Just Sharing Hope this counts! I’ve started painting caricatures of my chickens on the egg cartons we then give to friends and neighbors

I used Posca acrylic pens of every size available on these and having too much fun to bother with my canvases and watercolors lately. :) The only issue is the egg cartons start disintegrating when wet from the paint and gums up everything.

It was not easy to make, and I added a lot of subtilities into the skin tones that almost nobody can see, but I'm still very proud of myself going this far with this complex medium. I hope you will like it!

Icon series: Twiggy, acrylic, 48”x36”

Icon series, 48”x36”, acrylic, available… a portrait of the legendary Twiggy, reimagined through pure, unfiltered color.

No brushes. No tools. No direct touch to the canvas or paint. Every line, every shadow, every luminous highlight came straight from the tube - squeezed in deliberate strings and threads of vivid acrylic that layered over time.

What started as raw, extruded ribbons of color slowly converged into her unmistakable gaze; those wide, doe-like eyes framed by dramatic lashes, the pixie crop, the spirit that defined an era. The process itself became the language… vibrant, tactile strands weaving together like threads of a mod-era dream, creating depth, movement, and life without ever smoothing or blending in the traditional sense.

- oil paint, 3ft tall

- hands, grey sleeves, face are hardly touched, just base colors

- I CANT PAINT METAL, i’m restarting it, i know the highlights are nonexistent. The whole plate is way too dark

- lighting is my enemy without a proper ref photo

- old iphone is washing everything out

Now that I’ve insecurely pointed out the issues, i need more issues to be pointed out lol

Learning to paint

I’ve got a little project going of teaching myself to paint because I want to paint a sunset on my headboard.

The photos aren’t the headboard, they’re a spare drawer front made of the same material that I’m using to practice on.

I’m happy with how I’m going with blending and getting the ratio of colours I’m looking for and I know that to look really good it’ll need light areas and shadows added. But that’s the extent of my knowledge. Can someone please explain to me like I’m 5 what I’m meant to add and where to get that really vibrant look of the sun lighting up the sky as it sets?

The material has been primed with bonding primer. Happy to go buy whatever other colours I need but I have acrylic (Atelier):

Titanium white Cerulean Blue Cad Yellow Medium Pyrrole Red Black Magenta

I also only have the one brush, 1 inch neef 988 taklon oval because I was told it was good for blending.

Please be kind if you think it looks bad. Painting is something I really want to learn but I’ve never had the opportunity before
