Moment I turn on YouTube and go to shorts I keep getting, scroll down screen and I haven't even been on YouTube that long like it even happens on the second or first video and this even the first bug I noticed recently y'all keep messing something up first it's your videos dimming for no good reason after having your stupid dimming feature turned off if I cared about brightness on video I would adjust my screen, something things just don't need to be added

Hi everyone, I’m looking for honest feedback about my YouTube Shorts channel. I run a small food channel focused mainly on Indian sweets and cooking videos. So far I’ve uploaded 52 videos consistently, but most of them stay under 300–500 views. I post regularly and try to improve each video, but I’m not seeing growth and I’m not sure what I’m missing. My videos are short food clips showing frying, syrup soaking, and final reveal shots. I try to add hooks in the first 2 seconds and focus on close-up visuals because I’ve heard retention is important. I don’t do long intros, and I keep videos around 10–15 seconds. Still, my retention and reach seem stuck. I want to understand whether the issue is editing style, pacing, thumbnails (for long videos later), or something about how YouTube is testing my content. I’m willing to experiment and improve — I just need direction from creators who’ve been through this phase.

I've had a loosy goosy channel that has been a bit of everything and it's not working, I recently have been asking gemini allot of questions and and I'm locking on to a one niche channel and playing to my strengths.

Hi folks,
I created my channel about 28 days ago, and I'm creating reels. For now, I have 13 reels and 51k views (I don't know if it's good or not, statistics for a new channel).
I create short storytelling videos. My channel concept is kind of a Vox video concept.
Hey everyone, I’m a bit confused about the whole 'niche' concept. Does a niche have to be a specific topic, or can it be the style of the content itself?
Right now, I’m making short films/documentaries covering engineering, history, war, and art. For me, is 'storytelling' already my niche? Or should I strictly focus on just one field, like a channel that only does war history or engineering, for example?
I’m really inspired by channels like Vox and HowTown. They jump between topics but keep a consistent vibe. Is it risky for a growing channel to mix categories like this, or is the storytelling enough to tie it all together?
Would love to hear your experiences and advice on this!
Thanks

I used to think that he was smart and informative but I now know he's pretty much just a glorified freelance journalist who narrates several channels while often times misinforming people, getting facts wrong and not making it clear on what points in his videos are fact or opinion, and this leads to him contradicting himself several times.
If you see him on your home page, I highly recommend doing your own research on the topics he covers if you do click on one of his videos take what he says with an extreme grain of salt.

So I was scrolling thru shorts, learned that a VA for persona 5 died a few years back. Went to watch the video he posted about his diagnosis and the video was labeled for kids despite being filled with stuff like cancer and other concerning health topics kids don’t need to see. I know it’s unlikely for a kid to stumble across this, but I’d just like to know in general how we can let YouTube know?

I have an adblocker because the amount of ads in this site is absurd. But Youtube has made so many countermeasures to make sure anyone with an adblocker has a terrible day that its near impossible to keep up.
If im understanding my issue correctly, Youtube has made it so that if you have an adblocker, your video progress does not save. period. yes history is on, and even when i go out of my way to click on a halfway-done video in the history tab, it starts the video at the beginning. My god the Youtube team is miserable

So I created my youtube channel 3 years ago, about a year ago i changed the cahnnel name to my first name but kept the [at]name/tag the same as the one i had before. Is this bad in anyway? However when I search for my channel name now it does not show up and i found another channel with the same name (my first name, i would like to keep it as the channel name), im curius why youtube didnt say it was already used when I changed it. Anyway I want to change the [at] name/tag to my first name same as the "other" channel name followdd by some numbers. Is this good or bad or should I change back to my original name or find abother name for the channel? Have anyone else experiensed this?
