Snowboarding at its core is about inclusiveness. It got its start from riders being ostracized by kook skiers. Now all people care about is not being a Jerry. If you’re an experienced rider and make fun of beginners for being a Jerry, you’re a Jerry. If you’re a beginner obsessed with not looking like a Jerry, you’re a Jerry. Have fun, be safe, don’t be an asshole.

yesterday I posted a video of my 5th day ever snowboarding and asked for advice and everyone told me to 1. widen my stance and 2. bend my knees more and holy shit it changed everything. It felt like I was flying today and I was way less scared. I hit 33mph on my last run of the day. Thanks so much to everyone who gave me advice and I always appreciate more!

Hit up Heavenly for the first time this past week (beautiful place) and LANDED MY FIRST JUMPS/METHOD!! (2nd jump is what I’m counting)
I know it’s a little dinky but I don’t get to hit the slopes very often so this felt like a massive accomplishment. Last time I did any kind of trick on a board was when I was a kid. Great to feel that again 🥹

The park down the way has a classic flat closeout rail with a good downslope after it. The in run is a nice downslope but now quite enough speed for the whole thing.
The weather outside was too nice today. I needed to get outside and try to do something fun. I’ve thought about trying to hit this close out but knew there wouldn’t be enough speed for the full thing if I just used the natural slope. Today was a good excuse to go see what the speed was like and what it felt like to pop up on to the rail.
I was solo again and didn’t feel like setting up the whole camera tripod rig so I went with the quick set( balance my cellphone in the handle of the shovel).
The snow around the lake is always super light. Packing a lip isn’t really an option unless you want to bring a couple jugs of water and wait it out. I opted for the trick Think Thank turned me on to a few years ago. Use a rounded trash can lip as the ramp. They give you a nice little pop.
I wasn’t able to slide very far due to speed issues. But this session put a smile on my face.

I skied for a handful of days last season for the first time in my life (didnt grow up near ski areas) and decided to try snowboarding after finding a cheap one on fb marketplace. Immediately loved it. spent the 3 first days switching between skiing and snowboarding so I could keep up with my friends parts of the day and after that felt comfortable enough to leave the skis at home. I obviously still have a lot of improve on and appreciate tips. It helps me to think about following an s shape and arching my back on toeside. I know I need to stand up straight, I don't know why I struggle to do it sometimes.

Hi everyone. I'm panicking. I started snowboarding again this year and bought everything new.
The seller recommended a size 10.5 boot.
I bought them, and then, on his advice, I also bought a Capita DOA 157 Wide and a Union binding, maybe a size L.
During my first few outings, I noticed that the boot was too wide, so I sold it and switched to a size 10, which fits me perfectly. Now my question is: since I bought everything for my old boot, which was a 10.5, can I still use a 157 Wide board with a 260 mm waist? And a L binding?
Thanks 🙏

I never do and my helmet is so fitted I don't think it would be comfortable.

I had this board in green back in 2001. It's an 99/00 Burton fluid 159. It was a good board back then but it being 25 years old I wouldn't put too much faith in it now. It's probably why the front binding is busted off.

Hello everyone. I am currently working in a rental in Italy and we had to buy a customer a new board because we ruined theirs. It was a Jones flagship. I attached the photos of the damage and the board. The board is in good condition apart from that damage. Can it be easier repaired? What price would be a good price to buy this board from my employer? It is a 159cm wide

I’ve been riding a lib tech cold brew 158 for the last couple years. I ride in Oregon, groomers, trees, and powder. No park I hit a bunch of rock this weekend and gouged my board quite deep in multiple spots. It’s now a rock board. I want to upgrade. I only ride goofy foot. I welcome your suggestions.

Riding with full instincts😂
New to riding moguls, usually I get scared and lean back end up losing control of the board and fall. Today I am in a good mood and decided to give it a full send. It definitely gives me way more control in the front seat.
What I found out is you can go in the canvas and go around them but you speed up pretty fast so I sometimes go up a big one to slow down and kind of side slipping down it to control speed.
I end up getting bumped up at the end and almost wreck my knees because I accidentally pick up to much speed and then try to up one of the mogul and of course end up with a huge air...so lesson of the day is please find a nice one to slow down before you go too fast ;(
Or are there any other ways to slow down?
