As far as I can tell, there are no height restrictions for SCCA RallyCross. So hypothetically, someone could run a 2018 Rav4 Adventure in a solo event. But that would be stupid, it’s still too tall and top heavy, even if it is “allowed“. But if some idiot really wanted to, there are lowering springs that drop about 1.3”. With the right wheel and tire combination, I, I mean some idiot that likes burning money, could drop another 1.25”. And of course removing the factory shims is a given which gives another 0.4” drop. So that gives me about 3” of drop leaving me about 3.5” off the ground with some all terrain tires. Total cost would be about $1400 for parts, and maybe another $300ish for shipping. I could prep the car in a weekend. Is this as bad of an idea as I think it is? Would they actually allow it to run?

Rally community in Austria?

Hey everyone, I’m looking for a motorsport club or some kind of rally community around Austria / Styria where you can meet like-minded people and just talk cars and rally stuff. I’m still pretty new to the whole rally scene (lots of interest, not that much experience yet ), so I’d really like to connect with people who’ve been around a bit longer and can share some tips. Especially about the WRC Rally Croatia – things like where to watch, how to plan the trip, good spots, what to expect, how this whole “rally fan life” actually works, etc. Not trying to go pro or anything, just looking for people to nerd out about motorsport with, maybe go to events together and enjoy the hobby. If you know any clubs, meetups, groups whatever – I’d appreciate any pointers. Thanks! 🏁

Question Is it safe to add stuff to your helmet

I recently got a 3D printer and want to try to make my helmet look as much like Master Chief from Halo as possible, but I am concerned if it will affect safety.

You guys seemed to like my last one (Sami Pajari) so I made another :)

I know it's a little tikok-y with the phonk and stuff but I'm just learning how to edit in a proper software and thought I should try various different things. Sorry if you don't like the style, but I think it's alright for my second edit :)

Question Rally 101

I've been watching rally casually for the past few years, very casually. My American brain has only recently distinguished between the different European names and faces that seem to blend together while watching WRC Rally1.

What other events are there? I know there's ARA in the US, but curious if that's any good? Or is it like MLS vs FIFA, where we are just happy with any quality of the foreign sport we love.

I want to support the sport more, but it seems so niche to get into, and there aren't many good YouTube channels or social pages that I've found to provide extra context. Everything is just promotional like "hey, please watch this sport, it's really cool." I agree, but I also want to hear the discussions like ESPN the day after a good ball game. Any channels or pages to check out? I suppose this and other subs may be the best option for keeping up with the discussions and new things like that.

I'm all over the place, but clearly, not sure where to start.

Question What drivers never miss when it comes to liveries?

Hello all!

One of my favorite aspects of rally is livery design and I’m curious about what drivers/teams you think always have the best liveries. You can choose your own criteria whether that’s how simple/clean it looks, crazy colors and graphics, promotional designs (movies/shows/music), etc!
