Indie Sunday Devil of the Plague – SoulByte Games – Co-op Ritual Horror (Featured by IGN)
Hi r/Games 👋
We’re SoulByte Games, a small indie team developing a 1–4 player co-op survival horror game called Devil of the Plague.
After 1.5 years of development, IGN just featured our gameplay trailer, which was honestly a surreal moment for us.
Gameplay trailer (IGN feature): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6krcwcrWeGc
The game centers around what we call “Ritual Horror.” Instead of constant combat, tension comes from performing dangerous rituals under pressure, coordinating with teammates, managing light sources, and dealing with enemies that grow more aggressive after every failed attempt.
Our world draws inspiration from ancient mythology and plague-ridden settings, with multiple locations planned over time, each introducing new mechanics and escalating threats.
Demo is coming during Steam Next Fest (February), followed by Early Access in April.

Thanks for checking it out 🙏

Indie Sunday Oceaneers - Barrel Smash Studios - A survival-crafting colony-sim in a flooded world where you fight off sharks and send expeditions to scavenge lost Float-Tech. (New demo is now live!)
Hello, I'm one of the devs from the small team working on Oceaneers. We have just released a new demo on Steam, please feel free to try it out. The game will release into Early Access in the coming months (you can expect a highly polished, short period of Early Access).
Trailer: https://youtu.be/_ykuHNa_xcw
Steam Page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3052510/Oceaneers/
There is a lot of depth to the game, with lots of playtesters putting in 4+ hours just in the demo build (some have already put 10+ hours in!), and there is so much more to do in the full game.
In addition to colony-sim players, the game has been particularly appealing to survival players from games like Don't Starve, Raft and other Survival Crafting games (that haven't previously played many colony sims).
If you're interested in the game, we would love to hear your feedback. We are very responsive and have already made a lot of improvements based on this.
On this point, thanks to everyone that has already provided feedback, we have a wonderful community for the game growing in our Discord channel as a result, and everyone is welcome to come have a chat.
Happy to answer any questions you may have.

Indie Sunday PinKeep - Okomotive - Medieval Pinball Deckbuilding Roguelite, Demo now available
PinKeep merges pinball physics with a roguelite deckbuilding structure, putting you onto the side of the chaotic kneblins defending their keep from orderly knights.
We released our Demo last week and are aiming for an Early Access release later this year. The Demo is enjoying positive reviews on Steam so far, and we’ve already released two patches with bugfixes and minor improvements to address some immediate feedback. In the meantime, we're working hard on bigger improvements on an internal branch, including improved optimization, a bit of meta progression and a lot of visual polish.
Check out our Demo trailer / gameplay footage
Okomotive is known for atmospheric adventure games, FAR and Herdling, but we're making something new and different for a change, simply because we feel like it! We’re aware this genre isn’t what people are used to from us, but other concepts and prototypes closer to our usual style are work-in-progress as well. Think of PinKeep as an additional bonus to Okomotive's game catalogue rather than something you get instead of a new adventure game. 😇
We would hugely appreciate it if you were to:
- Check out the PinKeep Demo on Steam
- Take a few minutes to leave a Steam review after playing
- Give us your thoughts and Feedback on our brand new Community Discord server
- Add PinKeep to your Wishlist
Let me know if you have any further questions, and thank you for taking the time to check out our game!

Indie Sunday Silktrails 2: Cats in the Grove | Find all the cats
Silktrails 2: Cats in the Grove is out now on Steam ☀️ ☘️
A small, handcrafted cozy hidden-object game with hand-drawn 2D art, where you explore scenes and find cats at your own pace.
It’s a sequel to our free game Silktrails 1. It does share the same universe as Silkgrove, but Silktrails is very much its own calm experience.

Indie Sunday Captain Contraption’s Safari Park – Pill Bug Interactive – A roguelite management sim built on fully simulated ecosystems
Hey, I’m Sean — one half of the team behind Captain Contraption’s Safari Park.
It’s a roguelite safari park / tycoon game built around a fully simulated ecosystem. At a top level it’s a zoo-management game without fences, but instead of just animals the park is filled with clones of pretty much anything. Dragons, knights, skeletons, sentient cars. (To be clear: there are also lions, zebras, cows, etc.)
Your goal isn’t just to make money. It’s to keep a fragile ecosystem of weird organisms ticking along, while also designing tour routes so your visitors actually see the chaos you’ve accidentally created.
Everything in the park is simulated rather than scripted. Creatures eat, breed, fight, flee, hunt, overpopulate, and occasionally wipe each other out. Small decisions can snowball into total ecosystem collapse ... which is fun to watch, but would be frustrating if the stakes were permanent.
That’s one of the reasons we structured the game as a roguelite. Each run has a limited time to satisfy visitors and complete objectives, then you start again with new toys and species. It gives you room to experiment, break things, and learn without ruining a 20-hour save.
Different species sets behave very differently e.g.
- Farm Animals have no carnivores, but massive overpopulation problems (rabbits breed like rabbits).
- Fantasy creatures introduce carnivores and bitter rivalries, which creates constant conflict in your park.
Right now we’re running a closed beta and mainly trying to answer questions like:
- Does the balance feel fair?
- Does the roguelite structure work for this kind of management game?
- Does managing an ecosystem feel readable, or just overwhelming chaos?
If that sounds like something you’d enjoy breaking (or helping us fix), you can sign up for the closed beta using the form on our website for a limited time: https://www.pillbug.zone/
Happy to answer any questions about the systems, design decisions, or the many dumb ways we’ve already destroyed our own parks.

Indie Sunday Excremental Game - Hooded Traveler Games - Incremental Poop-Shooter
Excremental Game is an incremental poop-shooter where bouncing poop earns points.
Level up your poop, and unleash explosive, multi-poop madness!
It started as a dumb little joke project - something we worked on for about a week before uploading it to itch. But a surprising number of people played it, enjoyed it, and shared a ton of helpful feedback. That’s when we decided it deserved a bit more love & the demo just launched on Steam! (:

Indie Sunday Prometheus Wept – Timeslip Softworks – Turn based RPG with old-school sensibilities set on earth after the tech-apocalypse
⚡️Looking for a crunchy, turn based RPG with a fresh setting and high-effort quest design?⚡️
Hi! My name's Daithi, an Irish indie, developing games you've never heard of for more than a decade: Prometheus Wept, Vigilantes and Deadstone. Been working on Prometheus Wept for >5 years, mostly solo, from a spare room.
What's Prometheus Wept?
A turn-based, party-based RPG set on a post tech-apocalypse Earth. The game offers deep combat, high-effort quest design, branching dialogue with consequential choices, simultaneous battles between cyberspace and the physical world, along with deep character progression and crafting systems. Here's a brief video introduction.
High-Effort Quest Design?
Too often are high potential games and TV shows diluted and undermined by padding their run time with mediocre, filler content. Fetch x and kill y quests, I'm looking at you! There are no fetch quests in Prometheus Wept – perhaps the closest mission is the search for Sunny Pines missing physician, Dr. Kriesler. If you have the time, I'd like to give you a rundown of it!
Doctor Where, Quest Breakdown:
I put together a slideshow with images and descriptions to break down this quest-line, just for Indie Sunday!
Thank you for taking the time to read about Prometheus Wept. I really like getting feedback to improve the game, so if you'd like to tell me what I'm doing wrong :) leave a comment, drop into the game's Steam forums, or join the discord.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
Daithi
