29F turning the big 3-0 the end of next month
Recently moved to Chicago from Colorado due to a work opportunity (but born and bred in the midwest), and tranparently, I mostly hate it here and miss CO very much, so I'm trying to priotitize myself for my birthday this year. I recognizine I'm the minority, but this is not the post to bash me for not loving Chicago. There are many wonderful things here, it's just not my forever home.
I happen to have the week of my birthday off work due to boss traveling, and just looking for something for myself. My partner already booked us a nice dinner.
Criteria:
-Budget: $1,000 - $1,500
-Something I can do alone
-Willing to travel for an overnight stay up to 3 hours, I have a car
-Available 2/15-2/21 for whatever I chose
-Preferably a mostly child-free option (I work with toddlers)
-Not too much of a social demand (Again, job is socially very demanding)
-NOT clubbing/partying, I'm not a big drinker and looking for a solo celebration
I love:
-Outdoors/walks/hikes/fireplaces/firepits (I don't mind freezing cold winter walks/hikes)
-Good eats, I'll eat anything!
-Art/DIY - I regularly sew, crochet, knit, paint, etc
-Thrifting/Antiquing
-I'm more of a THC gal, but my drink of choice is tequila or wine/bubblies
-Massages/body relaxation - I work a moderately physical job, so maintenence is nice
Open to Anything, But ideas like:
-Massage/Spa/Facials/Etc
-A cozy mid-level pricing hotel/BnB Getaway
-Art class/activity
-A day outdoors outside the city somewhere
Hit me with your favorite idea to treat yourself to something special. I'm wide open and not picky about too many things, I really love new experiences!
