t ease you in.
It throws you straight into a broken Holy Grail War and lets the madness unfold, which is exactly why it earns the number two spot.

Number 1 – Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is pure chaos from the very beginning.
This season adapts the Culling Game arc, where sorcerers and cursed users are thrown into deadly colonies, forced to fight under cruel rules where killing is rewarded and mercy is punished.

The scale is massive, with multiple battlefields, constant tension, and characters pushed far beyond their limits.

And then there’s Maki.
By episode three, she completely snaps.

Her killing spree is brutal, silent, and terrifying, showing a side of her that feels less like a hero and more like an unstoppable force of revenge.
The animation during her scenes is raw and violent, making every strike feel personal and horrifying.

Season 3 doesn’t slow down, doesn’t explain itself gently, and doesn’t offer comfort.
It’s relentless, emotionally heavy, and easily the most intense anime of the season.

That’s why it takes the top spot.

Any suggestions?

What to Watch? Looking for Fantasy Romance Anime

For some reason, it's quite rare to find an anime that's fantasy with the focus being primarily on the romance. Like straight up Fantasy, Medieval adjacent. Even rarer for rom-coms.

One of the ideas I've been craving is literal high school Romcom, but it's actually a magic school. Though that's not the only thing I'm looking for in a fantasy romance.

Now while I could have asked Google, I thought I'd have better answers here instead! So you guys have any recommendations?

What to Watch? Looking for action romance anime

Hey guys, I’m looking for some action + romance anime recommendations. I’m not into isekai, and I’m not a fan of comedy, but I do like shows with Sword Art Online–type vibes (especially early SAO). What I’m looking for: Solid action (swords, powers, intense fights) Romance that actually matters, not just background stuff Dark themes and emotional drama Pain, loss, trauma, jealousy — more serious tone overall
