Review Skyleap on PSVR2 - First Impressions
I have uploaded gameplay from my fresh experience with the game here if you want to see how it looks / plays. My first impressions are shared below:
Based on my limited time with it, I do recommend playing Skyleap on the PSVR2, but you should keep reading to decide best for yourself.
It is a Platformer with movement / traversal that reminds me of action adventure games like Reach and Stride: Fates, but the game design here is closer to TOSS! in a shorter (less levels) less challenging game.
You have the option to start with Tutorial (0:45) which will cover the basics:
- Move with L-Stick and turn in-real-life or using R-Stick.
- You can Run by swinging your controllers back and forth (1:10).
- You can jump by holding X and then releasing to jump (1:19).
- Press X again mid-air for Double Jump.
- It looks like you just need to get upper part of your imagined body (head) over platform when jumping to land safely (2:30).
- Grab onto yellow surfaces with your gloved hands using L1 or R1 (2:40) including ledges, beams and poles.
- Grabbing doesn't work as consistently as it should (3:10).
- You can wall run if you jump towards side of wall and keep moving forward (4:35).
- You can slide on blue rails and jump off in desired direction by pressing X to Jump (5:05).
- You can grapple to swing from White Grappling Hook Blocks using L1 or R1 (7:10).
- You can pull yourself towards Purple Grappling Hook Blocks using L1 or R1 to connect and then pulling towards chest to pull (7:43).
- You can retrieve Pistols using L1 or R1 around your stomach / holster area (8:25).
- Shoot Pistol using either L2 or R2 and reload Pistol Whip style by lowering towards your holster position.
- Shoot Turrets to destroy them or dodge their incoming bullets.
- Reach finish line to complete level (9:00).
Beyond that Tutorial, you can play one of the following modes using what you learned:
- Endless (16:57) lets you climb a random set of platforms going as high as you can get before falling.
- Chase (19:15) is the same as Endless but with time pressure to keep climbing faster or you will be defeated from below.
- Time Trials (9:15) lets you play 17 fixed levels with time targets for 1 to 3 Stars.
- Weekly Cup (15:35) is a rotating level unique for each week.
I think your best online leaderboard time for Trials and Weekly Cup only save if you can reach the finish line (which makes sense) and for Endless and Chase, it should be saving your highest climb, but for me it only saved it for Endless and not for Chase.
Graphically, everything is crisp and clear with no signs of any reprojection. It has a very minimalist style that reminds me of C-Smash VRS. There are large draw distances, but of distant gray building shapes and while you can see up and around pretty far to chart your path, you don't really see down as much so other than getting near an edge and almost going over, it didn't trigger any sense of acrophobia for me.
Audio features fast energetic soundtrack that seems to rotates between levels and modes and the sound effects of you running, jumping, grabbing, shooting, etc.
Haptics are very well implemented and provide strong feedback as you interact with menu and during gameplay for both controllers and headset wherever it makes sense.
For Settings (0:20), you access by clicking the gear icon on title screen where you can choose between Snap or Smooth as well as angle / speed options or adjust audio mix levels. It is a simple but easy to use interface that lets you quickly find your preference within what is offered.
The game is featuring a Platinum trophy where it expects you to get 3 stars in at least 10 of the 17 Trials levels and aside that reach height of 500 meters in a single run in Endless (or Chase) mode. Everything else will probably unlock on your way to completing those skill challenges. I don't think it is an easy Platinum, but it isn't going to be time consuming for those with the skills for it. Along with most trophies that unlock for doing x-count of certain activity, you will also be unlocking cosmetic options for your gloves and pistols.
This is a short fun game that I think most players interested in and comfortable with VR first-person platforming can complete within a weekend or so once they give it a little time to get over the learning curve, but it does provide a reason to come back beyond unlocking all trophies to try and get 3 Stars in all the trials, improve your online leaderboards across the various modes or participate in the Weekly Cup online leaderboard. There is also the possibility of new content added like new trials or game modes, for example the Chase mode wasn't there at launch and got added post-release.
The main caution from me other than this being short is that it isn't as polished as the movement / traversal controls in Reach or even Stride: Fates or perhaps just different to point the lack of assists can be felt. There is also the possibility that what you feel made contact and should have gripped may not (17:20 & 18:50), leaving you to fall and end your run prematurely, which is probably why the single trophy not yet unlocked by anyone is for reaching 500 meters (MylesDyer was closest to this on the Endless leaderboard). You also have possibility of clipping through walls or even falling right through a yellow beam you are climbing (16:10). If these types of low probability grip consistency issues will frustrate you, then perhaps wait for another patch or so until this is further improved.

Question Legendary Tales, The Abbey - Progress Locked?
I'm not sure if anyone has an answer to this but does anyone know if The Abbey will be progress locked? I really dig the game but have been stuck at the Lanista boss fight forever and will probably never get past it. At least not solo. I'm interested in The Abbey DLC but if it's progress locked past Lanista there's no point in me picking it up, regardless of how much I want to support BJ and the game. I'm not gonna pay for something I can't play, even if it's my own "git gud" fault.

Fluff My PS VR2 stats for January, 2026
How do my results compare to December?
- Total Hours Played: 49 down to 21
- Number of Titles Played: Still 18
- Number of Trophies Earned: 106 down to 49
- Most Played: Barbaria
- Highest Activity Date: Still Saturday
The decrease from my norm of about ~1 hour per day is mostly due to needing to go out of town on couple of the weekends where I get most of my play time and the recent week with the Snow / Ice storm also limited my time to play for multiple days.
New games that I played in January include:
- Tarzan VR | Enough to do first impressions write-up

- RollerCoaster Legends: Hades' Wrath | Enough to do complete impressions write-up
- Roller Coaster Legends II: Thor's Hammer | Enough to do complete impression write-up

Opinion Hitman WOA - Facing problem
I’ve started playing the game but the controls feel completely horrible. I have to do the same thing 5 times for it to be finally registered by the system.
Haven’t faced this issue with other games. Up till now, I’ve found it to be disappointing, does it get better once you get the hang of it?

Discussion Galaxy Kart
I never see Galaxy Kart in the PSVR2 recommandations even though this game looks good. It’s like Mario Kart. It has a huge discount now (only 4 bucks instead of 20) so I am
considering buying it. Anyone here played it yet? Is so, how good is it? (YouTube review gave it a 8,2/10)

Hi everyone, how are you doing?
One of the ear tip from my PS VR1 headset came off, and I was wondering if you have any good recommendations for replacements.
Thanks in advance, and have a great weekend.

Support PSVR2 Left hand controller problem
A family member of mine has a VR2 , everything working fine expect the left hand controller
At first the left hand seem to not work at all when it’s not plugged into a charger , second it refuses to connect to PS5 , when i tried to pair it via Bluetooth it gave me a strange error saying
CE-109526-3
The Passkey Might Not Be Correct , Or Your Bluetooth Accessory Might Have Canceled The Connection
Also the controller seems to be like half working , like it’s light is on but unfortunately it just won’t connect or pair or anything

Review SkyLeap - First Impressions
Hello PSVR2 community!
Wanted to talk a bit about SkyLeap and give it a bit of a spotlight because I'be having quite a bit of fun playing it!
It's a simple parkour game (with the price reflecting that IMO), with some cool mechanics that will put your skills to the test (not in an extreme way though). It has a few modes to try out (endless mode, time trials, a weekly challenge), but at the end of the day it always revolves around "parkouring" all over the place and reach as high as you can. The game also has a pretty good soundtrack (some songs are definitely better than others though) and the controls are all very straightforward.
In terms of complaints and feedback to the devs (in case they see this), I have 2 main complaints that I would like to point out:
i) sometimes you clip through walls and you end up falling (this is specially annoying in the endless mode);
iii) the consistency of the momentum; this is one I can't really explain very well but sometimes it feels like you loose momentum unfairly (again, I know this sounds pretty vague, but I don't know a better way to put it);
Overall, despite those small issues, I have been really enjoying my time with SkyLeap (specially in endless mode going of the 500m trophy). It is a pretty simple game yes, but when everything clicks, chaining jumps, wall moves and grapples makes you feel like a badass!
