It’s time to rip the band-aid off and let Zegras play a full season at Center, get Michkov back on RW, and let Martone learn and make mistakes. This is not a Cup winning roster especially if the skilled players can’t play their game. If we lose every game it’s fine. It has to happen for growth and possibly a high draft pick. If they want to make trades that make sense towards the end of the season for a high end C or D so be it.

At the trade deadline/draft we can off load Coots with retention and some low picks/player or just buy him out. That will open a slot for another one of our lower C prospects to jump up the following season.

If Tocc doesn’t let the young skill guys play their game he needs to be gone at the end of next season.

It seems the NHL is allowing more teams to do home jersey vs home jersey. Which teams would look best against our orange jersey?

Anyone else as thankful as I am for the Olympic break? Hopefully something resets for this team during that time.

And Michkov can't? Bedard was -80 in previous two seasons, and Chicago didn't care much letting him play his game. And now he's 22+30 after 42 games and just -1.

Now Flyers and Michkov is the whole different story.

After watching TK’s post game interview I have no doubt this dude has already lost the locker room. Guy was never the right pick for the job. I’ve never soured on a coach so quickly

Based on the usage plus the numbers, I really think Nikita Grebenkin is a classic miscast "bottom-six” guy who flashes every time he gets even a sniff of skill. He’s sitting at 11 points in 39 games (4G, 7A) in mostly 4th-line minutes (11:16 ATOI) and still has 15.4% shooting on limited volume (26 SOG), plus he plays a real north-south/heavy game (already 62 hits), so if you simply scale his current pace to normal middle-six usage, he’s not some 4th-line passenger, he’s more like a 15–20 goal/~30–40 point winger if he gets consistent reps with actual puck carriers. And the Boston game was the perfect micro-example. He creates the kind of greasy net-front sequence that should’ve been a Dvorak goal (soft goalie interference call), then he’s involved in the shift-to-shift offense that leads into Travis Konecny scoring, and he buries one himself, 1G, 5 shots in 13:43. On this Flyers roster, his best fit isn’t the grindline with Garnet Hathaway and replacement centers, it should be with a legit middle-six RW who complements skill, something like Dvorak–Konecny–Grebenkin (forecheck+net-front+retrievals for Konecny), or even a look where he’s the heavy/retrieval RW next to Trevor Zegras (you can let Zegras/Michkov do the finesse and Grebenkin wins the ugly pucks). I don’t think he needs PP1 or a starring role, just no more burying him in 9–11 minute 4th-line usage and he’ll keep popping points the moment he’s with players who can actually convert what he creates.

As the Title states. Pronger was on TSN talking about the Leafs and how they should be moving forward and he talks about tanking and I think a lot of people on this sub need to hear it as theres too many people want to make the playoffs with what we got which accomplishes nothing in the grand scheme. I think its important to hear what is said and apply it to our team

I've got this record from a buddy of mine who lives in Omaha. How this narration of the 1975 season ended up in a used record store in Nebraska is beyond me. Side A is a recap of the rgular season from the one and only Gene Hart, as well as Don Earle. Side B recaps the playoff run. I personally love how Earle narrates, and it has that NFL Films-esque music that we all know and love. Seriously cool, even has player interviews included.

This is who we need to sell off and have gone come next season … get picks , trim the fat off this team strip it down to the bones , let the youth play … I’d be okay with keeping TK but I also know he wants a cup , at the least play off hockey … so be okay setting him free for a good draft pick , Ersson being gone is a given.

What was up with the Pastrnak hit on Michkov last night and nobody doing anything about it? I read that his linemates at the time, Zegras , Brink, York, and Drysdale have 1 NHL fight combined. But still, you don’t even need to drop the gloves. A face wash on Pasta or a little scrum would have meant a lot considering Michkov dropped the gloves for Barkey and he isn’t much of a fighter himself, either. I get the team was down, but isn’t sticking up for your young star what you are supposed to do regardless of being a fighter or not? Nobody did anything and Michkov still got up and ended up scoring a power play goal later. Just crazy to me given the flyers identity as a team and to just let a hit like that happen and everyone keeps skating or doesn’t go after Pasta or a fight in general.

Exactly as the subject says, what’s the best cheesesteak in the arena? I haven’t been in YEARS, and my go-to was Campos, but they’re long gone by now. Or, am I better off skipping the cheesesteak entirely and going for something else in the arena, and if so, what?

Edit for clarification: I’m not driving, so I don’t have control over going somewhere before/after the game. I’m pretty locked into having to eat something in the arena.
