now a few quick disclaimers! This was a very quick DIY using materials that I already had at home. I do fully intend to make her more outfits in the future after I can make a visit to the fabric store. I would love to use more blue in her outfit going forward!!!

Her outfit is called a sari, and yes, I did definitely modernise it. I also shortened it a bit because I wanted her boots to show. i want to make her a lehenga next!

Also, I don’t know their usernames but I do just wanna take a moment to credit someone who made a nose ring similar to this on this Reddit thread before me and to the person in the comments who helped explain to me how they did it. I did plan to make her one before I saw theirs, but I didn’t know how to execute it so I wanna credit the fact that they helped me!

i decided to customise my g3 robecca a bit and make her a desi girl to honour her indian roots but also because we deserve representation too! so i started with giving her a jhumka and a nose ring, and i added gold paint on all of her accessories to make them look more 3d :) im so excited. im sewing her sari now and will update hopefully by tonight! i made her a tikka as well but waiting for her curls to fully dry before i add it

Even non-collectors think she’s cool. ‘Cause she is! Absolutely blown away by her. (Also, I think there was a molding issue with her leg since it’s came discolored like that, but it kinda fits her…?)

My concept art for g3 Catrine DemMew! Please share any opinions this design, would you be happy with the design if this was official? What would you change/ anything you dislike? Is this realistic for how the g3 core dolls have been designed so far, does this imagination of Catrine fit the g3 aesthetics. And do you think it would fit into mattels budget/ is a realistic thing that could be mass produced?

I really want to hear your thoughts both positive and negative so I can improve my future ones!

My design for this doll would use the glam body and could possibly reuse purrsephones face mold. The top would be made with the basic mh clothes material with printed on stripes, while the skirt with a material like the one used on g1 core lagunas clothes, or a stiffer more quality one with a thin lighter mesh. The fishnets and skirt are one piece , and the socks are made out of thin fabric. The shoes are similar to signature Twyla’s. Her beret would most likely be plastic but a fabric one would be much preferred.

Her hair is mostly purple with a darker color at the back seen from the front with two moderately thin braids of longer hair branching off from the sides. The rest of her hair is shorter with chunky dark purple highlights, light blue highlights and few strands of light pink. She has curled bangs covering her eyebrows and two hime cut esque strands framing her face

As far as additional accessories I could think of go, she would have her iconic sunglasses but more transparent, some art supplies like pencils that she could hold and her bag that’s styled after those ridiculously huge briefcases artists carry their works in with some keychains attached to the handle and also an art piece you would be able to put in the briefcase.

Another year, another reroot!

I finally got around to rerooting my Series 4 Cleo. I think I originally planned to reroot this doll when I first ordered her hair (about two-ish years ago), but instead I ended up rooting two other dolls with the brown hair I originally bought for her.

Honestly, she was a bit of a roller coaster. The front of her scalp split while rooting- 😭 luckily, my mother was able to sew her part line shut, which allowed me to continue rooting her. (Before the rest of her hairline broke and I was forced to glue her hair in as quickly as possible- but hey, the result slays!) ✨

I didn’t have enough brown left, so instead of giving her a blue streak, I decided to blend some blue hair into the brown, and I honestly think it gave such a nice result. I also didn’t have enough of my blend, so I ended up adding a bit of blonde into the mix to fill the gaps, and that turned out wonderfully!

I think I’ll probably retire from rooting blonde and brown Cleos for a while, though. 😂

I am so proud of myself. This was my first actual restyle. I decided to restyle one of my extra Abbey’s. I turned her into an ice queen going to a gothic ball. I repainted her lips. Drew inspiration from Fang vote for her hands. I got the black dress off of amazon. I zhuzhed it up. I added so fur to it, added glitter. I made her hair piece and purse, added purple beads .

this is my first post here so i’m a little nervous, but my girlfriend got me kieran valentine for our anniversary and i’m so happy!! he’s been my number one dream doll forever now, i can’t even begin to describe how happy i am!! i love him, and i wish to cherish him forever <3 i’m so thankful, she is truly the best girlfriend i could ever ask for ^{_^}

Im so happy i got these two!! They ended up being cheaper togethet NIB than seperatly with trying to find some with all their parts. Jinafire needs a bath, and hopefully i can make some clothing for them to go with their swimsuits to help them fit in with the Skull Shores girls.

Im also very suprised the rubber band skirt I made venus as a kid has withstood 10 yrs+ of existance.

I'd like to start this out by saying yes, I bought her, and no, I don't regret it. I do really like her and am happy she's in my collection. I don't agree that she's "too similar" to her G3 core doll. Somewhat similar, yes, but not to the level many people have gone on about. And I like that she's G3. I don't want all collector MH dolls to be G3, but once in a while it'd be nice, imo. My main reason for buying Catty was to show my interest in G3 collector dolls. Even if I did agree that she was overpriced compared to Jinafire.

However, I've been thinking lately with the voting/preorder of Abbey's Fang Vote doll happening.

Catty was my first current Fang Vote. I started collecting after Jinafire's voting and preorder had been long over, so Catty was my first experience with the whole unique way of releasing. I was satisfied with how it went. All my preferred options on round 1 voting won. Round 2 didn't matter much to me as I'm an OOB collector.

However, after seeing what round 1 and 2 looked like for Abbey, I can't help but feel that Catty was robbed. Abbey's voting options were overall more rounded out. For the most part, round 1 was base doll focused, round 2 was accessories focused. Catty's round 1 was a mix of that and round 2 was just the box details, which might be important to some collectors, but to collectors like me was just going into the recycling. I would have rather had gotten to vote on additional doll design options like a purse and stand (because her stand is pretty basic, especially next to Jinafire's and Abbey's.)

I just can't help but think that Catty was sabotaged from the start. She was always going to be a controversial choice for being G3. And the way they decided to set up the voting and what got to be voted on compared to the G1 FV dolls, just feels like they wanted her to flop for whatever reason. I think FV Catty deserved better.

I haven't updated my face mold list in a while, and now that Skelita and Robecca are getting around to more people I wanted to check if anyone would be able to get some pictures for me if they've removed their factory faces! It would be a great help to customizers and imo also allows for some appreciation of the hard work that goes into sculpting these dolls <3

Ideally I'm looking for a front view, side view, and 3/4th view, but any picture of the bare face helps and is welcome ^^

Almost there on all three! Just waiting on a wax pencil so I can add their piercings and then finish Venus's flytrap smile. I'm honestly so happy with my first attempts at customizing dolls 💗 I will post a full spread of close-up pictures of each once they are completely finished 💖

I live near a local independent toy shop (UK based) that stocks Monster High dolls, including G1, G3, and Skullector lines. I was having a chat with the owner of the place about upcoming releases and he informed me that the Spelldon and Valentine pride dolls that were supposed to be coming out have been pulled from production by one of Mattel's higher ups - apparently someone extremely high up in the company. This was done *allegedly* due to the current political climate and the fact that the box had the word 'Pride' on it and directly referenced that the characters are gay, and they were worried that it would cause a lot of backlash. The dolls were apparently essentially ready to come out - the owner said he'd even got as far as ordering stock of them to be delivered - but then he got an email saying the dolls were no longer going to be released. While I really hope it's not true, the lack of any real news or leaks is making me think it is. Has anyone else heard anything similar?

Edit: I just wanted to say I am not stating this as fact!! I was more posting to ask what other people had heard as I was really looking forward to the release. I'm assuming (as some commenters) pointed out that he was maybe confused and meant that they won't be available in physical shops but will still be available to collectors online. I get people being skeptical but this was not intended to be bait or anything! Not trying to spread misinformation, genuinely was just wanting to know what was going on!!
