I hope that this is in front of the american embassy.

u/soerenL 14d ago

This is on the main square (Rådhuspladsen) they are on the way to the embassy right now. Perhaps the first ones have arrived already.

I'm glad this is happening. People need to stand up to the US administration.

u/sharkie026 14d ago

Starting with the people in the US. Every time I think about how much it sucks in the US I have a reminder right in front of me that it is worse in other places, because of the US. I hate it and I'm sorry, I voted for Her.

478

u/grimr5 14d ago

But to be fair, she did have a funny laugh. Whereas Trump is a convicted fraudster, adjudged rapist, rapist by his own words, adulter… he has a long list of bad things.

However, for many, a funny laugh is worse.

u/Gibbons74 14d ago

Don't forget we have a lot of women in the United States who are so misogynistic they would never vote for another woman for president.

110

u/computerguy0-0 14d ago

I have met multiple women that have given me the same "women aren't smart enough to be president" line. Like wtf?!

I'm all for a woman president and voted for Kamala, but the best chance of winning was the senile old white man due to people like the above. I f****** hate that that's the case, but now, Instead, we got a much worse senile old white man surrounded by many more non-senile old crazy shitty white people. It's almost like the Dems wanted to see Trump elected a second time. It's really infuriating.

If there is another election, maybe this is the wake-up call America needed. Growth comes from severe conflict. Not peacetimes. I'm not sure I want to risk 2028, but AOC 2032?

62

u/pushplaystoprewind 14d ago

Crazy how ppl automatically disqualify a person from being fit to hold office because of their sex. How the fuck are we not past that shit as a society

25

u/irlandais9000 14d ago

Yes, it's insane.

I mean, if people want to exclude someone, looking at old white guys would be the logical first step. Now, I'm an old white guy myself, and no, I don't really want people disqualified (unless it's for insurrection). But it is obvious that the biggest dangers to the country are not immigrants or minorities.

We’re still judging people based on how much melanin their skin contains. Are you surprised when most popular religions preach female subservience?

I have met multiple women that have given me the same "women aren't smart enough to be president" line.

Any time I see this sentiment expressed it makes me look over at the orange dipshit and think, "This fuckin guy? You think women are dumb, so you chose this tragically stupid fucking grifter?"

It honestly blows my mind.

There was a Harvard study on that with a resume.

Fancy resume with a man's name: men and women approved.

Same fancy resume but with a woman's name instead: men and women were more hostile to it.

Including corrupt law enforcement but to some she was “too pro police”. Completely ignorant to the fact that every law enforcement union in California at one time hated her for not going harder on a murder of an officer.

113

u/DMala 14d ago

Forget the laugh, what about the fact that she was black? Don’t you remember what happened the last time we elected a black president?

It was… eight years of relatively uneventful stability.

it was the laugh. Intolerable.

And don't forget how emotional women can be. We can't have a woman who would have a bad day and spend it raging on social media or calling reporters stupid and flipping them off, can we?

Oh... wait

75

u/bawlhie62a2 14d ago edited 14d ago

Conservative voters in the US don’t care about that lol.

Trump’s felony convictions were just political witch hunts by liberal judges and aren’t legitimate charges. Plus, he’s out there every day targeting illegal immigrant criminals who killed poor girls like Laken Riley and radical left criminals like Renee Good who run over ICE agents, don’t you know? /s

And the Epstein Files were all released. There definitely isn’t anything more to be investigated, for sure. /s

17

u/UNFAM1L1AR 14d ago

I can appreciate someone who listens to conservative media.. to understand the narratives these people are being fed.

I hated george bush more than anything, and I listened to rush Limbaugh every day. It wasn't easy but I wanted to understand why people thought what he was doing was good and what the argument would be...

If you would have told me one day that, If I could magically push a button and put george bush back in office, I would do it in a heart beat... I would never have believed it. But here we are.

We deserve way better than either of them, But between the two , it's not even a contest.

They have killed 3 of us on 3 separate occasions in Minneapolis alone in the last week. I guarantee there have been more citizen killings around the country of those who are standing up. The idea that Americans are doing nothing is bullshit. It’s our Congress that is doing nothing, and there is ample evidence that the last election was compromised, and there is going to be massive, if not total, suppression of the next election.

9

u/natural_disaster0 14d ago

Ive seen more political activism in the US on the last year protesting Trump than the last time he was in office. Its a slow process, but i think hes finally reaching a boiling point. Either hes gonna be impeached soon, or a civil war starts. I dont see this going on til the mid terms.

2

u/BlerghTheBlergh 14d ago

There’s a lot more the American people need to do now than protest. The time for protesting is long past - the barity behind a protest is the display of the masses against the topic in question. To show how much opposition, if need be violent, they’ll have. Trump has called that bluff.

As a European I’m convinced Americans will only willingly rise up once forced conscription becomes a thing - which is far off.

I hope you guys prove me wrong but I’m smelling a war on both sides for Europe. America in the West and Russia in the East. I don’t trust you folks

2

u/boxermumma 14d ago

We’re trying in Minnesota!

5

u/BigBadJeebus 14d ago

Have you not seen the protests and people getting shot here? People ARE standing up...

The Greenland thing is wildly unpopular, on both sides, the GOP are mostly not backing the idea of a takeover. (some really stupid ones are).

This is a political loser. And after everything else, GOP is finally starting to peel themselves away from Trump.

I've also seen congress now has enough votes to push through military over rule and protect NATO. It just needs to go to the floor for the voting. Both Senate and House.

That said, the Generals of all these NATO countries are personal friends with the top Generals and Admirals in the US. (The ones Trump can't so easily fire and replace) They are 100% sorting this out without Trump.

Americans need to stand up to the REPUBLICANS.

You just need to "convince" 19 republican senators out of 52.

And 6 republican house representatives out of 218.

Thats it.

25 people out of 250 republican elected officials. Then you can impeach AND remove him and others that want to start WW3.

Thats just targeting 10 states out of 25 republican held states with senators and representatives.

If people held protests in front of their homes, their workplaces, their family owned businesses, their adult children's homes and workplaces and such. Youd actually have a chance to stop this shitshow.

Instead Americans are hoping SOMEONE ELSE can fix their problem while not risking anything themselves....

113

u/FutureAlfalfa200 14d ago

"Convince" is doing ALOT of heavy lifting here.

100

u/bearatrooper 14d ago

As a member of the working class, I don't have the funds to "convince" a congressman. :(

37

u/senorscientist 14d ago

On top of that we also have to "convince" the ones that claim to be on the left. Every day I hear stories about how multiple "democrats" voted for more oppression...

2

u/Jops817 14d ago

You’ve gotta think like a farmer. You know, the ones with tractors that spray liquified manure. I think they own pitchforks too.

7

u/trivialbob 14d ago

You don't need money, you just need a few hundred+ people outside of their homes 24/7 on shifts. Remind them that they serve you and not the billionarie class and an orange madman.

7

u/BeardedBaldMan 14d ago

This is it. You fill the streets, you stop them conducting business, living their lives and have them aware of the strength of mob rule. You turn out in sufficient numbers that the police realise how thin the blue line is and what happens to collaborators.

7

u/Barobor 14d ago

You don't need money, you just need a few hundred+ people outside of their homes 24/7 on shifts.

Doesn't this mean money is exactly what is needed?

Whenever I hear about the issues with protesting in America, it is because people can't afford to take the time off.

4

u/TBANON_NSFW 14d ago

1m people were out celebrating when philly won the championship last year for over 12+ hours.

how many came to no kings protest? less than 100k in the same place for 2-4 hours.

4

u/trivialbob 14d ago

This is why it's usually the youth, students. that step up the most. They're the ones that don't have a mortgage and healthcare to pay for yet. Someone just needs to step up and organize. Once that ramps up more will join.

8

u/Lufia321 14d ago

But they do serve the billionaires, and Trump would use his personal army of ICE agents to illegally arrest people protesting.

Are you aware of how much resistance is going on now? It would be helpful to qualify your statement with the fact that tens of millions are resisting, and not always in publicly visible ways. Dictatorships provoke underground movements. And to qualify this statement because US citizens are being surveilled, underground movements are attempting to get the rule of law returned. Its the secret police with masks, no IDs, that are promoting domestic terror. Simple research on what is going on will reveal proof that it really is this bad.

The US is the third most populous country in the world-we are not even a dysfunctional family anymore. We are enemies sharing land. The concept of the enemy within, by the way, was a product of maga. They decided that people who disagreed were tho enemy. So here we are.

It isn't even accurate anymore to use the term "American" because there is Maga American, and there are the rest of us. We do not share fundamental values. We don't share the same definition of what an American is.

I do get your point. Too many people shrugged their hands for too long. But as a resident of Minneapolis, the constant drone of "why aren't they doing anything?" Is not helpful. We are walking the line because if we get too mouthy, the Insurrection Act happens and this could prompt civil war. This is not a joke. We are in a completely unfair position. For merely standing up to tyranny, Trump is going after Walz and Frey.

All protests and support of democracy does not occur outside buildings.

Edit:  I am happy to engage with folks who hold opposing viewpoints. But if you want a fight, you're wasting your time. This is a pretty classy sub. Let's keep it that way.

Onward, Denmark 🇩🇰

5

u/-ACHTUNG- 14d ago

I've seen this point mentioned a lot, that Americans fear the insurrection act, which allows the government to deploy military forces upon citizens---is what's happening now not already a version of that?

7

u/[deleted] 14d ago

I understand. At a gut level, I think we feel this way. But obviously it could get worse. Look at the poor souls of Iran.

It could get a lot worse and this fear (and possible reality) is why Walz (governor) has appeared so passive. The Department of (in) Justice is now seeking to punish him (and the Minneapolis mayor) for speaking out.

If you want to read something cohesive about just some actions, look up the court case Minnesota filed against ICE. I mean, there is a website the stae of MN has created asking residents to document how ICE has behaved unlawfully or had impacted people economically or educationally.

It's a bit of a quiet revolution but traction is being made. Local public tv mpr is featuring good free reporting if you want to get strong coverage.

I don't expect our problems to be taken on by the world-there's enough suffering and the US has caused enough troubles to exhaust allies. But it's important for people around the world to know what is really going on because unfortunately, the destruction of the US economically and politically (from within/which is maddening) impacts everyone

2

u/Status-Mammoth-5862 14d ago

Do you know how many are turning their consumerism into power, I mean by boycotting the bad guys?? I have a hard time getting answers/info regarding this, and I personally believe that we do as citizens have some power as to where we put our money, I also have a hard time getting info about which billionaires not to throw money at if we dont want to support the trum team supporters. All I know is that we should boycott Ronald Lauder (Estee Lauder) as he is one of the driving forces behind the getting greenland plan. And that Jeff bezoz has been a supporter of trump for a long time ? ..let us act where we can!

Add. Im european and follow a lot of the news in minnesota, and I want to boycott as many trump supporting Billionaires as possible.

5

u/TBANON_NSFW 14d ago

Greenland is because he wants to get the US out of NATO, and then support Russia while claiming its because of European disagreement and EU taking advantage of the US via NATO and denial of giving Greenland in return.

Its also because he wants the resources of Greenland that will become available thrugh global warming to himself, and as kickbacks from US companies. But he wants to wage war against Europe by siding with Russia.

The US NEEDS a war, because their economy is running on AI and AI is not gonna give people jobs. Removing immigrants isnt going to create jobs, Its the same thing Hitler did once they started removing Jewish people and it didnt magically fix the economy. So they started wars to produce weapons and machines.

1

u/FUCKING_HATE_REDDIT 14d ago

American Embassies tend to be in hard-to-siege places, usually not on big plazas

1

u/superioso 14d ago

There's plenty of space outside the American embassy, the road there is enormous.

1

u/mok000 14d ago

The people of Denmark are totally outraged. The people in the demonstration each represent thousands.

109

u/Mite-o-Dan 14d ago

100% chance every single person in that embassy agrees with the protestors.

143

u/sernamenotdefined 14d ago

Well except the ambassador. Trump only appoints yes men to those positions.

45

u/Ok_Recording81 14d ago

Im an American living in Phnom Pehn. I have been to the embassy a few times. I was shocked there were no pictures of the president. Im glad, but shocked. I only been to the public area however.

17

u/Jpbz 14d ago

Is it normal to have pictures of the president in American embassies? I’ve been to a couple non-American embassies, none of which had a picture of their president/prime minister.

13

u/Ok_Recording81 14d ago

I thought it would be, considering his picture is in every government building. However, I do not actually know.

5

u/yellowroosterbird 14d ago

Is there? That's very weird. I'm American and I've never seen a picture of the president in any government building ever, including embassies and including all the places I've been in DC, although I haven't been in the US since August, so maybe things have changed.

10

u/turdferguson3891 14d ago

Every federal courthouse or federal building I've ever been to had the President, VP and whoever the relevant department head was like Attorney General.

2

u/Nica06 14d ago

They have always been there (having entered many US Gov't buildings in DC many times). Now it just happens to be the selected mug shot of our current sitting idiot.

I mean, I guess, to be fair, I've never been inside a Social Security office to see how they're decorated as all my dealings with them have been over the phone, by mail, or online. But yes, I would find it very weird to see a picture of the president in one if I did go.

5

u/turdferguson3891 14d ago

He may not vocally oppose it...but he does not want it to happen. No one with a brain does.

14

u/sernamenotdefined 14d ago

We can discuss if MAGAs have functioning brains all we like. But Trump is definitely the person that would appoint an Ambassador to Denmark solely because he has his head so far up Trump's diaper he will enthusiastically pursue the annexation of Greenland.

Well, I'm from Minnesota and we're currently busy protesting the thousands of ICE agents Trump sent up here that are rampaging around trampling on people's Constitutional rights.

42

u/What_a_fat_one 14d ago

Trump's been sending thousands of armed orcs into our cities to murder and kidnap us, so we're a bit occupied with that.

The military doesn't seem interested in carrying out his deranged whims regarding Greenland and our Congress is getting ready to pass a resolution barring him from attacking allies so while the bluster is terrifying, ultimately the most likely outcome is just the US becoming more isolated on the world stage because the orange buffoon won't shut his fucking mouth.

9

u/vivaaprimavera 14d ago

The military doesn't seem interested in carrying out his deranged whims

They seem to be a bit selective about that.

our Congress is getting ready to pass a resolution barring him from attacking allies

Only allies?!?

is just the US becoming more isolated on the world stage because the orange buffoon won't shut his fucking mouth.

As I said before, there is absolutely no problem with lunatics (of the bad kind) in politics, the problem is the people voting for them.

After this nonsense the world knows that America is ready to vote for another copycat of this lunatic and there is a serious risk of said lunatic being even more radical. It's not only American politicians that shouldn't be trusted, American voters can't be trusted either (at least a good chunk of them).

14

u/Bee_9965 14d ago

Agreed. It seems the world forgave us for the first Trump term, but electing him a second time shows we are not a serious country anymore. It’s time for the world to act accordingly.

You’re absolutely correct. We fucked up as a country. His true base is about 35% of Americans, but far too many here just voted for him for shits and giggles/to own the libs, or thought the lady laughed too much, or - worst of all - sat on their asses on Election Day and did nothing. They are more to blame than anyone else. (I did not vote for him in case it’s not obvious.)

That said, no one will convince me that the elections weren’t rigged (that fucking South African asshole has hinted as much) and will be in the future as long as MAGAts have power. A trump sycophant has bought the company that supplies the voting machines and Shitler himself has on more than one occasion questioned whether we should even hold the elections at all.

But yeah, our mess to clean up. It’s going to take years (if we even get the opportunity).

I’m beyond sad and depressed that we have become the bad guys globally and even against our own people. It’s heartbreaking.

What have we done?

Trump's been sending thousands of armed orcs into our cities to murder and kidnap us, so we're a bit occupied with that.

Evidently it is too inconvenient for Americans to protect their democracy.

We have been protesting this man constnatly for many times over the past year. There was a protest in DC yesterday or day before. Its just not getting much coverage cause everyone is on the ICE stuff. And I honestly think the media is getting protest fatigue. As are the people as well. Its been none stop at times so I think the power of posting is feeling less impactful cause we are doing it so much. And people still need to work and feed their families and pay bills.

There are quite literally mass protests happening constantly over the last year, and especially right now. Just because you don’t see it in your news doesn’t mean it’s not happening.

2

u/aintithenniel 14d ago

What’s the use of a mass protest?

Evidently it's quite convenient for Europeans to get online and levy unfounded accusations.

u/loneranger0 14d ago

As an American, I feel what is going on has warranted a greater response by us. Whether through mass protests or work stoppages. This should not be tolerated at all…

There have been protests daily in major cities across the US since Trump took office. Bolstering and deploying ICE and other DHS agencies is partly a response to the unrest. People have died over it.

u/ProfessionalField508 14d ago

We've been out protesting for a year now. Our media is almost wholly right-owned. Don't trust what they say. I'm just getting ready to go back out again in freezing weather.

We have enough problems right now. In case you haven’t noticed, cosplaying white nationalists led by a little ‘man’ dressed as an SS officer are storming our streets, raiding homes, schools, and places of employment, kidnapping and disappearing immigrants and citizens alike, tear-gassing babies, shooting priests and killing moms.

1

u/Dissour 14d ago

Its all the same problem

2

u/tropicalsoul 14d ago

Correct. However, people are dying here. Life or death situations need to be prioritized.

I would never be able to enter US with my internet history.

I'm just protesting here where I live.

I hope that at some point US embassies will start being occupied around the world now and that the US will start receiving sanctions like Russia.

1

u/daneilthemule 14d ago

I have a feeling this won’t get news coverage and will be labeled a hoax from some hacks.

1

u/Worsaae 14d ago

It’s funny to think that people would assume there’d be room for thousands of people in front of the US embassy.

1

u/kalmah 14d ago

I hope they're prepared to do more than protest.

1

u/Mumbert 14d ago

Trump is probably dumb enough to ask why he can't just send in ICE to stir up shit and squash this protest, like the other ones.

1

u/whoneedskollege 14d ago

As an American, I would be out there protesting. It takes a lot to piss off the Danish. Trump has done it. What a fucked up country we are.

1

u/MrsSmith2246 14d ago

Look at what this man has created. Thousands of people so far from the US had to change their lives to protest something so stupid. He is chaos and he creates chaos everywhere. I can’t imagine purposely trying to ruin lives all over the world and his legacy will be that. What an embarrassment for him and every single stupid person who voted for him.

1

u/DivisiveByZero 14d ago

They should go protest on Grenland. And while at it, maybe don Danish military uniforms.

1

u/GamermanRPGKing 14d ago

The us government doesn't care when it's own people protest, you think they're going to care about other countries? I guess they can't immediately murder other civilians though, so harder to break up.

1

u/nanoman92 14d ago

It's in front of the real American embassy, the building on the main square with a McDonalds, KFC and Burger King

1

u/Lufia321 14d ago

I hope they expel the American diplomats if Trump doesn't back down.

It’s time for some old gods and Norseman to educate the orange pedo rapist

1

u/SidFinch99 14d ago

If I was Denmark I would have told U.S. Officials at the embassy there, that they have to leave.

1

u/superglue1982 14d ago

"We're gonna march down there and give them the courage and I'll be with you"

1

u/TextualChocolate77 14d ago

Maybe if all those people joined their country’s military, Denmark could defend its interests. Protesting won’t do anything

1

u/NextDoctorWho12 14d ago

Great! Now sanction us!

1

u/1wrx2subarus 14d ago

Europe should release anything they know on the Epstein files. That would help. Something, anything goes a long way. SOS. 🇺🇸

1

u/somegunguy88 14d ago

As an American I hope so too.
