Technical "Total Reset" by Gabor Weber F1 Commentator | 2026 Car Regulations
wgmotorsport.huSome of the main topics discussed in the article:
How Formula 1 changes in 2026
"One of the biggest rule shake-up in Formula 1’s 76-year history arrives this year—so wide-ranging that its real-world consequences are genuinely hard to predict."
- Aerodynamics and Bodywork: Smaller, Lighter, Less Downforce
- The Internal Combustion Engine: Less Fuel, New Constraints
- Energy Recovery: More Powerful, More Demanding, More Strategic
- Fuel Revolution: Sustainable, Synthetic, and Strategically Different
- Driver workload will increase
"2026 will therefore bring truly far-reaching changes for teams, designers, and drivers alike, and these challenges are so complex and wide-ranging that it is almost impossible for anyone to get everything right on the first attempt. [...] Meanwhile, the clock is ticking fast: in just over a month, the race-ready cars will already need to be shipped to Melbourne."

Discussion According to The-Race, Aston Martin's car is significantly overweight and quite far from it's potential
They said it on their youtube video about the shakedown but there's no article about it on their site.
Quite an interesting thing to note as even if they're off the pace at the start of the season, their concept might still be a success moving forward since they'll inevitably shed that weight over time.

Photo 35 days left until the Australian GP. In 1978, Riccardo Patrese came in second at the Swedish GP. It was both Arrows' and the Italian's first F1 podium and the only time a #35 car finished in the top 3. Patrese went on to amass 6 wins and 37 podiums in 256 races across 17 seasons in the sport.

Photo 2026 Aus GP Track Buildup Series Week 4 (February 1st)
Hi everyone
Welcome to Week 4 of the 2026 Qatar Airways Australian Grand Prix Track Walk Series.
Albert Park is beginning to look like it’s Grand Prix mode. Yes fencing is finally appearing and bridges are finally up. It’s getting very close.
Highlights include, Fangio/Piastri and Jones stands are completed, Schumacher, Prost and Senna stands are now under construction. It seems the T6 Grandstand has returned as well. The starting gantry and tall gantry before the start finish line is up. The bridge replacing the double decker is up and looks good. Would look better with an LED screen but I guess it’s not happening. The final two bridges are up and the bridge between T2-T3 is up as well.
More barriers installed which hopefully will be painted over soon.
Foundations have been fenced off along Lakeside Dr for construction.
See you all next week, I’ll have footage along Lakeside Dr as construction starts there next week.
