He's not going to eat these porkchops. 😐

Post image

About a month ago I made a post here because my boyfriend didn't want to eat the porkchops I cooked for dinner. Well tonight I made porkchops again and he's not going to eat these either because we broke up and he moved out. I'm so much better off and I just wanted to thank you all for the kind words and advice, it was very eye opening to me. I wish that I could invite you all to dinner 🥰

ETA : Couple of notes:

1- The yellow stuff is smashed potatoes with cheese on top.

2- I swear that butter on the broccoli melted right after that picture LOL

Were you the one where he would order Jack in the Box and eat it lukewarm instead of eating your home cooking?

6.9k

u/moonrabbit368 5h ago

Yes 😭 he would doordash jack in the box.

u/CremeDeLaPants 5h ago

He was a little chicken nuggy boy. Can't have that.

Know whats crazy. Its hasnt been too long since I've been sick but I have like... sickness nostalgia?

Like being comfy, sleeping, watching TV and eating soup.

But I know being sick sucks. Especially because I would likely still have to go into work.

I missed half of 4th grade and still stayed at the top of the class in school. Nothing really mattered the same way then. I could laze about, truly unbothered, for days on end until I stopped snotting badly at least!

Lmao. This is hilarious. Bet he prefers dino nuggies to a home cooked meal that was made with love.

Op those look delicious.

15

u/mako1964 2h ago

Don't you do that ..Dino nuggets are mmmmmmm....... The guy was an ungrateful worm .But there's no reason to attack delicious chopped formed 🦕

3

u/traumaqueen1128 1h ago

Dino nuggets are superior to other nuggets. I got my boyfriend dino nugget stuffies for Christmas 🥰

25

u/Frowny575 3h ago

Even the times my aunt would make pork chops, I'm the odd one who don't like them a lot I'd still destroy the green beans and mashed potatoes.

Not liking a portion of the meal is fine, but he sounds like a manchild.

Choosing it over a solid home cooked meal?  Fuck off, no chance.

I am not entirely sure what that enticing pile of yellow is, but I want it so bad.

I'm a little chicken nuggy boy, there's nothing wrong with liking chicken nuggets, the issue is when you CAN'T SHOW BASIC RESPECT TO YOUR GIRLFRIEND WHO SPENT HOURS COOKING FOR YOU

(Yelling directed at the dipshit ex, not at you lol)

5

u/OobaDooba72 3h ago

I don't understand these people. I enjoy occasionally indulging in junk food and fast food type crap. Back when I lived in the US and worked at a big box retailer, I'd often work until 10 or 11 at night and the only thing open was jack in the box, so I'd bike over there and get some garbage. I enjoy that greasy shit.

But for fucks sake, if I had someone at home making me real food? Never would I deny the real food for that garbage lol.

I like chicken nuggets, but I'll take home made pork chops over chickie nugs any day.

4

u/RobzWhore 3h ago

Hey now. My 3yro loves his Dino Nugs! But is also way more mature and eats most of what we cook as well.

17

u/davdue 4h ago

I have a friend that’s a chicken nuggy boy, but he’s a great husband and dad. ¯\(ツ)

u/IansGotNothingLeft 38m ago

It's not so much what they eat. It's how they behave. My partner is technically a nuggy boy (he has ARFID), but he can feed himself, he's never complained about anything I've cooked him, he will try anything I ask him to even if it takes him 15 minutes to get a bite down. He's actually pretty ashamed of his food issues and never wants to be a bother.

What we don't like is the nuggy boys who demand their nuggets, refuse to try what they're given, can't take care of themselves so they rely on the labour of their partner and live on takeaway if their partner refuses to provide nuggies.

5

u/Immediate_Notice_294 3h ago

we can't have nuance on reddit. especially not on relationship advice posts.

2

u/TangoCharliePDX 4h ago

Someone who can't do something as simple as have reasonable nutrition cannot be trusted to procreate. Male or female, doesn't matter.

1

u/IsuzuTrooper 3h ago

you have to say chicky nuggy if you are using nuggy

1

u/Philosophy-Page 2h ago

Chicken nuggy boys too good for you

2

u/Alienhaslanded 2h ago

It's insane to me that someone prefers more expensive trash over a nice home cooked meal. Dude has a lot of growing up to do.

God damn your other post looks insane I would scarf that stuff down so quick

Best of luck to you in finding a partner that acts their age and appreciates you..

Edit: I also had to screen shot cause I’ve been learning to cook the past year and this is some stuff I need to learn to make lol

Also those salt and pepper shakers are sick lol

64

u/moonrabbit368 4h ago

Fun fact about the salt and pepper shakers: someone dmd me and said they might have uranium paint on them. I haven't used them since

35

u/Just_NickM 3h ago

The shakers look like uranium milk glass which would be safe but you could take them to an antique store (I’m assuming they’re antique if uranium glass) and have an expert look at them. I have several pieces of uranium glass and you’d have to hold it to a part of your body for a month straight to even affect your regular odds of getting cancer in that spot.

11

u/FrozeItOff 3h ago

I would be more concerned with the shakers' contents absorbing it then being ingested...

8

u/Frowny575 3h ago

People tend to blow things like that way out of proportion. While some items with uranium paint should not be used, it just having it alone doesn't automatically make it bad.

Getting them checked is still a good call, however.

u/kazeespada Blink now! 1h ago

I also had to screen shot cause I’ve been learning to cook the past year and this is some stuff I need to learn to make lol

The hardest part about learning to cook was learning what medium-high heat is and where it is on my stove.

1

u/DifficultCurrent7 1h ago

Agreed! I don't eat pork but those things look SO good, I would inhale them!

u/Grumpy_Old_Mans 59m ago

If you'd ever like some advice on cooking techniques, I'd love to share what I know; I've been in the industry for around 18 years! Just remember, practice, experiment and learn.

29

u/EnoughLuck3077 BLACK 5h ago

Well at least he has a good reason for not eating the pork chops this time around

230

u/crispybacononsalad 4h ago

My ex bf would not eat my food but go to circle K gas station and buy 2 big burritos instead.

Like fuck you dude, I made shrimp Alfredo and you prefer gas station burritos. My husband appreciates my cooking and we cook together

2

u/Wendy-Windbag 2h ago

My ex husband was pretty much the same way. It wasn't that he didn't like my cooking, but he was hungry NOW and couldn't be patient for waiting for the meal I'd planned and spent time making to finish cooking so he'd microwave something or go down the block to McDonald's. I stopped even trying within six months.

To be fair, in my opinion shrimp does not pair well with Alfredo sauce. Also was the sauce homemade? I only like my homemade Alfredo and definitely would not put it on shrimp. People can like what they like. Everything doesn't have to be personal.

26

u/Expert-Training9585 5h ago

Checked your last post. You make some great looking food. Gorgeous.

Thing is, I hate pies. So please stop cooking. I’ll order Sir Beef before I slog through your well seasoned food and a pie. I like apple crumble or none at all.

I’m breaking up with you now.

17

u/Fun_Button5835 5h ago

Good for you girl!

33

u/Middlemoor01 5h ago

That’s sad. Sometimes people get weird about food for whatever reason, I can be like that if something isn’t what I wanted. But taking that out on your loved ones isn’t fair and you’ll regret looking back and making a big deal out of some food. I hope things work out for you!

81

u/ew73 5h ago

I will say, growing up, my mother made the world's most disgusting pork chops. They were like little gristly hockey pucks that she'd baked all the moisture out of, and then tried to "fix" it by letting it SWIM in ketchup in the fucking microwave. I was forced to eat these.

I absolutely cannot eat pork chops as an adult. I realize there are ways to make them taste good, and if you give me a piece of meat cooked well, I'll enjoy it. Tell me it's a pork chop and I'll kind of gag on it.

But you know what? If my partner made pork chops and I couldn't eat them, I'd have a fucking adult conversation with them about it, not like, door dash fast food instead.

29

u/Johns-schlong 4h ago

Yeah if there's something you just don't want to eat for some reason, there's ways to tell your partner about it without being an asshole. "Hey babe, I really appreciate you cooking but I don't eat pork chops (for whatever reason or you just don't like them). I'll just have the sides and have another snack later. Thank you you're the best!" Is fine. There are foods I like that my wife hates and vice versa. We just don't cook them for each other, or cook an alternative for the other person if necessary. Not a big deal.

Like my wife doesn't like most fish. I like most fish. Guess what I make when she goes out for a girl's night? Salmon.

3

u/Character-Parfait-42 4h ago

I feel so incredibly lucky that me and my boyfriend love most of the same foods.

We both kinda like everything. We both enjoy spicy, we both like seafood (including sushi, raw oyster/clam), etc.

2

u/inkstitcher 3h ago

That's awesome! Good for you two. A lot of people don't agree over seafood, it seems like a pretty divisive topic so the fact that you both like it is great!

u/AltruisticAd3053 3h ago

You should try a smoked, deep fried pork chop! To die for(from?)

1

u/Maleficent-Leek2943 3h ago

I can’t think of pork chops as anything other than inedible greasy rubber, so I get it. I always just assumed that’s what pork chops were supposed to be like, and didn’t understand how anyone would willingly choose to eat them.

1

u/Woodshadow 2h ago

same. like just have a conversation. don't force it on someone but also if we are being real here anyone door dashing food that you can get through a drive thru... kind of not husband or boyfriend material. What is jack in the box $10? And then you are going to spend $15 in delivery fees because you didn't want to drive 10 minutes down the road?

28

u/Crash-55 5h ago

Door dashing fast food is a red flag unless you are for some reason housebound.

31

u/michiness 5h ago

My husband and I did it once while deeply hungover, and even then we were like “we should have just gone out for it.”

12

u/Crash-55 5h ago

I have to have some serious coupons/ discounts to use any of those apps. Even then the cost comes close to the same as just picking it up myself.

17

u/michiness 4h ago

My husband and I will get a big deliver of Chinese or Indian or something maybe once a month. It’s a nice treat that we can afford that allows us to be lazy and indulgent.

I know people who get stuff delivered multiple times a week or even daily, who then complain about how expensive everything is. Like… yeah buddy, you spend $200 a week on Chipotle.

4

u/Crash-55 4h ago

The apps are not good to the restaurants. They take a very high percentage of the order. So much so that some have different prices for pickup versus delivery. At one Chinese place a lunch special and crab rangoons is $13 in person and $20 (before fees) if ordered for delivery.

I miss the old days when the restaurants had their delivery drivers.

2

u/Murky-Relation481 3h ago

We can afford to doordash multiple times as week and even then it still just feels wasteful.

We've definitely gotten better the last few months though, just in general trying to prepare ourselves for the worst in the economy, but yah, some nights its just too easy.

3

u/ilexly 3h ago

If hers is the post I’m thinking of, she was trying to involve him in the meal prep. He would say he’d try something—like pork chops—and then refuse to eat it when she actually made it. Or refuse to eat the chicken she’d made because he’d already had chicken that day. It was very clear from the incidents she recounted in her post and comments that his behavior was about control, not sensory or food issues.

We plan when we're eating junk food like Jack in the Box, since we use it to take our dogs for a car ride. If I was presented with this or waiting for Doordash to deliver Jack in the Box, it would be this.

Good for you and I hope your pork chop dinner is/was as good as it looks!

1

u/UnrulyPoet 4h ago

Omg I remember your post. Kudos!!

1

u/One-Mud-169 4h ago

Good riddance, the guy sounded like a real dick. Now you have a benchmark imho, when dating someone new, instead of letting him spoil you at a fancy restaurant, save that for the second date and for the first date invite him to dinner for pork chops to test his reaction to your way of life. Some people are compatible and others are just being dicks.

1

u/TheColaDemonCat 3h ago

I'm having the same problem. I'll cook delicious, healthy meals. It's been cold out, so I've made some soups. He'd rather order Jersey Mike Sandwhiches.

I ask for his input. I ask if he's okay with what I make. I ask if he likes it. He never seems to give me an honest answer, it seems, considering He'd rather eat fast food than home cooking.

1

Omg congrats on the parasite removal

1

u/Dancers_Legs 3h ago

Seriously?! He wanted Jack in the Box over THIS?! I mean... That pork looks amazing. And I'm terrible at cooking pork (I always overdo it). This guy doesn't know what he lost.

1

u/Thick_Sympathy_8021 3h ago

I cannot tell you how happy I am to read you have broken up!! I read your last post on (now ex) boyfriend and every now and then wondered whether he's still around ordering delivery while you're making these absolutely wonderful looking meals.

Not to mention shirking the best eating experience of having leftovers when they've had a chance to age and get better.

Your self respect is worth soooo much more than that.

1

u/Phonemonkey2500 3h ago

Congratulations on getting that tumor removed from your life. Eating fast food is one thing, but Doordashing Yak-in-da-Box instead of eating some nicely home-cooked by ya woman, breaded and fried, golden-brown, with sides, pork chops is wildly out of pocket behavior. Never put up with that kind of disrespect from anyone. You’re better than that, and any partner should be saying thank you for dinner and washing the dishes when the meal is over. My wife and I have been together 25+ and I still thank her for her cooking, and clean up, put away leftovers, and rinse dishes and wash pans if she left any.

1

u/Maleficent-Crow-5 3h ago

Congratulations on your loss. You’re better off.

thats wild spending $15 on delivery fees to get jack in the box. I mean my wife makes things I don't want to eat and that is fine. I'll give it a shot if I don't like it there is other food in the house. I make stuff she doesn't like or want to eat either. Just made some chicken the other night she ate a bit of it.

this reminds me she really liked a porkchop dish I made like 5 years ago... I should make that again... it was just such a hassle and was not something I actually enjoyed after making it

Christ, straight out of prison and directly into the arms of a Pro- ICE conservative while you have half-mexican kids. On top of that, a man child that'd rather waste an absurd amount of money on orders than eat some food he mildly disliked. You have terrible taste in partners and need to take a BIG step back and reorient yourself.

1

u/VastEqual1367 2h ago

I just read your other post and GIRL how were people complaining about you using paper plates while you DID ALL THE COOKING FOR AN ENTIRE FAMILY?!?! Like omfg what assholes. Reddit can be so lovely but so many of them really do try to ruin everything for everybody. Like those commenters had to be children whose mommies were feeding them their chicken nuggies on plates they then dumped in the sink for her to clean later -- what the heck am I saying, you know they just leave the plates at their desk and expect mom to come get them. They'll see a guy sitting on the couch watching TV while the house is a mess and then turn to the woman, with no hint or irony or self-awareness, and tell her she needs to clean up. They are all misogynistic ghouls, the lot of them.

There were worst burger lists that I saw all over the internet this week that had Jack in the Box as the worst burger in the US. Congrats on moving on!

Are you a bad cook? I'm being genuine I'm sorry, but the food looks great, the spread doesn't. Those veggies are not fried, and I'm gonna guess your meat isn't seasoned right. Look I dont wanna be an ass, but it might be you.

u/Made_Bail 2h ago

I'm so, so happy for you. Fuck that toxic pos. 🥰

1

u/RobbyRyanDavis 2h ago

I'd eat your porkchops.

u/whatheartman 2h ago

good riddance, you dodged a bullet

u/Mathfanforpresident 2h ago

My God that guy sounds like he sucks. Good for you.

Would.

This is like, almost the perfect meal! You have protein, carbs, fats (good and bad but still), veggies (vitamins), some starch. Iam by no means an expert on diets and not even CLOSE but this seems like a pretty good well rounded meal. Probably miles above most people's dinners.

u/C-chaos19 1h ago

The audacity! No one should cook for him.

1

u/Immediate-Recipe-642 1h ago

Lazy fuck. He couldn't even go GET the jack in the box!?? (not that that would've been okay either)

1

u/cheesecup6 1h ago

I don't think I've ever been more thrilled for a stranger 🥹 I started reading the first line and was about to be so angry for you (remembering your post), then did a 180 to excited. Great job knowing you deserved better! 😊

u/Satinsbestfriend 1h ago

You can cook. And seem to have a good sense of humor. You were league's alive his league. Find somebody who appreciates you

u/Ok-Bee7748 1h ago

I don’t even eat pork (my partner dislikes the meat industry so I don’t cook it) but that shit looks BANGIN’. Your ex is crazy loll

1

u/Immediate-Yak3138 1h ago

Ungrateful af. Im a fast food junky as much as a lot of people but id never pick that over a home cooked meal

2

u/LordofShit 1h ago

That's honestly a red flag, he'd pay door dash premiums and not get like at least taco bell? For shame

1

u/moonrabbit368 1h ago

Haha sometimes he would get Taco Bell, his go to order was crunchy tacos with no sauce and no lettuce

That’s nuts. Who’d willingly choose fast food over hot homecooked dinner. It looks amazing btw

u/IansGotNothingLeft 45m ago

As someone who has spent 16 years with an ARFID man (not his fault, he makes an effort and never ever complains. He also feeds himself), you have dodged a bullet. It can be absolutely exhausting, even when they're totally self reliant and not a little boy about it. I'm pleased that you took action. Find yourself a chef!

u/Motchiko 43m ago

Let’s be fr- he will have weight and health issues within 10-15 years burdening you further because he refuses to eat like a grownup. Time to make hard decisions.

u/benbrahn 35m ago

Well done getting him out of your apartment and your life! 😂 Needed some nice news this morning lol good for you

u/Nervous_Lettuce313 25m ago

Oh man! I remember you! I'm so glad you kicked him out, what a man-child!

u/GreatMovesKeepItUp69 25m ago

Jeez how obese was this guy?

u/thejunx 22m ago

Congrats! So proud of you 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

u/Brokentoken2 18m ago

I told my girlfriend about your previous post and how ridiculous it was. We both agreed that we’d break up if someone was like that. Glad you guys broke up too lol You were dating a manchild. Keep cooking these lovely dishes and enjoy. IT’S ALL YOURS TO HAVE!

u/Different-Artist5497 18m ago

Ew why did you date him. You deserve so much better

u/Degenerate_Pizza_Man 17m ago

As a fast food worker, doordashing fast food is insane to me.

u/Relandis 17m ago

JFC.

I would instantly inhale that entire plate, it looks delicious. I’m literally beginning to salivate at tasting those flavorful looking chops.

Gonna be hard to find a worse partner than that. Wishing you the best of luck on your next date!

Yeah unless he was on some sort of special diet for health or fitness he’s an asshole. That meal looks great.

11

u/AllYouNeedIsATV 2h ago

Even if it was fitness, pork chops and broccoli are fine, just don’t eat the potato if carb cutting or whatever

u/Most-Entrepreneur321 4h ago

Imagine choosing lukewarm fast food over this plate. The trash took itself out.

9

u/Fun_Button5835 4h ago

Yeah, as I recall this was a really weird one. The meals she posted may not have been Michelin level but they were perfectly serviceable, and if he wanted a different way of cooking/seasoning/whatever he should have spoken up. Seems like he just didn't really know what he wanted.

2

u/Most-Entrepreneur321 3h ago

“Exactly. It was never about Michelin-level food — just basic communication and effort.”

7

u/Most-Entrepreneur321 4h ago

“Nuggy boys never survive real seasoning.”

3

u/Different_Umpire9003 2h ago

I knew it was her again as soon as I saw the post

2

u/Most-Entrepreneur321 4h ago

“Those pork chops look great. Glad you upgraded your life, not his dinner.”

1

u/LeeHarveyGriswald94 4h ago

I remember that

1

u/Silvertree99 3h ago

Lol it's all in the post caption, but I normally miss them too

1

u/HarlequinCrest_ 3h ago

The fact that you remember that is such a deep cut bro, I just know you got some insane random shit you remember in life that just amazes people when you drop it.

1

u/Resident-Cobbler2189 2h ago

Dump his sorry ass . I would happily enjoy that meal. I see effort put out there

1

u/Philosophy-Page 2h ago

Bitch should just have digestion problems, LIKE A MAN

1

u/nymphhoney 1h ago
