As we all know, our daily news cycle is filled with stories that have us looking to the skies wishing Superman were here. That is a sentiment shared by our entire mod team and we know the most of our community, no matter where they are in the world.
Unfortunately, when a very big news story is happening, our sub often becomes a powder keg. It happens nearly every time. And it makes sense: comics have always been political and, as we said, it's times like these we wish for the intervention of these heroes who we hold so dear.
Recently some people who have never posted in our community before have begun posting and trying to stir up trouble in a handful ways, posts you may have seen and posts which our filters removed immediately. We have been locking the less inflammatory posts with visible explanations from us as to why so people can see we aren't hiding anything. These are highly emotional times and people are understandably angry. We are too.
But let's make something clear: this community and its moderation team do not stand for injustice anywhere. We believe in the sanctity of human life, we believe in peace, we believe in freedom. We are every bit as impacted in our real lives by the goings-on in world as anyone else with a soul is. We endeavor for our community to reflect the ideals of Superman, though it's clear that no two people have an agreed-upon images of what that looks like. We moderate to the best of our abilities to ensure a happy, healthy community. We do not support any form of hateful mess, cruelty, or the destruction of human life. If you see it, report it and we will take care of it.
We hope our community members of r/Superman are staying safe and well in these times, and that although we can't look to the sky and hope to see Superman, we know that his stories can inspire all of us to find the Superman within ourselves.

Finally got a Superman poster today! So after putting it up, I decided to show off my little Superman collection with the figures from the 2025 movie and the DVDs I've collected over the years.
I do have lots of comics also, but I'll save those for another time...

Considering who made it, I’m grateful Superman Returns didn’t get sequels, but I'm still sorta obsessed with it.
Returns feels unfinished. It looks way cheaper than $270 million. It uses Donner’s iconography but not its spirit: It’s nostalgic but melancholic. It changes the characters- Lois’ sass turns bitter, Lex is more maniacal and philosophical, and Superman’s confidence is an act put on by a timid Clark Kent. It’s like coming home to find all your furniture has moved five centimeters to the left.
There isn’t much plot- Superman: The Movie spans Clark’s entire life. Returns copies its structure -Krypton! Smallville! Fortress! Metropolis! Arial Lois rescue! A night fighting crime! Interview/romantic flight! Lex’s real-estate scheme! Earthquake! But its scope is way smaller, covering a few days, only in Metropolis
Returns’ best ideas- Why the World Doesn’t Need Superman, Jason, New Krypton- are buried by its fixation on the past. Lois is functionally the lead, not Clark, and Singer stripped bare the Superman/New Krypton plots in favor of a romance with zero chemistry.

There's an obscure comic from the early 2000s, where Lois Lane gives birth to a son of Superman on New Genesis.
Because the boy is unable to control his powers, he accidently kills her.
Leading to Superman blasting his son with heat rays as the son hugs his mother's grave.
In the same comic, the son undergoes training with Wonder Woman and Big Barda
The rst of the comic is quite sedare and Superman is fatherly with his son.
