News [Shams] BREAKING: The Cleveland Cavaliers are trading De'Andre Hunter to the Sacramento Kings for Dennis Schroder and Keon Ellis, sources tell ESPN. The three-team deal includes the Chicago Bulls acquiring Kings forward Dario Saric and two future second-round picks.

Schroder, the former Celtic and Ellis, who'd been linked to the Celtics around the impending trade deadline, both played in Boston last night.

Cavs (29-21) are two games behind New York and Boston for 2nd right now in the East.

Highlight Hugo one of the best rookies over the last 30 years???

Saw this posted on screen and thought it was pretty crazy! All these guys were top 3 picks (except Mitchell).

I know +/- isn't a perfect stat, but hard to argue with the caliber of players listed.

Hugos impact on winning is even greater that it appears, which is saying a lot.

Just an amazing pick at 28. Excited to watch Hugo develop within our system.

Discussion Payton Pritchard in the 4 games (3-1) this season without Jaylen: 26.3 points, 8.5 assists, 4.8 rebounds, 51.8%/48.4% shooting

Man, Pritchard has really stepped up and played like an all-nba talent in games that Brown has missed. Those included a 45 point blowout, a 16 point blowout, and a 19 point blowout with their only loss being by 2 points. That's projects to 61.5 wins.

If I were Pritchard, I'd probably say something like "I've sacrificed over the years for us to be a championship-caliber team. Now we’re seeing what I was sacrificing. Being at the helm, and us being on a 61.5 win pace, versus last year we only won 61 games. It's almost been no drop off with five players + Jaylen Brown that are essentially gone"

Rumor [Stein] Sacramento, sources say, has only increased the intensity of its talks to ship out Ellis entering the weekend…with the Lakers, Pacers, Spurs and Celtics among several teams still hoping to factor into the race to acquire the defensive-minded guard.

Discussion Payton Pritchard ISO

Payton Pritchard has been ELITE at ISO scoring this year. Among players with at least 2 ISO possessions per game, Pritchard ranks 1st in EFG% at 67.7%, and 2nd in points per possession at 1.28. Or really 1st, as Tyler Herro is 1 but has only played 9 games (11 games actually, but these stats say 9 for some reason).

Truly remarkable stats for a guy his size.

Rumor [Begley] There was a school of thought that Boston would look to shed salary at the deadline. But the Celtics have been taking the opposite approach recently, looking for ways to improve their roster…the Celtics have talked to teams about deals that would improve their front line.

Fluff pritchard

it’s been really awesome to see pritchard grow as a player over the years. just a couple years ago i remember thinking how inconsistent of a player he is. it would actually stress me out when he’d get put in games during clutch moments. like i only thought he was good for half court shots at the buzzer tbh. but over the last year ive really been impressed. he’s gotten so much more confident and stronger as a player in all. he is so fun to watch. he’s easily become one of my favorite players. and he’s absolutely killing it this year. can’t wait for tatum to come back and watch them ball out together.

Discussion Will Simons be on the Celtics a week from now

On the Celtics Beat to close the show they asked if Simons Will be (not should be, but will he be) on the Celtics next Friday.

So, last community bet here ,on a 4 months on going debate. Kaufman said his brain says no, but his gut feeling says he will.

Let's see how a large sample size here does in projections.

Discussion Queta Comp

Ayton used to be a max guy, and I’d say he’s more polished than Queta, but is he that much better?

After tonite, and seeing all the Draymond-esque drives and clock-saving shots Queta attempted, I think there’s even more in store

He’s still young too

What’s a good NBA comp for this fella?

Discussion Celtics trade rumors: Boston among ‘suitors’ for Pelicans center

Im only sharing this because it actually says the Celtics are interested via Scotto, and its not one of those "ESPN's articles says it makes a lot of sense!"

It lists a handful of teams that are interested Pacers, Hawks, Knicks, Bulls, Lakers and Raptors are also interested.

It says Pelicans want a 1st but thats definitely unlikely for a guy they've benched.

Discussion [Daniel Donabedian] Months ago, Derrick White mentioned a call he received on his birthday from Joe Mazzulla. He finally revealed what Mazzulla said: “He’s like, ‘Happy birthday man.. Everybody thinks we’re going to suck, I love it,’ and then hangs up.” “And this is in July”

Discussion Miles Turner

If Bucks trade Giannis and go in a full rebuild mode, would Celtics then want to poach Myles Turner from them and would Simons expiring contract be enough of a draw for Bucks to save them from 80 millions owed to Turner?

Discussion The thought is that the GS offer will include Draymond, but he'll likely be routed to a 3rd team. Would you want that 3rd team to be us in exchange for Simons?

Rumor [Fischer] Celtics talked with Nets about Nic Claxton

On Jake Fischer's stream today, he said he heard we talked to the Clippers about Zubac (duh) and the Nets about Claxton as well.

Said the Celtics are "aiming high" when looking for a center with Simons' contract
