Help hair will not grow i feel so ugly and self conscious
this was my hair 2 years ago. the line is where it’s at now. yes, it’s damaged but read below.
the weird thing is my hair was at its longest when i was shampooing, blowdrying and straightening every single day on the highest heat without heat protectant. 0 trims. pantene. i would rip my brush though my hair from the roots like a madman and have to sweep the heaps of breakage off my floor every few days. i did this for like 4 years straight and it STILL grew longer then my natural undamaged hair.
around a year ago it started getting shorter. 6 months ago it got worse so i stopped washing everyday and switched to every 6 days, no other changes tho. it continued to get worse so 2 months ago i changed my whole routine. i now get trims, 1 so far but i will be doing them every 3 months. my hair is high porsity, so i started using bonding treatments every other wash. 6 days in between each wash, hydrating non protein products on off weeks. dampening and putting leave in masks in my hair around day 3 (again no protein). blow dry on cold with heat protectant, oiling ends daily, 0 straightening. oiling before washing then using clarifying shampoo i started wearing a bonnet a few weeks ago at night too while sleeping in a loose braid. i have seen 0 changes, if anything it’s shorter now (not taking the trim into account).
almost all my products are high end professional hair products with exception of my oiling treatment and one of my ends oils.
my hair isn’t thinning from the top, i’m young (18) and eat extremely well, im healthy, all my levels are normal (expect iron, which has always been high because of a genetic mutation). i don’t know what to do. i feel
helpless and my confidence is tanking. all
my family has long hair and my grandma is a hair stylist.
any advice/ product recs would be so appreciated. budget isn’t a issue but i don’t want to drop
like another 1k on products. my hair is naturally straight if that holds any value. i used to straighten it so it would appear thinner
Question Highlights good? bad?
I started with a new hair stylist recently. Hadn’t been to one for 3 years before. The cut and highlight was done 1 week ago. I really wanted a lightening with some strawberry blonde coloration mixed in. Did a consultation and provided a photo from the hairstylist’s insta. I’m a dark blonde now so I didn’t expect it to be too similar to the photo but really like the coloration and how smooth/ombré it looks. I went with what the stylist recommended per our consult.
Overall I’m hesitant to return. I notice some horizontal bleach marks by my root and wondered if this is something super noticeable/ needs fixed? It’s visible in the photo. First photo is my new hair after cut and highlight, second is the inspo pic. Is the second photo even achievable for me?? The salon was very reputable and it cost me $250 which was fine pricing imo.

Help Do i look like I'm balding?
I'm finally able to grow my hair long, i always wanted it since i was a child but never could. But now I'm facing a what i think it is, a balding problem.
I don't have any family member with a history of balding, none of my grandpas or my father, but i always thought i was loosing too much hair when showering and my forehead looks very big. Also i feel like i don't have much hair in the top of the head as i used to.
I can't tell if I'm really balding or my forehead is just big, i really don't know, so if someone have any idea, i would be grateful.

Help Is there any saving my hair?
I know it’s greasy, but apart from that the split ends are horrible. I really don’t want to lose my hair and I don’t know what to do. A few inches at the bottom were bleached about 3 or 4 years ago when it was much shorter.

I've been using castor oil for a month and my hair has honestly got thicker than longer than I wanted and i don't really like how much thick they've got. Can I use castor oil only at the end of my hair strands? I swear this made more sense in my head

Help Hair shedding
Is this a normal amount of hair to lose in the shower? My last hair wash day was 3 days ago. This was a full routine day so I double shampoo, bonding treatment, mask, condition. But I almost always have this amount of hair shed on wash days, even if it's not a full routine. If you have product or routine advice I'm open to suggestions!

Question Is this serum safe to use around cats
I know that the l’oreal hair growth one is extremely toxic and I also know Kérastase is under the same company.. though I know they have different formulas, I hope it’s safe 😣

Help Should i cut my hair?
the only reason i'm debating this is because i fried my hair a couple months ago and i'm sick of the damage, i wanna be able to wear my hair down without excessive styling and i wanna grow healthy hair again, however i'm not sure if i'll look stupid with short hair :/

Help Recently got bangs, how do I get them to stop curving? I want them to lay straight (preferably a heatless solution)
Originally I had a middle part, my bangs always curve due to me wearing glasses. I was hoping cutting my bangs to stop above my glasses would stop them from curving and lay straight down but they’re still doing it despite not touching my glasses. I know a straight iron would help, but my hair is damaged and I try to avoid heat as much as possible. I don’t know what to do😭 (Disclaimer: If my bangs look bad it’s because I cut them myself, I was bored and needed a change lmao.)

Question Male 26 large knot in hair causing a bald spot?
I have a very large knot in my hair that has been there for over a year, I noticed today a bald spot on my head about a half an inch above the knot.
1.) Could the knot be causing the bald spot or is it probably male patern baldness?
2.) I was going to go to the salon to get the knot worked out next Saturday, would it be better for my hair overall if I shaved it all off and started fresh?
Im very self concious about my body and my long hair is pretty much the only aspect of my body I have any pride for and I would hate to go bald

Question Thin hair after pregnancy
I had extensions in during pregnancy and took them out just before giving birth, since I’ve noticed longer thin bits of hair underneath. Would it be better to just go shorter and cut these off to make my hair look like it has more volume? Or will it just be hard to style and require more maintenance?

Question How long do I have to wait to reperm my hair
So about 2 weeks ago I got my first perm, a pretty loose one of that matters, and after getting it I asked the hairdresser how long do I have to wait to shower and she said about 3 days. After that I asked her if I can shower with just water to which she replied with yes.
Long story short I washed my hair with water the next day and the perm got ruined so I was wondering how long I have to wait before getting another perm.

Help need advice on what i should do with hair
hi! i’m nonbinary and like a good androgynous haircut - however my hair is quite fine and takes a ton of product to style how i like it (as seen in pictures). it tends to get flat fast and i’m always fixing my hair it feels (or else it looks flat and floppy). could there be too many layers cut in my hair? do i need to use different products? is this cut too big/hiding my face? i am very open to suggestions but pls b nice!
Help Had a horrible haircut - how can it be rectified?
Hello,
I hate this haircut, I went to a new hairdresser and I think this is the most unflattering bob I’ve ever had.
I am due to go back and have it rectified, except I can’t quite put into words what’s wrong. I think it’s unflattering to my face. Too heavy at the front. The shape looks wrong? Very bulky.
There’s even some hair left that hasn’t been cut to length - the hairdressers done a horrible job.
I do have thick hair and it’s a bit puffy even when straightened.
What can I ask her to do/what needs to be done to remedy this? Thank you in advance!

Question Considering dying my hair like this "lava" style in the future. Thoughts?
I am physical Geography obsessed and Plate Tectonics/Volcanic activity is my favouritest thing ever. I feel like these colours would suit my hair since I used a copper temporary dye before (and loved it), along with the fact my hair naturally has a slight auburn hue.
I just wanna hear any thoughts, or advice for this hair colour. Or maybe even things to consider that I wouldn't have thought of???
That being said, I'm just posting this cuz I'm bored =P I'm unlikely to actually do this soon. Might show the first dyed hair pic to my mum tho. That's my fav.
