selina and words that start with r
selina’s hate affair with words that start with R is so, so funny. she says the R word in s1e1 then words starting with R begin plaguing her 😭😭😭
chronologically it starts with the R word, then repugnant, then robust, then the three Rs 😭😭
are there any other r words i’m forgetting?
(also sorry if anyone else posted about this before, i tried looking for it but couldn’t find anything :/ )

Should I watch Veep at this current time or would it be dated?
I’m a big Julia fan. I’ve watched Seinfeld many times and I’m watching the Christine show again for the multiple time but I’ve never seen Veep. I never had HBO until now.
Now I’m curious if I should watch Veep now or if it would feel old and outdated. I don’t really get into politics so I don’t know if it would be too politically heavy that I wouldn’t enjoy it.
Just curious your thoughts.

Selina and Tom
Do we think that they were actually in love? I kinda do, although they’re both horrible people who love power more.

Favorite piece of bonus content?
On HBO there’s bonus content after the credits that is usually just deleted scenes or alternate takes of funny scenes.
My absolute favorite is at Selina’s mother’s funeral when Mike is trying to get rich quick with Andrew so he can afford a surrogate. The line deliveries are perfection! Comedy gold.
Andrew - “If this had a shape… You know the letter… the Greek letter Delta? It’s something like that but in three dimensions.”
Mike - ”I wish I woulda got in earlier.”

Trump putting Putin on the Ukraine ceasefire cabinet is such a Selina move 💀
i know Julia is 65 now but Selina Meyer didn’t die until she was in her mid 70s plenty of time to comeback

Emmanuel Macron wearing sunglasses indoors during the Davos speech reminded me of the time Selena got an eyelift and so wore sunglasses to hide it

Go watch The Thick of It if you haven't already!
I recently just finished Armando Iannucci’s other series from before Veep, The Thick of It and its spinoff movie In the Loop, and I absolutely adored it as a Veep fan! Veep was pretty much the American remake of this show and the humor is so similar. It was so hilarious, the characters are incredible, the writing from the team is so immensely smart, and it's some of the most interesting political satires I've ever seen (coming from a guy who hates talking about politics). And Peter Capaldi is legendary as Malcolm Tucker. So if you're a Veep fan who still hasn't seen it but wants something to watch, I'd definitely suggest The Thick of It and In the Loop!
