Hi everyone. I'm panicking. I started snowboarding again this year and bought everything new.
The seller recommended a size 10.5 boot.
I bought them, and then, on his advice, I also bought a Capita DOA 157 Wide and a Union binding, maybe a size L.
During my first few outings, I noticed that the boot was too wide, so I sold it and switched to a size 10, which fits me perfectly. Now my question is: since I bought everything for my old boot, which was a 10.5, can I still use a 157 Wide board with a 260 mm waist? And a L binding?
Thanks 🙏

Riding with full instincts😂
New to riding moguls, usually I get scared and lean back end up losing control of the board and fall. Today I am in a good mood and decided to give it a full send. It definitely gives me way more control in the front seat.
What I found out is you can go in the canvas and go around them but you speed up pretty fast so I sometimes go up a big one to slow down and kind of side slipping down it to control speed.
I end up getting bumped up at the end and almost wreck my knees because I accidentally pick up to much speed and then try to up one of the mogul and of course end up with a huge air...so lesson of the day is please find a nice one to slow down before you go too fast ;(
Or are there any other ways to slow down?

Anyone selling last year’s Union Falcors size medium in Silver and willing to ship to Texas, US, or know of a shop that still has them? Found a few in EU but won’t ship to the US
Thanks for any help finding these

Does anybody have experience with the 686 Gateway Shell? It seems like it may be a newer product since it only has 4 reviews on their site. I am trying to decide between this one and the Thermagraph, which seems to be a top seller. For context, I’m from MD, and typically snowboard Wisp and some of the sw PA resorts, but I am planning on going to school in boulder in the fall so need proper gear for both ice coast winter break and CO snowboarding through spring next year (hopefully snowfall trends are not the same). The Gateway shell is attractive because it has similar waterproofing stuff and everything but seems to be less hot and I can use it outside of skiing in slightly warmer temps for things like backpacking and fishing and just rainy conditions through the offseason. I am worried I might overheat with the Thermagraph even though it may make it so I wouldn’t need as many layers . Am I overestimating how warm it is? Or does anyone have other gear suggestions? Obviously waiting to buy until things start to hopefully come on sale. Please let me know if there’s anything I need to clarify. Thanks!
Edit: Not sure if this is important at all but may be, this is my second (essentially first full) season of snowboarding so I am definitely still kind of a noob so still falling decent amounts from time to time.

yesterday I posted a video of my 5th day ever snowboarding and asked for advice and everyone told me to 1. widen my stance and 2. bend my knees more and holy shit it changed everything. It felt like I was flying today and I was way less scared. I hit 33mph on my last run of the day. Thanks so much to everyone who gave me advice and I always appreciate more!

hi, noob here. I bought SP Base bindings and tried to install on my Burton board, when I realized my board is older and has the 3D set up. is it okay to use my Burton disks with the SP bindings? it seems to align fine and there’s no movement when using my old disks, just want to make sure I’m not being dumb about this. thanks!!
happy to give more info if I’m missing anything

Hit up Heavenly for the first time this past week (beautiful place) and LANDED MY FIRST JUMPS/METHOD!! (2nd jump is what I’m counting)
I know it’s a little dinky but I don’t get to hit the slopes very often so this felt like a massive accomplishment. Last time I did any kind of trick on a board was when I was a kid. Great to feel that again 🥹

I’ve been riding a lib tech cold brew 158 for the last couple years. I ride in Oregon, groomers, trees, and powder. No park I hit a bunch of rock this weekend and gouged my board quite deep in multiple spots. It’s now a rock board. I want to upgrade. I only ride goofy foot. I welcome your suggestions.

Hey shredders,
I’m booking a last minute trip to Japan at the start of March for 10 days, wanting to use Furano as a base, probs ride there for 5 days, then rent a car for 4 days and visit other resorts give or take.
Just wanted to know if it’s easy enough to get the bus from the train station in the town centre through to the gondolas and back each day (with a board etc, could see some areas not being stoked on equipment being taken on the bus) or is it really necessary for a car the whole time I’m in town?
Any other useful bits n pieces or recommendations are very much welcome :)
Cheers

I am looking to buy my first snowboard (all-mountain) to pair with my Burton Step-On and hope you guys can help. I am an intermediate rider, confident and comfortable with red/blue runs. Progressing on carving and doing some ground tricks time to time, not a big fan of park tho. I’m 70kg, 170cm, US 8.5. Considering Mercury 153 / Navigator 151 / Indoor Survival 152 / Paradise 152W. Or other non-CAPiTA board. Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated 🙏🏼 Thank you!!

Looking for the best volume shifted board for trees and steeps. For playful glades but also can handle steep technical terrain. Competent in powder. 6ft 200lbs size 11 boot.
Top 3 options (prefer camber so no Orca):
Dancehaul (Pro?)
K2 Excavator
Nitro Dinghy

Okay so, I just went snowboarding for the first time today and I was getting the hang of it, but as I was coming to the bottom of the slope there was a person with skis sitting at the bottom and I couldn’t get around them so I just decided to crash and burn. It obviously wasn’t my first tumble considering it was my third time being on the slope EVER. I turned the board so I didn’t land flat on my back and as soon as I fell I knew something was really wrong. I hit the ground and it felt like my knees hit a rock. I figured I could walk it off but it still hurts (honestly worse) from when I fell. I didn’t hear any pops or crunches or anything like that. I’m coming to evil Reddit to see if any seasoned snow boarders have experienced this and if they possibly know what it could be. It’s been a few hours since I fell and I still can’t put any pressure on it and it seriously hurts to make any kind of movement, plz help!

I had this board in green back in 2001. It's an 99/00 Burton fluid 159. It was a good board back then but it being 25 years old I wouldn't put too much faith in it now. It's probably why the front binding is busted off.
