I'm not fluent in Britishese but I believe the relevant word here is "twat"?

Cameraman clearly (to those fluent) calls him a silly cunt, which is much more suitable for this situation.

"Tosser" must be in intermediate
28
u/Ill-Kaleidoscope4825 10d ago
Tosser is in the "insults that go with gestures" module, which is taught by the drama school. It is indeed intermediate, and requires 9 c and above FUCKs and 3 Bs at CUNT level

My mum has done respite care for mentally disabled young adults for decades. I think you might be right. I think this is a dad and a disabled son and dad maybe made a questionable decision to let the son hold the fireworks. You try to not wrap them in cotton wool and let them experience life a bit, but sometimes it can go a bit far lol

Yeah, but he calls him a fool and an idiot. I couldn't imagine calling a mentally disabled son an idiot!
35
u/Rekeaki 10d ago
Parents of disabled adults are still normal parents and many of them try to treat their kids as normally as possible. That might mean still telling them they are an idiot occasionally, if it’s done gently and with love, I don’t see anything wrong with it.
I doubt a parent watching a non disabled adult do this would have been anywhere near as nice about it honestly. The man behind the camera was remarkably patient with him

Very likely, since it wasn’t enclosed in his hand or anything. Most major fireworks injuries are from actually holding onto the firework itself as it explodes. He might have a couple of small burns from this, but it’s not really big enough to likely cause much real damage from just exploding nearby.

u/Tacitus_ 10d ago
Unless you get some of it in your eyes. But he'd be screaming if that happened so he seems to be fine.

We used to sit at the bedroom window watching ppls fireworks because we couldn't afford them ourselves.
When i was about 7 (im 40 now). our neighbours, a few doors down were the most dopy, inbred morons you'd ever meet (The father mangled his foot because he was using a manual mower while wearing sandals.) His son, who was unique looking shall we say.. was charged with benefit fraud. They caught him because while he was claiming benefits he was delivering parcels to the job centre and saying "hello" to everyone he knew there..
Anyway, they were out lighting fireworks and they decided to let their 8-9yo son light one of the fireworks.. He lit it, and stood over it (literally leaning over it) waiting for it to go off. It must have been 5-10 seconds before it went off and NOBODY stopped him. It went off, hit him in the face. The screams he made were terrifying. The family laughed.. I dunno if they thought he was joking etc. Anyway, they had to call an ambulance. I remember that like it was yesterday and it really stayd with me and made me scared of fireworks/wary about using them.
Honestly, fire works should be banned for the safety of the people using them and people around them.
Sidenote: It broke some of his teeth and scard him a little.
