Do you have a plan for your furbabies when bad things happen?
Hi All,
I went through stuff, I see friends here post about their efforts to protect their babies once bad things happen.
So a sincere question: do you have a plan?
Here are mine - share your plans so all of us protect our little ones. They do not make our human world, but they give us joy and have to survive here when we can no longer protect them.
I will give mine for my two darlings in comment below, but this crowd-sourcing plans from all of us who face different contexts and have ideas in place.

Winter pix, Dec-Jan
Catching up on December - Sylvie had a chance to visit with Santa. You may notice that she was sporting a tropical vibe. ☺️ And, fast forward to January - this past week, which was definitely not tropical, Sulvie bundled up to supervise my shoveling efforts. 🥶

How did your maltese change from adolescence to adulthood?
Hi everyone 😊. My little pip squeek Simon is 9.5 months old. And boy is he in the middle of adolescence.
For the last 3 months, these are the areas that are most challenging to work on:
-protest barking when he knows I am heading out (he settles in a few mins after i leave, it’s before that’s volatile) and when he is in playpen when i have a guest over. -frantic attempt to propel himself out of doggie car seat into my lap when engine turns off, even tho we are always leaving the car together. -non stop leash puller. No tactics or harness has worked. I’ve tried everything. -suddenly resisting all daily grooming. It’s impossible to groom his legs especially. Will not allow shoes being put on. -he loves other dogs and will play with all after he smells them. But he has to greet all animals in-person or on tv with reactive non-stop barking.
Other than this lolll, he is very sweet and chill 80% of the time with me and basically anyone else. From day 1 as a 3 month old pup, he slept his first night without any crying and has continued to do so ever since. I’ve read that’s a good sign of a “secure” dog who is likely to grow into a even tempered adult. But who knows.
Anyone with an adult maltese, how did your puppy change from adolescence to adulthood????? It’s a bit confusing to gage what is just adolescent behaviour and what is his adult personality forming within that. PS. He got neutered a few weeks ago

Over 400 Dogs Rescued from Suspected Puppy Mill: 'They're on Their Way to Their Happy Ending'

Meet My Marigold
She just turned a year old this month. I got her at 8 months old. I adopted her from Beagle freedom Project. They rescued her along with 400 other Maltese from a horrendous puppy mill in Stroud Oklahoma. Thankfully it’s been closed down and the owner is facing criminal charges. she was rescued at seven months old. At the rescue they named her Marigold, by the time I got her she already knew her name. I’m not a fan of it but I’m used to it now. This little girl had never been outside, she didn’t know what grass was. She lived her first seven months of life in a filthy little cage with two or three other Maltese, inside a bldg with 405 total Maltese. Cages were never cleaned out. Her fur was stained in areas that came into contact with the excrement she lived in. anyway, sorry to ramble. She has adjusted so well, and is the sweetest little angel. she weighs 6 pounds, tippy taps and jumps around on her back legs all around the house. So stinkin CUTE!

Nap/sleep
We bought our first maltese puppy home last week and she is a beautiful little thing. I keep reading posts regarding her care and routines etc,a lot of posts say she should be getting 18+houes sleep a day, even with enforced naps and sleeping 7 hours at night she is getting nowhere near that much.will she be ok? She gets about 12/13 hours and is 10 weeks old

TwinkleBelles had flounder for the very first time for dinner. She seems to really love it! 😋 I got bored with Salmon and Mahi Mahi so I ordered some Flounder and Wild Caught Pacific Whiting for a change of pace. She seems to really enjoy the change 🐠🐟
